A popular cafe located in a basement of Coffee Street so look down as you approach. In the AM, you can serve yourself your own drip coffee and use the honor box (~$2). Really convenient as the place is popular and service is always a little slow. They serve standard drip coffee. No pour overs or french press. The muffins are a great snack but they also have a lot of cakes and pies. In the PM, the place becomes a restaurant of some sort with very young, teenage staff and mostly young patrons. It's a bit odd because everyone was so young. I got the sense that they're "playing restaurant" or it's a church group or something. I had the New York cheesecake and enjoyed it along with a decent espresso. Service is really slow. Bring your patience! read more

I love this place. Located underground on coffee street off main in downtown Greenville, I've been coming here since high school. Fun tables/sofas where you can chill with friends, for meetings, family or a date. You can get coffee, dessert or food and play games too. Coffee and desserts are the best...but food is good too. Can get packed in here And you need to wait to be seated but definitely go here. Got the latte and got hot chocolate crap which was great!! Prices are goo too. I love it here, always have. Hands down, best stop in Greenville. I came for brunch today at the recommendation of my hotel manager. This cute spot works as both an eatery and a gallery / theater and has plenty of seating and great jams. Their menu is extensive and very veggie friendly!! Even though it was 10:30 am, I had to try the falafel wrap (and thanks to the staff for being non-judgemental when I did so). It was SO good!! Poor customer service, dirty tables, basic pastries. I'm here at 2:30 pm on a Wednesday, 4 people behind the register but not a single greeting. It's one of those places where you order and pay at the counter, you pick up your drink, and clean after yourself, yet theres a prompt to tip, lol? My friend and I sat at one of the tables and there was as sticky residue and crumbs. I asked the larger woman with red glasses and what looked like a hand brace, for a sanitation rag to wipe down our table. She questioned me like she doubted my need, she pointed to a food napkin and told me to use that. Again, I asked for something with a cleaning solution. She still doubted me and asked if there was food on the table. Again, I said yes. It's sticky and covered in crumbs. She reluctantly went back and brought me the rag. So bizarre. I didn't ask her to clean it for me (though one might expect tables to be cleaned periodically), I simply asked for something so that I may wipe it. Not worth a return trip. First, let's get one thing out of the way, this location is super cool, so admittedly that was a big part of the reason I tried it. It could use some renovation, but it's still a fairly cool environment. The drink was fairly light for a latte, but the foam was decent and the espresso was profiled very nicely. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was super tasty. The wait was a bit longer for a our sandwich, and there was no one who checked in with us while we stood there waiting, but it was also fairly busy, so I wasn't too upset...and the sandwich was worth the wait. If the latte was slightly improved, or the place had been renovated, it wouldn't take much for me to give this a solid 5 stars. Decent espresso in a fun setting!! It is a dimly light place with lots of cushioned seating that would easily cater to groups. There is also a patio with several tables. They had containers of coffee beans from different locations above the coffee bar, and fun decor like a tea pot wind chime with dangling spoons. There is a "red room" that is a quiet area for adults, and a "theater room" where comedy shows are occasionally held. They offer pastries and desserts, and brunch on Sundays. They had several options for espresso and coffee drinks, and they also had craft beer on tap. I tried the s'mores mocha.. I thought it was okay but nothing to write home about. It tasted like a regular latte with no flavoring. Two espresso drinks totaled $7, which I thought was a good deal. Overall, unique location with decent drink options. Very cute coffee shop in the heart of downtown Greenville. The cafe is super cozy with a nice mixture of couches, coffee tables, benches and chairs. You order at the counter and come back to pick it up when they call your name. I got the coconut mocha, which was delicious! The coconut flavor was nicely balanced with the chocolate. I also got the build your own breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and a croissant. The eggs were so good, bacon was perfectly crisp, and the croissant was flaky and buttery. I'm from out of town but me and my family stopped in here for some afternoon treats. First of all there was horrible customer service. The man taking our order was visibly irritated at us asking any questions. I then