Siam Cuisine is located a few minutes drive away from the hub of Truckee's shopping and dining scene. Tucked away in a small shopping plaza, it seems to be a popular locals place with regulars stopping in for take out as well as nearly every table full by 6 on a Saturday. Staff is warm and friendly and the food is amazing. I got the red curry with tofu and veggie rolls, while my partner got the pineapple fried rice which they were able to add chicken to. Portions are huge and definitely shareable. My curry was very flavorful and had some bite even on the mildest spice level. Tucked away from the Main Street love this location! Easy parking in the back. Service was friendly and fast. Food excellent flavors. Thai options around Truckee's ski areas are pretty limited. When a Thai restaurant is serving Chinese-style appetizers like crab rangoons and potstickers, it's usually a sign the menu isn't very authentic. Unfortunately, our takeout order ended up being a letdown. read more

If there's a ski resort, there's always some decent Thai food! Had this place twice now and it's pretty good! But I do have to say service is SOOOO slow for having only 4 tables seated, we had to wave them down every single time and a server never came to check in or refill waters, the service is mainly why I had to deduct stars... sorry :/ So far I've had the hangover noodles, the panang curry and yellow curry, and the Tom yum. Huge Tom yum fan, and this one was pretty good. Not too spicy either. The curries are good, but I wouldn't say there's anything special about them they taste as they're supposed to. As far as the hangover noodles, it has sooooo much potential bc it's so good but where the heck are the noodles?! Both times we ordered bc it's good but it lacks noodles. We have been going to Thai restaurants in that space for a very long time, and have gone to Siam Cuisine a few times. We ordered take out and it was extremely disappointing. The drunken noodles must have been prepared by someone who was under the influence, as they were so overcooked they were just mush. Also, the online order app was difficult to use. I ordered our food in cardboard, and the dishes came in plastic. We will never go back. read more

First off, food was excellent. Had all the Thai flavors you would expect from well known Thai restaurants. So I was surprised that Truckee had a gem Siam. Ambiance is nothing fancy, just like a typical mom and pop Asian style vibe, probably trinkets from Thailand. Service was okay, they definitely look like they're trying their best. Panang curry was nice, a little heavy with the coconut milk than I'm use to, but it was a good change. The drunken noodles were my fave, the flavors and noodle hit the spot. Tom yum is definitely not for everyone, it has a nice sourness from probably lemon or lemon grass. read more

We have been here twice in two days while visiting Tahoe. They are on the lower level of the building so it's better to park on the street. They welcomed us in, though one of the times we were all geared up in our snow fit and they didn't seem to mind. We had ordered the pad see ew and that was by far one of the best I have had. That is also one of the reasons we came back a second time. Very flavorful. We also ordered pad thai, which was also flavorful. Can't really go wrong stopping by here. Across from here if you want to go sledding, is a great place to sled with kids. The service was great and he was very informative with all the questions we asked. Please save your money and time and go somewhere else. We stopped by for a pick-up order since we were traveling. Despite only one other person in the restaurant, my order took about 30 mins for curry, soup, and a salad. The guy at the front who looks Hispanic but was most likely Thai due to his accent was extremely rude. He was hostile and was prepping what looks like thai tea from a pot on the dirty floor. I asked him for utensils and napkins and he gave me one fork and ONE NAPKIN for multiple dishes. I had to ask for an spoon since I ordered soup. When we left, I noticed that my curry didn't come with rice. I called and he said "I didn't ask for it" and hung up. Rice automatically comes with curry in all the Thai restaurants I've always eaten at. This place is a joke and I'll never do business with them again. read more

Came here for a friend's bday dinner after a long day of snow sports. Food came out relatively quick. Solid service, they provided icecream for the friend. We got here before the rush; within 10 minutes after 6:15PM, there was a line out of the door. The space may feel a bit small but it is cozy. Flavors of the food is really bold which I appreciate. Some of the sauces of the noodles (pad thai, pad se eew, hangover noodles) were a bit too sweet for my preference but my friends enjoyed the pad se eew the most. It was also the most recommended by the owner. Medium to large portions for the price. Great food for being out in a snow resort town. Tom kha gai soup was like drinking sugary soup to the point I was having trouble finishing a small 4 oz bowl. Hangover noodle and spicy crispy catfish were also too sweet. The catfish dish tasted ok because at least the spiciness helped overcome the sweetness of the dish. We came here a couple time before and both times we thought the restaurant could do better, that's the reason we came back 2 more times in the past few years. Will give it another shot next year or so. Service was friendly, price was reasonable, and the inside is pretty cozy. Outside, they place nice flower pots, very inviting. The definition of mediocre food. Just full of salt and msg and sticky syrup. The good side is that the portions are big. But the service is gruff and the ambiance is meh. There wasn't a wait, but we (party of five) were seated at the back corner right next to an overflowing trash can, and miscellaneous dishes. Place was decently decorated apart from this, just a touch crowded. Prices were hand marked up on their menu - pricey overall. I enjoyed the pad see ew with chicken, spice was good. The others I was with also enjoyed the yellow and red curries. Really didn't feel good about the fact that my dish was served in a paper plate. Like, I see actual dishes in the rack next to me. I would love to be writing this review about their food but unfortunately didn't get the chance. Made. reservation for 8, a day prior, and received a confirmation. Arrived for said reservation only to be completely ignored but all staff. Went to find someone and they wouldn't quite acknowledge we even had a reservation but assured us it wouldn't be long. Waited 30 minutes before giving up and leaving. No one in there looked happy. Everyone looked like they were either waiting for their food or waiting for a check, but all equally ignored. I am from the Bay Area and have been to Thailand. The food here is as good as any Thai food in the Bay Area plus there are 75 different entrées available for dinner. You can choose five levels of spiciness. We chose number three and we probably should've chosen number two even though I like hot food. Good Thai restaurants always have an additional four types of spices you can add to your food. Siam cuisine brought the four types of spices to the table for dinner. The prices for entrées were half of what exists in old Truckee. Plenty of tasty Thai food was served with each entry. The restaurant does not cut back on portion size. The service was excellent. The ambience was that of a nice restaurant which made it even better because the food was so good. read more

My family has been coming to this restaurant for years whenever we visit Truckee, and it's a family favorite! Even during the peak of tourist season during winter break, there is always usually availability for seating. It's nice and quiet in the restaurant as well, and service is quick and attentive! The food is always super flavorful and filling! For a first-timer, I would recommend the chicken satay or any of their curries (they're all wonderful!). Food poisoning 5/15/25, lunch specials. Short staffed, the tables and chairs are sticky and gross. The condiment tray they gave us was dingy and several of the sauces looked spoiled and / or were empty.
