I recently went there to get my mom and step dad 25 silver Eisenhower dollars for their 25th wedding anniversary . I had given up after calling about 30 banks. I suddenly thought "ok I guess I'll have to pay more to get these coins but I'll go to Coin Connection ". As soon as I walked in they sold me 15 Eisenhower silver dollars for 15.00. I had 10 more to go. I was looking in their window cases thinking ok I'll pay 10.00 each but please please ......then the owner went back somewhere behind the counter and came out with 10 more . This place was absolutely fantastic. I'm used to going to coin shops that are staffed by someone who is basically the real-world equivalent of the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. The folks at Coin Connection were super friendly, their inventory of silver was amazing, and they chatted with me for a good half hour about everything under the sun while I dug through their stock of silver bars looking for interesting mints I don't have. I inherited a high-maintenance/lower-value set of silver from my Granny, and after using it for a month, decided it just wasn't for me. I called Paul to ask if he would consider buying the set, and he encouraged me to bring it over for a looksee. The man there was an expert with all things metal and diamonds and I'm sure a lot of other stuff. He's a wise man and could probably teach every person that walk through those doors a good lesson or two. Not sure why they decided to short change me. Was casing the joint for a potential new trader, acid tested a working Zenith watch. Stood up to acid gold test. They asked me if I knew what the hallmark said, I feigned otherwise (Its an 18 karat gold zenith pocket watch). He says "100 dollars"... I ask "isn't it gold?" He says "yeah 100"..... Not sure what they expect me to make of that.... The worst offer i've received anywhere else is 700$. read more
