So very disappointed in this place. Went once last year around July 4th and liked what I had, with great service. Wow what a difference a year makes! Staff couldn't tell what was keto/low carb/gluten free items were, couldn't answer even One question about their offerings. Either you need staff that gives a damn or a whole new retraining on your bakery offerings, how to be a decent human, etc. This bakery is not cheap and is very popular but won't be for long if the service I received doesn't improve quickly. Not to be confused with the Coffeebar downtown which is also solid, Coffeebar Bakery is a cut above the rest and is one of the best morning spots in Truckee. We've been several times and absolutely love their hot chocolate and vanilla lattes. For food, our faves are the made-to-order Croissant Breakfast Sandwich; the fresh-made cinnamon rolls with heaps of cream; and the Breakfast Burrito. All def hit the spot. Limited seating but for a quick in and out, you'll be good to go. Service js quick and everyone is super nice. read more

Ok I am a sucker for a good pastry. This blueberry scone had it all. The blueberry ratio was fantastic. The icing on top was perfect, not overly sweet just the right amount. The texture of the scone was thick and buttery. Dirty chai was decent I like more of a spiced chai and this was a bit on the sweeter side. read more

I visited for the first time Friday and had a disappointing experience. Spent $35 on 2 dirty iced oat milk chai, an egg croissant, muffin and a tip. Seemed pricey to me- but I rationalized that the convenience (and pleasure!) of getting coffees at a location just off the freeway to enjoy during my several hour drive was worth it. It was not. The food was fine. The drinks were bad. Mine tasted like melted ice with a hint of cinnamon. My daughter's had a bit more spice and a bit of sweetener. Neither tasted like chai or coffee. Neither was drinkable. So, normally I would give a business the chance to make it right before leaving a bad review. But I didn't try the coffee until I was already back on the highway and I wasn't going to head back. Not only did I waste my money, we didn't even get our coffee fix. :( read more

Decided to try this location after some good experiences at the midtown location in Reno. Very, very disappointed. No one there seemed to thrilled to be working a Saturday morning. Gal that took our order was blah, not to welcoming and half asleep. Same for the gal making the espresso. Ordered 2 - 8 oz. Lattes in house with one having some raw sugar in cup. Also ordered a breakfast burrito and pumpkin pecan muffin for in house dining. Received muffin in to go box, burrito took forever to be heated and handed out, no plate. And the drinks....o m g. Both served in to go cups. I mentioned to the gal making the drinks that we ordered in house (mugs) and she half heartedly said she could remake them. I declined and asked which had the sugar. She looked at be blankly and said there was no notes on the order for sugar but I could just grab some from behind me and add it? Interesting reaction and suggested fix but no thanks. Beyond that the latte was average at best and same for the food items. We will not be back, to any Coffee Bar location. Plenty of coffee shops who would at least seem happy to have customers come through the doors and much better espresso to be had as well. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but there are just so many issues. Staff seems totally checked out, music is way too loud, unreliable GF bread schedule. The last 2 times I went in, they messed up my friend's order and the staff seemed to think that wearing their pajamas to work is somehow professional. When I sat down to work, the staff was blasting the music so loud (clearly unaware, that there's like customers that they are serving) that I could barely work on my laptop. Came to this location twice on different days and times, something always went wrong. Even the 3rd time we went to the coffeebar location in downtown Truckee messed up our order too. Service is pretty bad. They try to make themselves look "inclusive" with their "you belong here" stickers and flags everywhere, but the workers all look like they were plucked from the same place -- they're all young adult Caucasian women. No one of color, no men. What's also crazy is that there's like 10 of them, but more than half aren't working. They're just standing around chatting and twiddling their thumbs. I don't know how you get an order of 2 cold brews, 1 Americano, and 1 latte wrong. Only 1 cold brew came out and when we asked for the 2nd one, they all asked each other to make it. Waited awhile, still no cold brew. Had to ask AGAIN and they all looked confused, asking each other "who is making it??" Can I get my tip back? This is the crazy thing about having to tip before receiving service now. They all talk and move very slowly ...so weird. They don't look happy being there? They also ran out of oat milk, so they couldn't make any of their specialty lattes (both of which are quite overly sweet anyways). They don't offer 2% milk either. Coffee is okay, a bit on the sour side. Overall, I'd say coffeebar is worse than Starbucks so next time I'm back in the area, I'll unfortunately just have to give my business to a better running and better managed mega corporation. read more

