I cannot say enough about the amazing experience I had going to Cohen Optical in Middletown NY. In need of an eye exam and new glasses, I was greeted at the front desk by Irma with a smile. She took care of all necessary paperwork for me to sign. Then Yasmin, a Med Tech, took eye readings on the many diagnostic machines. From there I saw Dr. Kahle, who looked over my diagnostic images. She also did her own assessments and found my perfect eyeglass prescription. Lastly I was assisted by Selena who helped me pick out a beautiful pair of glasses Stephanie the manager, oversees the office to run like a well oiled machine. Absolutely do not recommend. They'll have you waiting forever past your scheduled time, and they ask you to wait at the benches OUTSIDE the store, which means it's likely there's no seating at all because there are probably 4 other groups there waiting, so you'll be standing the whole time. Here's a thought: don't schedule so many appointments if you aren't actually equipped to handle that many patients. read more

I have come to cohens since a child and I brought a friend to make an appointment, when i had my appointment set up for the day that my insurance company would cover the exam and frames. so i went to swap insurances outside quick and without my permission my friend took my appointment! without my consent! and was told I would not be seen today I live 45 mins away and the lady started off nice as pie and. Became very rude extremely rude saying I don't like the way this is going. When it was their fault with scheduling and all that and handing my appointment away without. My consent and not seeing me that day. like I can Just come in tm morning. Like it's just right around the corner/45 mins away. below is me waiting and the receptionist who said I wouldn't be seen today. My wife and I went to get our new glasses yesterday (sunday) and had the absolute best experience we have ever had getting glasses. I can not say enough about how wonderful our visit was from start to finish. The optometrist took her time with us, got to know us, and made us feel like we were the most important thing on earth. The rest of the staff was unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable. It's rare that you go somewhere today and feel valued, especially as a new customer. You could tell they all liked their jobs and cared about their customers. It was busy too, but they took their time with all of us, making sure we got what we needed. There are so many other eye doctors available in this area and I do not recommend this one. I never knew requesting a copy of my prescription would be such a difficult task. The doctor that handles all of the exams are great people but the staff at the front do not follow directions. I advised the staff the same day of my appointment that I needed a copy of my RX and they couldn't do it then because my case was "still open." Despite my appointment being over and DR moving onto next new patient. So they informed me that they'd simply email it over to me... 10 days later and no email. I decide to call to request AGAIN a copy of my RX and the email they send does not include any signature. This is obviously of no help bc we all know in order for a document to be considered legal the physical MUST SIGN PAPERWORK. Is this really that difficult? I drive in to grab a copy and leave the mall and get in my vehicle. Once I arrive at the place I want to go to purchase my glasses the staff advise me the physical copy of my RX has a STAMP of the physicians signature but no actual signature! ARE YOU SERIOUS? The task of providing this piece of paper is jot that difficult. It seems that they can't follow directions and skip multiple steps. It's frustrating when you're waiting on documentation to move on with your life but can't because the office you're working with SUCKS! read more

I had an eye exam here earlier in the year and then I ordered expensive glasses that I waited weeks for. When they finally arrived they were not what I ordered. The technician had written down the wrong frame number. The frames I wanted were not available anymore so I had to get a different frame that I didn't love. When they came in they still weren't right. There was this purplish hue on the lenses that I didn't want and I wasn't crazy about the frame. At this point I tried to get a refund but they would only give me store credit so I went back in and looked again. The manager was very nice and brought me a lot of frames to try on but he made it clear this was the last time they would change the frame even though it really happened once and that's because they got it wrong. I ended up just keeping that frame. I have been trying to wear these glasses but I can't see out of them. My eyes feel strained and I feel off balance. Besides the fact that they are not a comfortable frame on my face. I am so mad that I spent $1200 and don't have a pair of glasses that I can see out of. I feel that I can't go back there since the manager made it clear that there are no refunds and that it was the last time they would change anything on these glasses, again not because of any fault of mine. I feel that I have no choice but to go somewhere else for another eye exam. My advice get your glasses from Warby Parker they stand by their products. read more

She went out of her way showing me multiple pairs of glasses and assuring me that it was fine that I wanted to switch them. Took my daughter's prescription here to get filled for new glasses the first week of April. They told my husband if he paid an extra $30 they could rush the order and get them in 2 weeks instead of 4. 2 weeks go by and one of the employees states "Oh we meant 2 weeks as in 14 business days." Ok fine, 18 business days go by and the glasses still aren't in. Their excuse is "they are children's glasses and take longer to come in." Finally 25 business days go by and we were finally able to get her glasses. My husband also tried to get a refund for his $30 rush delivery since 14 business days turned into 25, which they refused and just gave us a 1 year warranty on the glasses instead. Their reasoning is because the store manager the day we went is not "the usual store manager" so she is unable to give refunds. I will never be going back to Cohen's in the Galleria at Crystal Run Rd. Terrible experience. read more

The Dr was good, also got my glasses pretty fast but there was a problem with my glasses and when I called to get the problem fixed I was greeted with attitude and no help. So I just hung up the phone and decided to write a review because we can't be treated with disrespect after we spend our hard earned money on a product. My end result is I'm left with glasses I can't wear for 2 years until my insurance says I can get another exam some place else. About 4 Years Ago, My Mom and I had schedule an appointment to get our eye exams. I don't remember the exact date but what I know is that me and my mom booked to get an eye exam, I had left school early for me and my mom's eye exam. When we when in the Doctor was So Rude and Disrespecting my mother and I. My mother doesn't speak english so I had to be her translator. When it came to translating to my mother about what he wanted her to do, he spoke to me in a rude and Disrespectful way as if I'm not telling my mom on what she was suppose to do. He made me and My mom feel disrespected and Angry that in the later years I was pretty reluctant to wanting to come to this place. read more

This place has no respect for people that are on Medicare. I have been waiting for my glasses from July 10. I have been calling every week and they said that they are nt I get. Today I called and someone cut on the phone who is very nasty and turn around and said to me that it should take three weeks for my glasses to come in and that they're waiting for the frames from Medicaid to come I've never ever ever had any problems getting glasses from Medicaid they look down on people who have Medicaid in this place and I don't really quickly care for it I'm trying to get a hold of the owner and tell him exactly what's going on and this is the first time that I've been there I will never go again read more

Pretty good experience here! There selection his huge but I was able to dine a pair of glasses that I LOVE. Ryan helped me very much with picking them out as well as the other woman who worked there, I didn't catch her name. Only negative is there's a sign in sheet and not two workers behind the counter so we were waiting a while before being helped but once we did get helped the workers were incredibly friendly and attentive. The ladies are pretty helpful face to face. HOWEVER the first time I got my contacts, they were supposed to call me when they were ready for pick up. After one week I called them and they were not ready. I waited and called them after the second week, and it was like they forgot to call me, and they were ready to pick up that day. NOW, I bought some glasses back in April. The lady informed me that I would need to wait on the actual eye glasses case that came with the designer glasses. No big deal since they gave me a generic case. I called two weeks later before a trip to see if they were in, and a person apologized and said they only got two cases in per brand, or something like that and that they would call me when the next shipment came in. FAST FORWARD TO NOW, SEPTEMBER 21st, and after again calling them a second time before my other trip in August, I haven't received a phone call, and waiting for the store to open at 10AM. I wanted blue light added to my prescription and they want to charge an additional $175.00 to my new prescription in which I had just paid $230.00. And to think I was charged $30.00 for a tint that I canceled and asked for blue light to be added but it was forgotten. And I'm a senior citizen. This is so wrong. Prices are excessive.
