    Raspberry Espresso Martini

$5 espresso martinis at the bar? Sign me up! With various flavors to choose from, we thoroughly enjoyed kicking off our evening before being magically transported into the speakeasy. In the back, there's a whole other world. The long drinks menu and mystic vibe made for a fun experience. While the drinks in the champagne room are on the pricier side, they're also delicious. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy your night out in Toronto.

We came with a group of 7 people. I did not see much on the online menu for me, being vegan and gluten free, and I thought I would leave hungry. I was pleasantly surprised when our server mentioned there were a few items suitable for me.....salad, broccolini and fries. It wasn't a lot but it was tasty and I did not leave hungry. The others had oysters, steak, chicken, shrimp, squash, etc and all enjoyed their food but everyone agreed it was very pricey. They also charged us for one extra item that eventually got sorted out. The venue is cute and decor is nice but no photos allowed except at the "horse". The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Location is great for a pre theatre meal at POW or Royal Alex theatre. Apparently it becomes a speakeasy later at night.

What a cool fun place this turned out to and they do champagne tours !!! Very pink place ! Huge range of champagne obviously by the glass or the bottle. Nice little cocktail menu as well. And some great small plates. We thoroughly enjoyed our bar visit here. Fun music and great vibe. We had a glass of bubbly rose and I had a espresso martini made perfectly sans espresso means to decorate !!!! So I asked for them as they are an espresso bar too and should have beans !!! Service was ok nothing great considering how many people were worked here. The tuna tartare was fantastic. One of the best I've had. Also super pretty to look at! They have a fun little outside area and plenty of space inside too. I loved the bar seating. I also had a bubbly rose after the martini . Nice crisp and light . This is a great place to put in your bar hopping list in Toronto. Just know champagne costs a lot more than Prosecco !!!

Feeling like a 21st century Marie Antoinette? This is the spot for you. Extensive collection of champagne, oyster specials, marble tables, white upholstery. COC is made for the Instagram generation with a discerning taste in bubbly. The staff are friendly and attentive. Their cocktails lean towards the more refreshing side - think spritzes and sodas - this is not the place for a complex take on an old fashioned. It is also a fairly cramped space and not really a comfortable place to hang out for more than one or two drinks. The champagne room is worth a tour though...

Very cool speakeasy experience! I can't wait to take my other friends here as well. The place is super unique and well decorated. I had the grilled shrimp and charred broccolini - both dishes were really good but portions are small. The grilled shrimp was $22 and had 5 shrimps with no sides. The charred broccolini was $12. They have a great list of cocktail options as well. I tried one of their zero proof drinks and it was great!

Such a gorgeous spot! We stopped in here around 9 pm on a Friday and we're able to find a seat right away. There was a big cocktail and champagne menu. We were interested in the espresso martinis and the waitress was super helpful as we decided on which to get. For the record, the Dark Chocolate, Catch Me If You Can (gingerbread flavored), and Classic were all delicious. We were wanting to come here because of the cute pics online and stayed for the great drinks, service, and ambiance. It started to get busy around 10, would plan on reservations for getting there early to avoid lines!

I loved my experience at A Toi aka the hidden speakeasy and restaurant inside Coffee Oysters Champagne! Made a dinner reservation online, and we were led to the "Champagne Room" when we arrived. You have to find the right bottle to "open" the door to the secret passage way where you will "travel in time" to 1920s Paris! ** Note: I think if you plan to walk in, you have to discreetly ask to see the "Champagne Room"? I read it in other reviews. I guess you gotta keep it down low or else you will be denied entry lol. ** ** And NO PHOTOS ALLOWED except in the bathroom lol ** ** It is also pretty busy inside, make sure you make a reservation online ** The hostess at the A Toi 'hotel reception' was fun and playful, I absolutely loved her character! The 'bell boy' then led us to our table :) Our waitress knows us by names, and made sure everything was running smoothly. There is an actor (or actors I'm not sure) roaming around the place too, see if you can identify and talk to them... could end up very magical lol ;) As for dinner, I didn't enjoy my main as much. I did enjoy the Crab & Caviar appetizer, tho I wish the house crackers would be less hard on the teeth and perhaps thinner. But overall, a very appetizing dish. My friend and I shared the Swiss Chard Ravioli and the Two Duck (seared duck breast and confit leg). The duck was not bad, but the ravioli pasta skin was undercooked and I'm not feeling the flavours. Waitress took it back and we ordered the 7oz Burger with ground chuck/brisket, caramelized onion, and came with side of fries, which was alright. Despite the miss on the food, I still had a great time because it was such a fun atmosphere. Next time, I hope to come back just for drinks :)

Omg! Where do I begin! This bar has such an incredible atmosphere but you have to know where to sit. In the front of the bar it looks like a casual restaurant. Now, if you know the secret, ask to sit in the secret back room, you are in for a treat. They will go and see if there is availability and if there is they will lead you into a room where they store all of their Champaign. The hostess will then tell you there are no photos allowed beyond this point. They pull a bottle and you will be transported into a speak easy will men dressed as bell hops and female employees in chic black outfits with fancy accessories. The ambiance The ambiance in the back is amazing. My friend and I loved the vibe and couldn't get enough of it. The Food: Such a disappointment. The waiter told me the steak was the best steak he has ever had. I tried it and found it lacked flavour. It tasted a bit bland and was only available with fries. I honestly wish I could have swapped the fries for a nice salad. My friend ordered the ravioli and she said it tasted okay but she would not order it again. Her dish arrived with three raviolis on her plate. All of the employees recommended the fish so I'm wondering if it is any better. The Experience Honestly, at this restaurant you are paying for the experience and vibe. The experience and vibe is really trendy and hip. This is the it-spot to hang out on King street. Would I go back? Absolutely but just for the incredible drinks. The Drinks: The drinks are phenomenal. There are so many choices and they all taste exquisite. I definitely recommend you come here for drinks. Arrive early to ensure you get a seat at the bar or else you might be disappointed.

You walk in and you're immediately presented with a really cool, really atmospheric hallway that leads into a flashy bar. The service was awesome, too. It was the end of the night, so I figured I'd probably only be getting one drink, which is why I went with the very expensive ($26!) New York Sour ("lot 40 canadian rye whisky. peller estates private reserve pinot noir 2024. montmorency cherry. wild rosehip. citrus. whey"). It's a decent cocktail. The flavors work well together and it did elevate a normal Whisky Sour. However, I don't feel like it knocked my socks off, and as a result, paying about $30 (including tax and tip) seemed a little unreasonable. It's a solid drink, though. It sure fared better than the Truffle Pommes Frites ("shoestring fries, parmigiano, truffle aioli"), which I found to be inedible. I know that truffle oil is one of those divisive ingredients that people either love or hate, but I'd say I easily fall into the latter camp. And this concoction was overloaded with the stuff, so I was only able to eat a few bites before throwing in the towel. Based on this visit, I'd have to say Slice of Life is more style over substance, but I could be wrong and I'll presumably be back at some point to give them another shot.