I brought CoffeeBar drinks and a cinnamon bun to my neighbor who pressure washed my deck for me when I was sick. He freaking LOVED the cinnamon bun. Wow! We were in town visiting family and ate at this location all 3 mornings. The second morning, my husband and I ordered and didn't really notice until we left that we thought we might have been overcharged a significant amount for what we had ordered. But, we were in a hurry so we left (without a receipt) and came back the next morning. When we told them what we thought might have happened, there was a line to order, so they asked us to write down what we got and they would look up the transaction. Awesome coffee & awesome baked goods! Stumbled upon this bakery while on vacation with my family in Truckee. The prior day we had some terrible, watery, poor quality coffee, so we were really looking for a good cup of coffee to wake us up the next morning. Coffee bar fulfilled that craving entirely. I got a hot matcha latte, and my family got a medium americano and a small latte. All of our drinks were superb. Strong coffee, good quality milk, and well balanced. We also got a few pastries: the brioche cinnamon roll, bacon frittata, the green wheel & their ham and cheese croissant. Everything was freshly baked and delicious. I have no complaints and will definitely come back if I'm in the area, and recommend you do the same! read more

Amazing pastries. I had the apple spiced scone and it was perfect. A large triangle of chewy, dense, and flavorful goodness. If you like scones on the drier side, this might not be the one, but I found it super delicious paired with their seasonal autumn orange spiced chai. There is plenty of outdoor seating and their service is fast and friendly. I came here on the morning of a quick weekend getaway. The whole trip was spur of the moment and I did not have much time to research in advance where to eat/drink. Doing a quick search landed me on their page and when I read lavender latte and pumpkin donut holes I was sold. Got here around 9:30 and there was a line out the door. Parking was plentiful and the weather agreeable, so I didn't mind. Once I got to the front I realized what may have caused the line and wait was that the music (though good) was a bit loud and hard for the cashier to hear me or me to hear them. There was a lot of repeating that ultimately resulted in a smaller size of the drink that I wanted. Oh and the milk options apparently do not include nonfat or 2%. Anyway, as I waited I saw I could have ordered online and picked up from a table tucked away in the corner (probably what the locals do). Online it said the donut holes were sold out, but in person that wasn't the case. The donut holes could have used more pumpkin and less nutmeg (according to my partner) but I thought they were yummy (more like moist muffins than donuts). As far as my drink, I throughly enjoyed my Lavender Latte though I maybe should have gone with the Vietnamese coffee because I later desperately needed caffeine. $14 got me a 16oz drink and half a dozen donut holes. There was outdoor dining options, but I decided to grab my drink and sweets to go. I visited three cafes on my weekend getaway and if I had to choose one, it would not be this one to dine at as others have a better outdoor setup. I would, however, grab and go again. read more

I was very surprised with the atmosphere, coffee and baked goods at this amazing coffee shop that I stumbled upon. They have quality house roasted beans and expert grade baked goods. Many options for those gluten free and vegan too! (Highly recommend the chocolate Bundt cake and keto coffee) To top it all off the staff was very hospitable and made each drink perfect. This place is fantastic! My husband and I stopped in this morning to grab a cup of coffee and some breakfast on our way out of Tahoe. I had read good reviews and wanted to give them a try. We were definitely not disappointed! From the time we walked in the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. The first thing we saw were the 2 cases of a huge variety of pastries and sweets and the hard task of choosing just a couple of items began. We ended up with a piece of coffee cake and a dozen pumpkin donut holes. I also ordered an iced honey almond latte with almond milk. If you need a pastry suggestion, get the coffee cake! Blueberry and cinnamon streusel combined in a moist and flavorful combination that was a delightful breakfast treat. Highly recommend. My husband was delighted with his pumpkin donut holes, though they are actually more like mini-muffins. He thought they were super tasty. The iced latte was good and I was very pleased to have dairy free options. It wasn't super flavorful (I really couldn't taste either the honey or the almond) but it was still yummy. Overall we would definitely stop in here again, and next time we're definitely getting more pastries! read more
