This coffee shop in the heart of Voltaire Street in OB is very big with different spaces. The patio is very convenient for me when teaching Spanish online. Since so many people seem to use coffee shops as public libraries...I finally joined the train jam it just in the huge ones and just at the patio. I don't like when coffee shop become coworking spaces only and no one can go on a coffee date with a friend or a fling because you bother the peace of the 'nomads'. I like the decor so much here, very cool mural, so expressive and you can see the cyclists in motion. Excellent job. I also like the boho patio, the friendly service and the excellent coffee. Plus the fact that I always find an empty spot, never over crowded. Easy to park outside for a couple of hours.

Coffee Cycle is excellent. I will start by saying that I'm not a coffee drinker. But my husband is. Because of this, we've gone from shop to shop across San Diego in search of the best beans. He definitely has his list of favorites and after trying Coffee Cycle, he said that it tops his list! They have so many great varietals and he especially loves that the beans are provided in tins instead of bags which makes them much easier to scoop. Although I'm not a coffee drinker, I love a matcha and know a good one when I taste it! This matcha is soo good! No sugary mix or cheap baking quality. Their matcha is really good. You can tell by the color alone. They clearly take pride in the drinks they serve and this spot has a lot of space to enjoy a drink (with your bike in tow!)

Such a cute spot! Quite possibly my favorite coffee spot in OB. The baristas are super friendly, they have indoor and outdoor seating, good music, tasty coffee & matcha (it's legit).. I've tried their empanadas and breakfast sandwich and those were both good too.

Coffee Cycle is a fantastic local small business in SD! This is their second location, with their first being in PB. I absolutely love Coffee Cycle! They have fantastic coffee that they ethically sourced from small farmers. They also make their own syrups and non dairy milks, and offer delicious empanadas! This space is about 4x larger than their PB location, with lots of seating options. It's a great place to work from! Lastly, the owner Chris is just the nicest person. I feel great supporting such a wonderful small business.

Coffee Cycle makes extremely good coffee and takes all the steps in being a batista serious, but with a chill, beach attitude. I have already reviewed their amazing coffee at their PB location, but the new OB location includes very yummy sandwiches, sodas, and empanadas. Please go here and try! If unsure, get their latte or flat white.

Yesterday, I stopped by Coffee Cycle (4856 Voltaire between Cable and Sunset Cliffs Blvd) for the first time, and it was an experience that completely exceeded my expectations. My opinion, many coffee shops can feel a bit unwelcoming on a first visit, with a "too cool for school" vibe, but Coffee Cycle was refreshingly the opposite. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. It also helped that the shop was playing Wu-Tang, and Jordan, the friendly barista behind the counter, greeted me right away with a smile and exceptional service. I was in the mood to try a late breakfast (at 1:30 PM ), and Jordan recommended "OB's Best Breakfast Sandwich," a new creation by Chris, the owner. This sandwich was next-level deliciousness and made with thick, local sourdough bread, smoked pork belly, chipotle sauce, pepper jack cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg. Every bite was a blend of bold, rich flavors and left me completely satisfied. This sandwich is super legit!! Highly recommend. It left me already looking forward to my next return visit. Then for mental energy, I paired the sandwich with a honey cinnamon iced latte. This drink was made with cinnamon, local raw honey, housemade cashew, macadamia milk, and espresso. It was smooth, lightly sweet, and energizing. It complemented the sandwich well. The extra welcoming vibe came from Jordan, who after I put in my order then took the time to share the history of Coffee Cycle, how it got started and explained how they source all their beans from around the world, and roast them right there in the shop. Her passion for the craft was contagious actually making me want to learn more about the process behind the coffee, which made the experience feel personal and unique. Now I can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu and also hangout to do a little work in their large open space. If you haven't stopped by yet, I highly recommend checking out this spot as it's the perfect fit for OB.

Great coffee and very kind baristas. The place was cozy. I got the vanilla bean latte and a mocha with almond milk. They make their own syrups. So good!

Lazy Eye to the rescue! Lazy Eye is sandwiched between two buildings with one table out front. It's a to-go place. When you're that close to the beach, who wants to be inside anyway? While they do offer regular brewed coffee, I'm pretty certain their specialty is all the delicious frou-frou coffee drinks. I usually don't go for them, but today, I was in the mood for it. Their milk chocolate mocha with light ice was delicious It made me very happy and our pup was super happy with the treat they gave him. They have a small bakery display which I passed on since we were getting brunch soon, but I'm sure there's something for everyone there. This location is open 7 days a week- 6:30am-1pm. What a beautiful coffee/shop/bar here near Liberty Station market and so glad I randomly stopped…read morein! I will definitely be coming here, over and over again! In the early afternoon, this place had a line, which is a good sign. The line moved quickly but also gave me time to study their menu to see what I wanted. They specialize in Hawaiian style drinks, so I settled on a Hawaiian matcha. The guy taking me order was super sweet and friendly. I was wearing my favorite Monterey Bay Aquarium sweatshirt and he commented on how that aquarium is one of his favorites! Me too! He asked me what was my favorite thing about the aquarium and I told him the sea otters. I asked what his favorite was and he said the jellyfish exhibition and omg that was soo good! I remember being at that exhibit for awhile as the jellyfish light up and there are so many kinds and so cool to see how they move! In any case, it was so nice to talk about an aquarium we both love!! The Hawaiian matcha was great! I love that they used their Hawaiian syrup in my drink. The drink was pricey, so with oat milk substitution, and a tip, it came to $10. But, think of it this way, you are also using their beautiful facilities and you can lounge here and do work, read, spend some time here. The place is massive, with tons of seating inside (its all open space, so a nice ocean breeze keeps coming thru), and lots of seats outside too! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I will definitely be coming back here and next time, gonna bring some work and books to read and post up here!!
