This is a cool spot to visit as a tourist in Truckee. It's a pretty happening coffee bar with a lot of eccentric flavors. For my taste it didn't quite hit the spot I tried one of their specialty is that they're known for hey honey lavender latte. I'm usually pretty generous with trying new things but this just did not wow me. I don't think I could find myself going back just because the place is cool. I was happy to find almond milk and soy as one of the choices for my latte, not to mention the pretty heart that was designed in my foam. Nice touch! Although I didn't order any food, they have a really great looking selection from treats to full meals. They also have free Wifi! My first visit to Coffeebar was actually in Reno years ago; I had a lavender latte that was divine. When we stopped in Truckee for a quick bite, my boyfriend mentioned that there's another Coffeebar location just a block away, so I knew that I have to go there to get my mid-day caffeine fix. Upon arrival, they truly did not disappoint. The cozy, yet refreshing atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. There's ample seating inside and out in the patio with plenty of folks hanging out or getting their work done. The coffee is great, regardless of what you order. I decided to be a bit adventurous and ordered one of their seasonal drink, an apple spice chai with house made cider and oat milk. It was like drinking an apple and oat crumble in a cup! My boyfriend had a delicious mocha that warmed him up on that freezing day. Great coffee shop with friendly, helpful staff. Was staying 20 minutes away and wanted to do a little sight seeing and check out the little town of Truckee. While walking around on a warm sunny day, we felt like refreshing ourselves with a coffee drink and found this place on Yelp. It's located a street behind the main road so we would have easily missed it just walking around. We are no strangers to perfectionist coffee shops, and I'd say this is one of them. I had some questions about their chai, and was told their chai is house made starting with full leaf tea. They also make alot of their flavored syrups, with fresh ingredients and I loved that about the time they put into the little things! They also have pastries, and healthy breakfast/lunch options. I ended up ordering an almond milk late and my husband had an iced americano. My espresso in my drink was so smooth, and not bitter. My husband's iced americano satisfied him the same. Thee original Coffeebar is also the only one I've ever been too, and it has NOT disappointed. Each time we visit Truckee, this is a primary stop of ours. Whether it's a mid day pick me up or crack of dawn in the morning, it's always the highlight of my day. Being a coffee freak, I enjoy their obsession with coffee and attention to detail when making their drinks. They have AMAZING espresso and you must try the Gibralter if you haven't been here before! They also have an assortment of pastries and treats but I know they sell out of a lot of things fairly quick. They have seating both inside and out, however, outside is the best in my opinion due to the fact that your in the mountains and can enjoy the fresh air and chill vibes from Truckee. The baristas' here are all very cheerful and generally locals whom use this as a bridge job between there gigs at the local resorts during ski season, so that equals super chill 'ski bum' baristas!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! We were waiting 45 minutes for a piece of avocado toast while other tables who were behind us received our food and had finished we were still waiting. Staff was extremely disrespectful and started to blame the customer for not preparing our food. Almost didn't give a refund till another adult came up and said something with us. This business is just extremely disrespectful and overall not worth the price. Finally, they gave us three different stories on why we did not receive our food and we had 2 other groups come up and talk to us about how they have the same experience as us and just can't believe how horrible the service is for the price! Will never be coming back. Update: the women who was extremely disrespectful is the women who wears a beanie named Hannah. We came back to make sure refund was being issued (it was not) so then we finally had them check and Hannah was being so disrespectful once again rolling her eyes at us, glaring and overall not giving good customer service. Great spot to warm up at during the winter. Huge menu of food and drinks. So many milk varieties available so there's something for everyone. I ordered an oat milk turmeric latte, I personally love when they're very flavorful so I definitely enjoyed the ~spice~ level. The outdoor seating area is large and has a lot of seats available. It is needed because the inside is very small. That being said, both the outside and inside are decorated modern with lots of wood and clean lines. It gets a 3 star review because I could only get decaf espresso and not coffee. I know, people ordering decaf are outliers, but Coffeebar tries to accommodate every other conceivable food sensitivity. Sorry, decaf americanos suck. The pastries and parfait were really good. Since he's a bit of a coffee snob, I wanted to make sure that we went somewhere good - otherwise, I wouldn't hear the end of it! Thankfully, Yelp was able to help us find Coffeebar! Coffeebar not only offers amazing beverages, but also baked goods, and various food options! During our weeklong stay in Truckee, we stopped by Coffeebar multiple times - my fiance found his go-to drink, the honey almond latte, and I was able to find my old faithful, hot chocolate. I ordered a breakfast croissant, they were out of avocado (disappointing) and I asked that they hold the bacon, my food arrived microwaved to death. What I'm assuming started out as a lovely flakey croissant was presented to me a greasy smashed solid mass of dry over microwaved egg, oily cheese, and lifeless croissant all an inseparable mass. Soo... what am I supposed to do with this? "You can add lentils to it if you want" ok that would be great. Still no one has apologized. I sit for 10 minutes and get up to ask if I'm getting lentils. They said "oh, do we have lentils?" They had discussion with themselves and I said I'll be sitting in the meantime. Another wait time, I see a lady look over and say to another worker "did you take the lentils?" No, it had been forgotten. My whole family had finished there food now and I hadn't even eaten anything. When they brought out the lentils i had to ask for a box. Should of just asked for a refund. No one ever apologized or sorry for the inconvenience was never said. The workers there didn't seem to care. My mom and her bf said they see less and less regulars coming to this coffee bar. This place gets the traffic it does because of proximity to downtown and the fact that they have one small parking lot. Not for quality of food or drinks. Most of the time there's some issue here. I've been a local regular patron for over 3 years and nearly every single time I leave with a complaint. Why do I keep going back? Proximity to other things I frequent. But I'm over it with the over priced "bowls" with totally over cooked chicken - like 3 tiny pieces of hard, dry chicken!! I wouldn't complain once but it is a consistent problem. How can you even say a bowl has chicken when you gave me the shriveled end of an over cooked breast? And the "poached eggs" are usually not. More often closer to hard boiled. All this over 5 pieces of spinach. Sometimes even that is old and yellowed. And you are literally still hungry in an hour after spending $11. The last time I ordered a burrito, I asked after the fact for the aioli they failed to serve it with and the cook told me "next time you have to ask when you order because it's extra". It is NOT extra and frankly, no sauce for a dry burrito should cost extra! The new barista constantly gets my drink wrong and puts someone else's drink in my personal mug.
