They are rude and do not take NO as an answer very well when clients decline their up selling services! Obviously my review was too honest so they had to ask yelp to remove it. I've also reviewed them on Facebook and another previous client of theirs had almost the same negative experience with them. I am…read morealways nervous when establishing care in a new place because I am so accustomed to my previous providers but had no choice since I moved to Houston. The staff is attentive as soon as you walk in and explain each procedure in detail. Dr. Ngo is no exception. I've been going to an optometrist for over the last 20 years and have never had as comprehensive of an exam as I did with her. She was definitely knowledgeable but also super personable. Even as a new patient, I felt like I could trust her. She helped identify that I was quickly developing dry eyes and formulated a personalized care plan for me to remedy it. More importantly, she made sure I understood everything in detail and accommodated it to my lifestyle and schedule. As an aside, the layout of the office has the feel of a high-end boutique. It doesn't feel like you're in the waiting room of an optometrist's office. That may not be the deciding factor when choosing an optometrist but it goes to show the staff's attention to detail. My vision is TERRIBLE AND I have an Astigmatism and after using this, I'll never go back to traditional lenses ever again. I'll be honest, there's a HUGE learning curve to using a mini plunger to get the contacts out of your eyes in the morning, but seriously, give yourself 6 months to adjust to these lenses if you're trying them out for the first time ever. I almost gave up after 3 months because it takes a while for your vision to really adjust to the lenses but I'm SO GLAD my husband kept telling me to just keep at it. Now I'll never go back to anything else! Also, Dr. Bao and everyone there on staff is great! It's a small staff so you get to know everyone pretty quickly! Like I said, I've been seeing Dr. Bao for years and she feels like family every time I see her- very personable, knowledgeable, and just all around wonderful! She really gets to know her patients and builds a great relationship with them! Even though I only see her a couple times a year, she still remembers things about my life and asks how things are! My insurance fenced off a lot of places that carried nice frames like Pearle Vision and Lense Crafters. Eye Trends was one that was accepted and they carried brand names ranging from Ray-ban, A&X, Burberry, Gucci, Oakleys, etc. Even better is if they don't carry the frame you want then you can request them to order it in for you so your insurance can pay for them. No more Walmart type frames for you. The only drawback is that there will be no refund if you opt for that choice. The doctor I had obtained her degree from University of Houston which has a great Optometry program. She was friendly and explained to me all the questions I had.

Referred here by a local friend for affordable eye care especially with no insurance (keep in mind…read morethis office does not accept insurance), my wife and I have been doing our contact lens exams here for over five years. It's not the fanciest office with the latest tools, but he has exactly what you need for a quality eye exam and has tons of contact samples. Dr Nguyen is an all around solid optometrist and person. He is detailed oriented, asks good questions to get to know his patients, and offers great insights. Even though we will be moving far away, we will continue to use this office for our annual exams.
