Decided to try this location after some good experiences at the midtown location in Reno. Very, very disappointed. No one there seemed to thrilled to be working a Saturday morning. Gal that took our order was blah, not to welcoming and half asleep. Same for the gal making the espresso. Ordered 2 - 8 oz. Lattes in house with one having some raw sugar in cup. Also ordered a breakfast burrito and pumpkin pecan muffin for in house dining. Received muffin in to go box, burrito took forever to be heated and handed out, no plate. And the drinks....o m g. Both served in to go cups. I mentioned to the gal making the drinks that we ordered in house (mugs) and she half heartedly said she could remake them. I declined and asked which had the sugar. She looked at be blankly and said there was no notes on the order for sugar but I could just grab some from behind me and add it? Interesting reaction and suggested fix but no thanks. Beyond that the latte was average at best and same for the food items. We will not be back, to any Coffee Bar location. Plenty of coffee shops who would at least seem happy to have customers come through the doors and much better espresso to be had as well. read more

Came to this location twice on different days and times, something always went wrong. Even the 3rd time we went to the coffeebar location in downtown Truckee messed up our order too. Service is pretty bad. They try to make themselves look "inclusive" with their "you belong here" stickers and flags everywhere, but the workers all look like they were plucked from the same place -- they're all young adult Caucasian women. No one of color, no men. What's also crazy is that there's like 10 of them, but more than half aren't working. They're just standing around chatting and twiddling their thumbs. I don't know how you get an order of 2 cold brews, 1 Americano, and 1 latte wrong. Only 1 cold brew came out and when we asked for the 2nd one, they all asked each other to make it. Waited awhile, still no cold brew. Had to ask AGAIN and they all looked confused, asking each other "who is making it??" Can I get my tip back? This is the crazy thing about having to tip before receiving service now. They all talk and move very slowly ...so weird. They don't look happy being there? They also ran out of oat milk, so they couldn't make any of their specialty lattes (both of which are quite overly sweet anyways). They don't offer 2% milk either. Coffee is okay, a bit on the sour side. Overall, I'd say coffeebar is worse than Starbucks so next time I'm back in the area, I'll unfortunately just have to give my business to a better running and better managed mega corporation. read more

We were vacationing in Truckee and stumbled upon this place, and we love it! The drip coffee was very good (much more to my liking than Peets or Starbucks) and I like that they offer several "milk" options, including heavy cream. My family of 5 tried several of the bakery options, and they were all quite good. There was a case that was dedicated to gluten-free options, and we tried a few of them, too--they were great, without regard to any disclaimer. Service was very good, and the owner was onsite, which probably makes a difference. read more

Terrible service and a nasty barista. Long line to order coffee while several employees standing around looking for something to do. All that would have been ok, but the barista had a terrible attitude. When I kindly suggested that it'd be more efficient if he would take orders from people in line so that the coffee would be ready after paying, like most places do, he told me that if I don't like the way they do it that I should somewhere else. I brought CoffeeBar drinks and a cinnamon bun to my neighbor who pressure washed my deck for me when I was sick. He freaking LOVED the cinnamon bun. I told my daughter who manages the front of the store (full disclosure), "Tom said the cinnamon bun was outstanding." And she merely replied, "Yes, of course it's is." Blasé around the house? Wow! We were in town visiting family and ate at this location all 3 mornings. The second morning, my husband and I ordered and didn't really notice until we left that we thought we might have been overcharged a significant amount for what we had ordered. But, we were in a hurry so we left (without a receipt) and came back the next morning. When we told them what we thought might have happened, there was a line to order, so they asked us to write down what we got and they would look up the transaction. What happened? Coffee bar was our go to place but the food and coffee has changed, and not for the better. The cold brew today was bitter and watered down. The gluten free muffin was a brick. Awesome coffee & awesome baked goods! Stumbled upon this bakery while on vacation with my family in Truckee. The prior day we had some terrible, watery, poor quality coffee, so we were really looking for a good cup of coffee to wake us up the next morning. Coffee bar fulfilled that craving entirely. I got a hot matcha latte, and my family got a medium americano and a small latte. All of our drinks were superb. Strong coffee, good quality milk, and well balanced. We also got a few pastries: the brioche cinnamon roll, bacon frittata, the green wheel & their ham and cheese croissant. Everything was freshly baked and delicious. I have no complaints and will definitely come back if I'm in the area, and recommend you do the same! read more

Amazing pastries. I had the apple spiced scone and it was perfect. A large triangle of chewy, dense, and flavorful goodness. If you like scones on the drier side, this might not be the one, but I found it super delicious paired with their seasonal autumn orange spiced chai. There is plenty of outdoor seating and their service is fast and friendly. A great stop for any occasion - whether you're on your way in/out of Tahoe through Truckee or a snack break for your bike ride. read more

