Refuge and maple crème brûlée in the forefront, East meets West in the background.

A beautiful cosy bar located on the 17th floor of the Hyatt Hotel. Great views of the city and the CN Tower from the balcony. In the summer, the long balcony of seats provides an outdoor space to fully enjoy the view. We ordered the Refuge and East Meets West cocktail, along with the Maple crème brûlée. My definite preference of the two cocktails is the Refuge, as it has bolder and more complex flavors. A wonderful way to end a night in the city.

A beautiful hidden gem right by Yorkville. Great view of the city. The lamb ribs were so tender and soft. The cocktails were great but a little pricey.

Located at the rooftop of the Park Hyatt, this bar evokes a dimly lit, upscale ambience that gives an aura of elegance. This is excellent for a bougie night out or a date night. I made reservations day of just in case, which is a good call as the bar was really busy even on a Thursday. You can walk in but not guaranteed seats inside with a dedicated table, but if the weather is nice, you can order cocktails and enjoy it standing outside. I got the Quite Taken which is one of their specialties, egg white based cocktail. This one literally has an almost replica of the Toronto skyline drawn on top of the egg white! Not only was it so pretty, but it was also delicious, with a more fruity flavor of a cocktail. My friend got the Alchemist's Elixir which is also quite pretty with a fusion of colors. It is interesting as there is pinot noir on top of vodka and other ingredients, which is a more unique combination. Service here was fine. I took off a star as I was a bit shocked that they charged still water PER person instead of per bottle, so the 6CAD per person = 12CAD was a bit of a shocker. If I knew about this (wasn't listed on the menu), I'd have opted out of it and let my friend enjoy the still water on her own.

Absolutely loved the bar. The dark ambience, views of the Toronto skyline and amazing cocktails made the experience worthwhile. Of course this is an expensive place with each drink being about $25 before tax and tip. But the experience was fabulous what with the server giving details about the cocktails and seven going out of the way to get alternate foam when my wife didn't want egg whites in her cocktails. Really loved the drinks.

A beautiful view of the CN Tower, and the food and drink were both delicious, and the staff was incredibly helpful and respectful, after providing me excellent service with the food, they also gave me recommendations for more things to visit in the area.

I forget the names but Left: Moscow mule Right: vodka spritz cocktail and anything with egg white can be make to have the Toronto skyline

Cute spot on top of the Hyatt. There was a proposal there at the same time we were there. Everyone looks quite laid back and relaxed. Even though all the tables were filled it was not loud

The view was STUNNING!! You pay for the view, not so much the actual drinks/service. I asked my waiter for a drink suggestion, since I prefer sweeter drinks, and I think he gave me the most bitter drinks on the menu. Didn't check back in all night, and I had to hunt him down for the bill. But whatever, view was great and I'm sure it would be better if you got a drink you liked.

Awesome rooftop bar! The views are absolutely stunning and there is plenty of outdoor seating. Our server was quirky and super nice and did a great job handling our ever-growing party. While the food menu seems a bit limited, the quality is really good. We tried the burrata, which came with the most amazing red peppers, chilis, and crackers (can't have plain ole burrata after this), sourdough bread, and Korean fried chicken, which was also super tasty and plentiful. The drinks are standout though; we all ordered the same drink (can't remember the name - it was on the specials menu) and all agreed it was delicious and beautiful (see photo)! Highly recommend coming here for apps, drinks, and of course the views.

