First time ever selling gold. I came here because of the good Yelp reviews compared to other gold sellers. It's a jungle out there with gold reviews. I don't venture into Hollywood all that often these days and honestly, the traffic in the area is less than ideal. When I got to the establishment they had heavy duty barred doors that I need to buzz into. Sorta like entering the area from Men In Black 1 with all the security, minus the aliens. Wait? Anyways, the guy I dealt with, likely the owner, was really chill. He gave me more than I thought I would get for a single earring. My wife lost her other earring and we had no need for 1 earring. All in all, if I ever needed to sell gold again I wouldn't even research another place. This is the place I'd go to. In this instance Yelp served me well and guided me to this place and I'd say it's a good place with good value. I`m sorry to say I was not happy I called them on the phone and they told me they pay 19cents a gram for Stirling silver which sells for 78 cents a gram as the going rate which means they only give the person 25% of the going rate and keep 75% that to me is backward if you ask me no thank you!! at .19 they pay $5.36 an oz spot this morning was $21.46 which is a big difference!!! read more

I had a gold ID bracelet that I wanted to exchange for cash. I took it to one local merchant who told me it tested at 14 karat and he offered me $1500. I told him I wanted other bids first. THEN, I took it to Andy at CashGoldExchange on Hollywood Boulevard last Friday when gold was at an all-time high of 2030/oz. He tested it at 21 karat and offered me $3800. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! How much more validity did I need as to feeling I was dealing with an honest merchant? Andy PASSED THE TEST!!! He's personable, likable and was easy to talk with. I waited 3 business days thereafter and the price of gold had dropped $100/oz. by then. I went back today and met up with Igor (Andy was not present today) and he similarly tested everything like Andy did and gave me a quote of $3490, since the price of gold had dropped, as I'd mentioned. I didn't want to wait any further and gamble on whether the gold price would continue to slide like it had for 3 business days, so I agreed to the deal. Aram stepped in to confirm the quality of gold and tested it to corroborate Igor's test and they both agreed. Aram offered me bottled water, also, which was another plus. Dealing with Andy, Igor and Aram was a pleasant experience. The fact I was told 3x it was 21 karat versus the other merchant who was EAGER to give me 1500 for what he deemed as 14 karat, well, let's just say that honesty wins out, as I experienced today. Who knew there were so many places to sell gold? We have been Spring Cleaning at home and trying to throw or give away any unwanted stuff. As part of this my wife organized her jewelry "stash" and found a bunch of mismatched earrings and the like that she would never, ever use again. All of this stuff was good quality gold so what to do with it? Sell it. Knew that selling it a jewelry store was not going to be a good option and definitely did not want to go around local pawnshops carrying bag of valuable gold items, so started to do a little research online and found that there is a whole bunch of places that buy gold based in the weight and karats of the items. The problem was it also looked like there are plenty of "shady" businesses offering this and scams are common. I ended up using a recommendation from a relative who had done something similar. I called them and they sent me a pre-printed FedEx envelope to send in the items to their store in Downtown, which I did. 4 days later I received a FedEx back with a check inside. Very happy with amount I got from them - and they called me on the day I got the check to see if I was OK with it, so that impressed. The negatives. Must say that handing over a FedEx package with gold inside left me a little nervous at first but I was reassured that it was insured and that it was safe. I went here to sell my gold & silver because of its rave Yelp reviews, and I am more than happy to report to you all that they certainly live up to their excellent reputation!!! There is ample free parking in the lot, so messing with meters is not necessary which is always nice. There was no waiting, you don't need an appointment you can go in right off the street. They thoroughly and quickly tested all of my gold and silver in front of me and we had such a good time. We were laughing and shooting the breeze the whole time they were working. I loved the staff! If you are looking for an honest transparent and no non sense place to cash in your scraps and gold, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! I brought in a piece that contained gold and platinum or so I thought. IGOR, was fantastic. He explained to me that he need to separate both precious metal to weigh them separately. I checked online the current price for both and asked what would he pay comparing to current value, with the understanding that it is a place of business and they would be under market value so they can make a buck as well. He proceeded by giving an estimate based on his experience and weight then he proceeded by cutting each piece to weigh them individually. He then tested both metal with the assumption it was platinum for one and 18kt gold for the other one. After various acidic test he verified it was 18kt gold and platinum. He suggested instead of selling the platinum that was cheaper than gold to actually make a few chains and sell them online since a platinum piece in a necklace form would sell for almost double rather than melting and getting current value. I told him I didn't want to spend time and effort in doing so and to just figure out the weight so I could sell it. At that point he Igor started testing everything and then he was puzzled by the feel of the weight and said the platinum piece might be 14kt gold instead which was better for me. He took me in the back melted a small piece in front of me and confirmed it was in fact that he 14kt gold. He was honest completely transparent knowledgeable in his field and very very fair. From the initial quote with platinum in mind I ended having almost $200 more once we find out it was white gold. I will definitely return and advise all you potential sellers to bypass everybody else and come straight here. Long story short I left this gem of place with $2400 more in my pocket.
