Great place for afternoon lunch! My friend and I came here to meet for lunch, and they were packed. I soon saw why. They do an incredible job. They have a variety of fresh pastries baked in house, salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps, and specials. The staff were all really friendly, and they took great care of us. I ordered the Reuben, and my friend ordered the chicken caesar salad. Our food came out pretty promptly, and it was hot and fresh. The Rueben was served on grilled rye and was so tasty. Also loved the potato salad and the homemade chips that came with it. I will go back here next time I'm on the North shore around lunchtime. 5 out of 5 stars quickly. Cheers! read more

Coffee Rani is one of my favorite places to go to when I'm home visiting my parents. The crawfish Monica and club sandwich are my top favorites, and their soups are always wonderful. I also love their desserts, though rich, and that they're usually from Zoe's Bakery. If you get in between 11:30-1, it'll be swamped - otherwise, come around 11 for lunch. The dinner menu is the same, and the food is just as good. Everything is reasonably priced, and the parking at this location is way better than the Covington one. read more

My sisters and I went here around Christmas time to order their delicious cakes. We were having such a great time that I didn't even realize I left my phone there. Upon arriving home I then noticed my phone was missing. My stomach dropped since it was going to cost over a thousand dollars to replace and I was visiting from AZ so it was going to be a huge inconvenience. I had zero hopes of ever finding it. My quick minded sister called coffee Rani just to check and to our pleasant surprise, they informed us that it was in fact still on the table. We sat in the back corner of the restaurant so it wasn't noticeable to passersby. I'm grateful for the honesty of the staff members at this restaurant, they restored hope in me that day. I've always been a fan of theirs when I lived in New Orleans and will always be. I can't wait to come back and visit again to enjoy my favorite, the carrot cake. read more

Coffee Rani still reigns supreme as the premiere lunch spot for Mandeville moms. The menu has expanded and their interiors have gotten a glow up, but the classics are still there. Despite the crowd we were able to easily get a table while we waited for our food. I ordered the chicken paillard salad which came a crispy, fried breast, copious amounts of greens, parmesan cheese, and a lemony dressing. It was more than enough food to take home for another serving. After lunch, we went back in line to grab one of their fudge brownies from the dessert case. Very upset because I love this restaurant. Went for dinner and got a strawberry lemonade to drink. A few sips in, a finger nail showed up in my drink. Told a staff member and all that was done was removing the almost full lemonade from the table. Bad experience for sure. read more

My mother and I went there for breakfast and it was both our first times dining in. My mom was so happy with the service overall she had to tell a manager as well as insisted we write a review (her first ever review! That's how great it was!) I ordered a vanilla iced coffee and a summer fruit salad and my mom ordered a regular coffee with steamed milk and the big egg sandwich (she took out the green onions and Mayo and added spinach tho). We both ate every single bite and could not stop complimenting how completely delicious it all was. It was truly a wonderful breakfast! On top of all of it, the service was great. The woman who took our order at the front was helpful in suggesting delicious options and was very nice and re-filled my mom's coffee a couple times with a smile. We ordered some pastries to go too! We can't wait to come back! Highly recommend all of it! The experience, the food, the drinks and the pastries. Overall, a fantastic place to go for breakfast/brunch and really enjoy yourselves. My wife and I love dining at the Coffee Rani location in Mandeville so we thought we would try the location in downtown Covington and boy, were we disappointed! The staff were friendly and the food was good, although could have been warmer when it got to our table. What really through us off was being told that we have to go grab our utensils, napkins and condiments ourselves, which really dampened the experience that we look for when dining out. I could barely hold all of the supplies we needed in both hands, with staff standing around talking amongst themselves... not offering to help. Definitely will not be returning. The Mandeville location is full service, so we'll stick to that one. read more

Coffee Rani is one of my favorite go-to spots in Mandeville. Everyone can always find something they want on the menu. One of my personal favorite is the curried chicken salad, and the caprese grilled cheese is amazing. They also have wonderful specials to check out so there is always something new to try. The brunch is fantastic as well, I enjoyed the avocado toast immensely. I always make sure to save room for dessert too because they have a wonderful selection of cakes, pastries, and baked good. On a hot summer (or spring or fall...heck even winter for that matter) in southeast Louisiana one of my favorite places to eat is Coffee Rani. When it's hot as Hades out and you can fry an egg on the sidewalk there's not much that can beat one of their crisp and cool salads. My personal favorite is the Curried Chicken which is baked chicken, apples, grapes, raisins, walnuts over a bed of fresh greens with curry salad dressing. Yum! Ask for extra dressing...trust me. Order a fresh squeezed lemonade. So fresh I watched them squeeze the lemons myself. That was so good I went back for another to go. It's counter ordering and they give you one of those table number things to know where to bring your food. You also have to get your own silverware, bread, butter etc. at convienently located stations placed around the resturant. If you're in Mandeville you can't go wrong with Coffee Rani. Located in the Pontchartrain Square Shopping center, Coffee Rani has good food at reasonable prices. I always thought it was only a coffee shop, but was pleased to learn it has an extensive menu. After trying it last week, I enjoyed it so much that I came back the next day and several more times since. On my first visit, I dined in. I was not a fan of the way the dining area was set up. While there were some booths, many of the tables were set very close together. I dislike restaurants that do that because it makes having private conversations difficult. Some of the tables also were right next to the area where people ordered or waited in line. Sitting there when there was a line would be a tad awkward. Despite my issues with the dining area, the food has always been very good. The salads are the best I've had on the Northshore. Portions are large enough for a meal, and the ingredients have always been fresh and of high quality. On my first visit, I stayed in my comfort zone and ordered a club salad. On later visits, I decided to trust their salad making expertise and I ordered the Jamacian Jerk salad. Who would have ever imagined a chicken salad with olives, grapes and apples could be so good? I sure didn't, but it was great. I guess the point that I am trying to make is that, the food here is very good. Even if you aren't sure about the listed ingredients, trust that they know what they're doing. In closing, go to Coffee Rani and you'll enjoy it. The line is always so long, there's no circulation space and it takes a long time just to put your order in. This is my go to breakfast and lunch spot! First, I love their iced coffee. I get it with no sweetener and just a splash of cream. It's so smooth, but still robust. I've like all their sandwiches and also their Crawfish Monica pasta. But the standout item that I always order is the Rosa Salad with Chicken. I'm not sure if it's a regular item, because I don't see it on the menu. But it's on a little plaque by the register and on a chalk board. This salad is outstanding. It already has a delicious balsamic vinaigrette on it, then they give you a little container of pesto to pour over top. There's grilled chicken topped with cheese and sliced Roma tomatoes on top that I like to separate and mix in. There's also olives, cherry tomatoes and plenty of fresh Parmesan. I think I could eat this salad everyday. To order here you walk up and stand in like while you peruse the menu. Then after you order and pay, they give you your drinks and number and you find your own table. This is the only thing I don't like about this place. It can be difficult to locate a table and then navigate through the labyrinth with drinks in hand to claim it. You have to go grab your silverware, napkins and perhaps a free slice of delicious sliced bread on the side of the restaurant. They don't give you refills unless you're drinking water. read more