Writer's Room Bar, located on the 17th floor of the Park Hyatt Hotel, serves up tasty cocktails, sharing plates, and a great view of the Toronto skyline (they have a patio!). My friend and I recently dined at Writer's Room Bar on a Thurs night for dinner. We made reservations ahead of time but got there 30 min before our reservation time. Staff mentioned that our table was ready and we were promptly guided to our table. The space is moody and elegant, yet classy, where the main views of the city serve as the backdrop to a great night out. Drinks wise, they have your classic cocktails as well as additional unique cocktails that exclusive to the Writer's Room Bar. They also have some mocktails as well as a wine list as well. Food wise they have small bites and larger plates. My friend opted to share our dishes. These are the items we ordered to share: - Scallop crudo (Iberico ham stock, candied pecan, black apple) - Korean fried chicken (bibb lettuce, kimchi, ssam sauce) - Grilled octopus ('nduja vinaigrette, marinated artichoke) - Whole grilled branzino (smoked dashi butter, trout roe) - We both got the Time & Wander cocktail (gin, calvadose, cinnamon orange, and egg whites) - listed as a light and refreshing cocktail. The cocktail we got was indeed light and refreshing. The best part is that there was...cocktail art where a design was made on top of the egg whites. Beautiful and unique! The cocktail tasted well and we both enjoyed it. The scallop crudo dish sounded interesting with the different ingredients. There were some thin crackers that came with the dish but after a while I opted not to use the cracker to eat the dish. The scallops tasted great and the Iberico ham stock was interesting as it came in a jelly cubed form. The candied pecans gave the dish a sweeter note while the black apple cubes were tart and refreshing. An interesting dish but not our favourite of the night. The Korean fried chicken came in a 3 tiered plating stand where you wrap the fried chicken in the bibb lettuce and add your sauces. The chicken was fried well and was crispy. The three condiments that came with the dish, especially the ssam sauce, tied all the ingredients together and was delicious! Grilled octopus was a good portion - we got 3 tentacle pieces. It was cooked well and the octopus was tender. The artichokes added a tartness which cut through the dish. Overall, a decent dish. The whole grilled Branzino was also great. It came deboned and the char and cook on the fish was perfect. The skin of the fish was still crispy and the dashi butter and trout roe sauce tied the whole dish together. The dashi butter and trout roe definitely was the star of the dish - extremely tasty! Service wise, our server was attentive and friendly. We never felt rushed and the pace of how the food came out was just right. While I was making the reservations it was noted that there would be a 1.5hr seating time limit for parties of 2. We were also told this by the host as well. However, we actually stayed for about 2 hours where we were never rushed out of the restaurant. The patio door is still open if you want to take in the views. My friend and I headed outside after dinner to take a few photos of the skyline at night. Overall, great dining experience, good food, and fantastic views.

This is a good place to hang out with friends over some drinks and a good view of the city. Service was good, friendly staff. They have a good selection of drinks, I primarily had some whisky (Oban) and tequila (Clase Azul) when I visited as well as a couple cocktails (Perpetual Motion & Age of Mass Culture). The food was pretty good as well. Tried the Korean fried chicken with some truffle fries. The chicken wasn't as good as other Korean fried chicken I've had and was a very small portion for the price. Overall this place is on the pricier side but worth a visit.

This bar is extremely upscale and classy, located on top of Hyatt hotel, you get an amazing view of the city. Drinks are expensive, on average 30 per cocktail min. Food is so so. Definitely worth the experience !!!

You get a great view of Toronto skyline with cn tower. Drinks are pricey but that's given based on the area. We had a bottle of wine to share and they give you complimentary popcorn and nuts. Definitely sit at the patio. It is so civet. Great date place

A patio with a view 17 storey up - a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline indeed. The patio itself was chic and elegant, with a mixture of sofa chairs to lounge around, and also with actual table seatings as well. My friend and I chose a table seating, which ended up being wobbly because it rested partially on an uneven slab. Whenever the waiter walked by, the plates and glasses would tremble ferociously. The dishes were small tapas style with not so cheap price tags. For that amount, I expected something sophisticated: Jamon Iberico - slices of meat on grilled tomato flatbread. The flatbread was underwhelming. Foie gras Doughnuts - they were teeny and dainty looking. Tuna tartare - the tuna itself was decent though nothing outstanding. But the seaweed chips that accompanied it were interesting with layers upon layers pressed together. Grilled octopus - came with artichokes and potatoes that sat in a shallow pool of olive oil. Southern Fried maitake mushrooms - the batter was light and not oily. It was served with a creamy dip on the side. This one was my favorite dish of the evening. The server was prompt with his service. But had a hard time dividing the bill. Granted it's not a simple 50/50 split, but I expected him to be able to divide the bill accordingly instead of forcing us to split the bill and worked out the differences between ourselves. Afterall, the Writer's Room Bar is part of the Hyatt Hotel establishment, and I thought the brand was supposed to exude a modern, chic and sophisticated reputation, which, the bar failed to deliver.

We ended up sitting at the bar since we were walk-ins. It is also a very low light restaurant, especially at night. so it might not be the best place for older adults or those who are visually impaired. Service was good, however, we were somewhat forgotten at times since we were tucked away in a dark corner. We ended up ordering the Truffle Fries, the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, the Korean Chicken, and the Vodka Pie. The truffle fries were crisp and plentiful. We added sausage to the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, and it was delicious paired with the pizza. The Korean Chicken were bite sized and flavourful as well. However, The vodka Pie haunts me in my dreams. I think I crave this pizza about every week. The pizza at King Taps has one of the best crusts I've ever had, and the vodka sauce is to die for. It's sad to know that this pizza will rotate out, I'd definitely try it before it leaves! I will be back for the Vodka Pie, mark my words!

We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!

The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.

The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim.
