Coffee Commissary is one of two coffee shops walking distance from me in Palms, so I've been a few times now. It's a good place to work because there's lots of tables (but I have noticed they play their music REALLY loud, so maybe they don't actually want people working there, I don't know). The coffee is fine, I specifically like their blended drinks; there aren't many places around these days where you can get good blended drinks besides coffee bean. The food I've tried I've really enjoyed, and I've been meaning to try a breakfast burrito at a friend's recommendation. However, the service at this location every time I've been there has been laughably bad. Like has me wondering "what did I do??" Which is not an enjoyable experience. When I've ordered the blended drinks, the baristas have either made a weird comment ("it's really sweet...are you sure?" I know, I like it that way!), and/or scoffed or GLARED at me for ordering it?! Then practically shoved my pastry into my hands. I understand having a bad day, I've worked customer service and sometimes you're just in a bad mood! But something to this extent has happened every single time I've been to this coffee commissary. I'm sorry if you guys don't like making blended drinks or just hate your job, but don't take it out on me I would rather go to little marionette down on motor where the drinks are a bit more expensive but the baristas are all very friendly and I've never felt like the employees hate my guts for ordering a drink on their menu. read more

Service here is really friendly! Greeting upon arrival. I ordered a $10 bacon egg & cheese! It was a larger sandwich on a ciabatta roll, and it was super yummy!!! Pros- They have the best coffee in the area. Cons- that is, when they have coffee. I would say probably 1 out of every 4 times I go they are out of coffee. More often than not there are multiple workers standing around on their phones who have not bothered to brew a new pot. I contacted the management and got the standard "this is unacceptable and we will talk to our workers" but it keeps happening. I actually find most of the workers to be super friendly but I do feel like the management just figures "we are popular, growing,doing well- who cares about customers who have to wait for coffee." They should look around at all the once popular businesses failing and realize people have increasing options. It's disappointing but there are other options and more and more I am choosing those. read more

Love this place, coffee is good quality and rich, beans are not burnt which is often a problem in the U.S. perfectly rich, never too bitter. Their suadero burrito with chipotle crema is very good, if a bit pricey. Staff is nice and friendly, have had many nice encounters with the workers there. A good place to work on essays or other work. Also dog friendly. If you go there frequently I'd recommend getting the Cash App rewards cause I think they do add up! read more

Very small establishment with only street parking. The places to sit are so close to each other that if you sit next to someone you'll probably knee each other. The coffee at best is mid and overly priced for the quality. If you're not a regular, they'll walk away from the register and pretend to do something until they feel like taking your order (even when you leave a nice tip). The variety of food items are also very limited and the flavor is also mid. I personally prefer the coffee shop on Tabor & Motor, especially if I want a pastry. The real MVP is literally down the street from this location on Overland and they have the best bagels (Daniel's bagels). read more

Amazing coffee and a great place to get work done. I've been looking for another coffee shop to do work at, and luckily I found Coffee Commissary. First off the coffee tastes amazing, I had a mocha and also tried the vanilla bean frap that my boyfriend ordered, and it's all reasonably priced. I want to love this place but someone has to do something about the music. It's like a club in there the music is that loud. I work around the corner and would love to bring a client in for a coffee but it's way too loud for that. And while I was there with my young daughter the other day every song was F this and F that, n**ger this and that, and once the song came on about eating p**sy, I figured it was time to leave. The cafe is large with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great space for both a coffee with friends/family, working on your laptop, or just reading a book.