asked him if the strawberry cake had any nuts or could be cross contaminated and he told us no. My sister is highly allergic to nuts and I write this as we are sitting in the emergency room with her from having an allergic reaction. I called and spoke to a manager about the situation and he replied "sorry about that". This restaurant does not take allergies seriously nor do they understand the scary affects of replying "no" to my question. Solid 5 stars for specific drinks. We tried a bunch but my votes are hazelnut latte and coco-nutty latte. Both drinks are light on the tip of your tongues, puffy and sensual, a palate pleaser, unlike the cappuccino which is like an attack on every of my palates - not sure if it was an one-off mistake they made that day. The coco-nutty is very prominent on the coconut note. A delight!!! It also has a bar, small but sufficient to please a crowd of both drinkers and late-night coffee drinkers as well. From the minute I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the crowd and the small space. The inside is extremely dark, I almost tripped multiple times. The WiFi is an extreme issue. I think it is common knowledge that a coffee shop is a place for people to come and get work done electronically, especially with the abundance of college aged kids in the area. However, it ended up being about impossible for anything to load. They give you a code which just doesn't work at all. So after I waited in line for 20 min, I sat down at a table that was pretty much completely in the dark. I was unable to do any work because 1. The WiFi and 2. The lighting. Personally, I enjoy being able to see the person next to me when I'm in a public setting. After about 30 of waiting for a bagel and a coffee, I received the food, which was good, not great. The tables have high wooden bench ends (which I couldn't see, BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING) and I currently have a large bruise on my left quad from trying to leave this place. The only good part was the motivation for me to finish my coffee so I could go home. Also, they made us wipe down the tables which just annoyed me. Overall, bad experience, I do not recommend. read more

A friend recommended that I check out this place upon hearing that I would be in downtown Greenville for the weekend. And I am so glad she did! Even though it was within walking distance from my Westin hotel, I never would have discovered it on my own. As I was walking down the steps, another girl was exiting and we started chatting. She said everything was so good. I asked what she was holding in her hand or if she had any recommendations. She had the coco-nutty (coconut and hazelnut) iced latte and well, that sounded perfectly fantastic to me! Oh and it was! It was amazing! This is not your typical Starbucks. It is obviously underground, and you only can lounge and use Wi-Fi if you order something. Their menu is hilarious with rules for managing children, don't move the chairs, and a whole history of the owner. It was a bit wild. However there is tons of items you can order. They basically have a full restaurant menu of shakes, sandwiches, coffee drinks, cookies, pastries, I think maybe even salads and other meals and food. I honestly really just wanted to find a good study place with some good grub. The name itself of an underground coffee place intrigued me. I mean who wouldn't want to hole themselves up in a price underground area that has coffee and breakfast. If anything it really puts an emphasis on studying. The layout is very relaxing, the music and people make it the ideal play to just hang with friends. Also if you want to get in the zone to study that works too. I know that it really helped me get some GMAT done and let me tell you it ain't the most interesting subject in the world. The Food was quite scrumptious. I got a light breakfast composed of the drip coffee and the cream cheese cucumber and tomato breakfast sandwich. The coffee was fragrant that had this special rich aroma that makes you want to close your eyes and sigh in relaxation. Literally the best feeling is to wake up in the morning to the smell of coffee wafting in the air and I could see myself having this coffee everyday! The taste has just the right amount of bitterness to hit the spot. Though I have seen that their cappuccino look quite good as well but that will have to wait till next time. The sandwich had fresh cucumber and tomatoes which is always a plus, plus paired together with the smooth cream cheese makes for an excellent texture. As for the cheese buns I was not the biggest fan I think it was toasted a little to much and was harder than I would have liked. Took a mini vacation just to visit the Greenville area and desperately needed some coffee. This place is actually underground and has the coolest vibe to it. Dim lighting, lots of sofas and places to relax. Coffee and food were both amazing and we've gone 4 days in a row now.