Don't regret stopping here exhausted on a Sunday after skiing. The coffee was a warm welcome after drinking Starbucks all weekend. My caramel machiatto wasn't too sweet and the espresso was lovely. I'm honestly amazed at how delicious this place is. Delicious coffee and food, and allergen friendly! I can't eat dairy or gluten, and I got a Whoopi pie, chocolate banana muffin, and chocolate Bundt cake and I'm not allergic to any of it - IT IS SO GOOD WORDS DONT DO IT JUSTICE. I came here on the morning of a quick weekend getaway. The whole trip was spur of the moment and I did not have much time to research in advance where to eat/drink. Doing a quick search landed me on their page and when I read lavender latte and pumpkin donut holes I was sold. Got here around 9:30 and there was a line out the door. Parking was plentiful and the weather agreeable, so I didn't mind. Once I got to the front I realized what may have caused the line and wait was that the music (though good) was a bit loud and hard for the cashier to hear me or me to hear them. There was a lot of repeating that ultimately resulted in a smaller size of the drink that I wanted. Oh and the milk options apparently do not include nonfat or 2%. Anyway, as I waited I saw I could have ordered online and picked up from a table tucked away in the corner (probably what the locals do). Online it said the donut holes were sold out, but in person that wasn't the case. The donut holes could have used more pumpkin and less nutmeg (according to my partner) but I thought they were yummy (more like moist muffins than donuts). As far as my drink, I throughly enjoyed my Lavender Latte though I maybe should have gone with the Vietnamese coffee because I later desperately needed caffeine. $14 got me a 16oz drink and half a dozen donut holes. There was outdoor dining options, but I decided to grab my drink and sweets to go. I visited three cafes on my weekend getaway and if I had to choose one, it would not be this one to dine at as others have a better outdoor setup. I would, however, grab and go again. read more

On our way out of Truckee this week my husband ran in and got us coffees. Holy heck! Our americanos were SO delicious. They almost reminded us of drinking a latte -- they were that creamy and good. The only downside was our coffees were SO freaking hot that we had to wait a good 30 minutes before drinking them. We also had their blackberry scone which was big enough for us to split and it was amazing! I've always loved their scones in the past but this one was just really even better than I had remembered. Then enter in Coffeebar Bakery like a beacon of hope and miracles. Delicious, moist, perfect texture GLUTEN-FREE baked goods.... just sitting there. And not just 2 or 3, no no. We're talking half the case if not more! Christmas brings chocolate mint ganache cupcakes, fall brings pumpkin cheesecake filled cupcakes, summer has raspberry lemon tarts..... all gluten free! This place is fantastic! My husband and I stopped in this morning to grab a cup of coffee and some breakfast on our way out of Tahoe. I had read good reviews and wanted to give them a try. We were definitely not disappointed! From the time we walked in the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. The first thing we saw were the 2 cases of a huge variety of pastries and sweets and the hard task of choosing just a couple of items began. We ended up with a piece of coffee cake and a dozen pumpkin donut holes. I also ordered an iced honey almond latte with almond milk. If you need a pastry suggestion, get the coffee cake! Blueberry and cinnamon streusel combined in a moist and flavorful combination that was a delightful breakfast treat. Highly recommend. My husband was delighted with his pumpkin donut holes, though they are actually more like mini-muffins. He thought they were super tasty. The iced latte was good and I was very pleased to have dairy free options. It wasn't super flavorful (I really couldn't taste either the honey or the almond) but it was still yummy. Overall we would definitely stop in here again, and next time we're definitely getting more pastries! read more

Girl taking my order read back my order and asked which drinks I got to make sure, but still somehow messed up? The possibly owners wife who was working, Jen I presume, is a raging bitch. She was rude and was giving attitude. She was getting upset because I didn't know what drink was mine out of 3 on counter. (I ordered 2, 1 iced chai with pumpkin "syrup" and oat milk & 1 hot chai same way ) I asked if they had pumpkin syrup , asked if it was vegan they said yes to both. They messed up the order and gave me 1 iced chai, 1 iced pumpkin latte & 1 hot pumpkin latte. Not at all what I asked for! Also had to pay for another drink I didn't order?! Horrible customer service. It's crazy because the possible owners wife is the one who confirmed the pumpkin syrup and it being vegan. When it is actually a powered and most likely wasn't vegan. For being the owners wife, you would think she would know the right information. She also gave me & my girlfriend attitude when I was getting both of my foods asking which one was mine and she said "well did you look inside? Was it what you ordered?" "And then I would pick something up to look, and she would rudely say" nope not that one" Im not trying to touch other people's food!! Maybe tell me?! Have better customer service? I was very surprised with the atmosphere, coffee and baked goods at this amazing coffee shop that I stumbled upon. They have quality house roasted beans and expert grade baked goods. Many options for those gluten free and vegan too! (Highly recommend the chocolate Bundt cake and keto coffee) To top it all off the staff was very hospitable and made each drink perfect. Art is all over the cups and walls and gives this place a truly authentic feel. Will stop by every time I drive to North Lake. read more

A MUST if you like bakeries and GLUTEN FREE. This bakery is very inclusive and welcomes everyone, hence, the unity flag sign on their door. I went here yesterday with a friend who has many dietary restrictions and is also celiac. The ladies behind the counter were so helpful and even pulled the ingredients lists for us and gave us a breakdown on how they avoid cross contamination of wheat. I hate to leave a bad review, especially at a mom n pop type place, but the cinnamon bun was horrible. The "bun" was dry and flavorless with not nearly enough cinnamon. The icing was so bad that after one taste I cut it up and gave it to my dogs. (I love sweets and never do that!) My husband is addicted to sweets and even he didn't eat his! I think I just had my favorite cappuccino here (very smooth and not bitter at all), even though I don't normally drink coffee. This is a little coffee bar with a selection of freshly baked goods and a couple of tables where you can sit down. It's not a coffee shop to spend your afternoon working on your laptop, it's really more a takeaway place. read more

Lots of pluses on this shop. So much that I intend to try it again to see for sure. Stopped by for a post morning walk, coffee and pastry; they both hit the spot. The cheese scone was also a win. Friendly staff made for a welcoming morning. The downside were the two cupcake options. I took home both a red velvet and carrot cupcake; while not awful neither was all that good. The carrot was bland and dryer than expected. The red velvet was dry and had a "fresh from frozen" or "day old" dryness to ir. The frosting was the same on both and lacked sharpness and brightness which would have helped the rather bland cupcakes. But as I say, the morning pastries were so good, I would still go back. read more
