Coffeebar was 5 stars when we first started going here years ago, the coffee is still spot on, but some of our favorites are no longer on the menu (the veg sandwiches & a few others are sadly gone.) The other pastries are still good, but just a bit different than what they used to be. (Still delicious don't get me wrong, just not what I was used to expecting.) Love the coffee here and they have a good selection of pastries, something for everyone in my picky family. I was disappointed recently when I stopped in for a cappuccino and the line was out the door and through the patio. But, it's such great coffee, it is worth the wait. My friend and I stopped here on our way home to Sac. The latte I ordered tasted like tobacco with sunflower seeds which I think is due to burning the almond milk from steaming it too hot. First of all I wish I could give them no STARS!! Went in on Sunday morning close to 11:25ish I placed my order for two Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich placed my order at 11:29..... then after 15 minutes I noticed they were taking a long long time for just a simple sandwich nothing special about it but apparently it's too difficult for them. Had one guy in the cashier doing multiple things then two teenagers just "working" talking about who knows. Clearly not doing their job, then new staff comes in maybe they will speed things up... Nope! Let's all hug each other & talk about our weekend. While their is a long line & the poor cashier is multiple tasking orders & refills. Very unprofessional I understand it's good to see your coworkers however personal conversations shouldn't take place more then 10 minutes. After 11:50 I ask the cashier what's taking so long and guess what?? He says " they're just now doing your order". Seriously??? I had to wait more then 20 minutes just so they can now start working on it plus don't forget it's just a simple sandwich!!!! Finally around 12:15 both sandwiches were finally done!!! Wow!! I've been to the Reno and Menlo Park locations, and this one didn't quite measure up. Let me be clear: it wasn't bad at all, and I don't doubt that it's likely the best coffee in this town. Some good things: They had an EPL game on a large screen, which sufficiently entertained my daughter while we were waiting for her hot chocolate. There was also very kawaii latte art on the hot chocolate (possibly the reason it took a little long). The espresso was poured competently. The prices are decent. But the one not-so-good thing is that they didn't preheat my espresso cup, making my single shot (yes, they pour singles - a rarity) a little frustratingly lukewarm. I can't imagine many complaints about Coffeebar. It's a cafe, it's a bar. There's seasonal drinks, HH, mimosas on Sundays, a clean gender neutral bathroom, WiFi, indoor seating AND, a huge beautiful outdoor, dog-friendly patio. If coffee isn't your thing, they also have teas & tea lattes. There's also a small parking lot. It's my usual coffee spot when we come through truckee. I love their regular lattes and seasonal ones also. The Orange Blossom iced latte is a flavor explosion of delicious espresso and citrus and perfectly balanced. Read: not too sweet! Boyfriend loves the cold brew--"it's so good! I don't know how it's not acidic at all." The service is always quick and friendly. There's vegan/vegetarian snack options. I usually get the avocado toast or a grain bowl. The ham & cheese croissant is flaky, crispy and flavorful--not overwhelmingly buttery. I have been a regular customer of the same business in Menlo, Park and Redwood City, and have been a very good customer for years on a weekly basis. I had never been to this particular outlet, but the experience was bad from start to finish. The drink quality was very poor and the Tried to charge me twice because their online order system was not working and she would not except my explanation. When I told her the drinks from the prior day were of bad quality, she refused to do anything about it since she said that was yesterday and this is today. The woman there acknowledge they had a new barista who probably messed up the order but there's nothing she was going to do about it and I just got my drink today and it is of the same. Poor quality. We were shopping around in downtown Truckee on a Saturday afternoon and lunch spots with outdoor seating were hard to come by without a long wait. Coffeebar has a lot of outdoor seating and is set back a block from the busyness of it all. We all got lunch and enjoyed. We got a variety of bowls, a burrito, and the kids got soup and grilled cheese. Also got a lion roll which is like a morning bun with some pepper in it? It was delicious. Also got iced teas and some cold canned beer. All good and we would reorder! The location is great, decor is cute and has a great vibe. They have bathrooms inside as well as kids high chairs. I got the most delicious sweet potato hash bowl (added bacon of course) and we sat outside under the beautiful morning sun. The dressing on this is mouthwatering and the combination of proteins and herbs and are point! They have a small garden on the front patio they're pulling greens and herbs from! They also have WiFi if you want to surf while enjoying your coffee. Staff: The guy that took our order was pretty knowledgeable about coffee. Hubs wasn't sure what he wanted and the guy asked what kind of coffee he was looking for and gave him a bunch of recommendations based on what hubs said. Coffee: We were pleasantly surprised by the coffee. I ordered a mocha and hubs ordered a cappuccino. Their roast is on the darker side for our tastes but it was still ok. They made the coffee well. We used to come here more often but stopped when we found other local coffee shops that were better but based on this recent visit and how much better it is now, this may be our more frequented coffee stop. read more

Best vanilla oat latte I've ever had!! Avocado toast was good but maybe a tad too much lemon juice since it was a little watery. Excellent cinnamon roll. Love that they had green juice bottled to go! The frittatas should be baked in a large sheet pan and then cut into servings as we lost 20% of the portion due to it sticking to the (very cute) container.. and it held moisture so it was a little watery. The staff wasn't super friendly, which was our experience at a few places in truckee but I guess that's okay. Maybe adjusting to being back at work. Regardless, FABULOUS coffee and patio. Getting coffee in this area after the morning is not as easy as one would hope. We were happy to find this place for a nice pick me up before dinner. It is located just a short walk off the main strip through town. They have a lot to offer beyond coffee including pastries. We were just in need of coffee though. I kept it simple and ordered a cappuccino. It was very good. The flavor was on point and it was smooth. During normal times this is probably a solid place to grab a seat and enjoy your drink. I loooooooooooove coffeebar. Both of them. They have a wonderful selection of gluten pastries as well as nice "heat up" food. But their coffee is what keeps me coming back. I'm a decaf drinker these days. Most decaf is admittedly acidic at best and craptastic at worst. But not here. Nope. Smoooooooth as silk. No acidity that my tender tummy can detect. No bitterness. Just amazing "doesn't taste decaf" goodness. So good, hubby that loves coffee so strong it would give a toddler chest hair, he had no clue he accidently drank my decaf ground at home! The have wonderful lattes, teas, and seasonal drinks. Their house made vanilla syrup is awesome. They their lavendar tea. And in the summer, get it iced with blackberry syrup. After asking for the decaf, the worker said I have to stand in a long line all over again and re-order. I am obsessed with this place. We spent two weeks in Tahoe and went here almost every day. We tried 8 different drinks and they were all INCREDIBLE. (The mexican mocha is really spicy just heads up!)
