One Star Review !! This company installed an entire HVAC system, including a downflow gas furnace converted to propane, and the experience has been exhausting and deeply concerning. Before installation, we verified in writing that all manufacturer-required conversions and post-installation testing would be performed. Despite that assurance, the system was installed without proper downflow and LP-specific setup and verification, even though propane systems require additional configuration and confirmation. Midway through the installation, the crew advised that the system's electrical amp requirements exceeded what the home could support -- something that should have been identified before selling and installing a full system. We were then presented with an additional ~$8,000 upsell to address an electrical issue they had not previously identified. The brand-new system is experiencing repeated lockouts and safety-limit faults. Required post-installation testing was not performed, allowing the system to overheat under normal operation and sustain damage, triggering repeated safety-limit faults. This led to multiple return visits and proposed component replacements tied to improper installation and configuration, not equipment failure. One of the techs stated that they only do testing if there is an issue later and not right after install. In addition, new hallway carpet was damaged during installation, adding property damage to an already problematic job. What's most troubling is that this company will promise the moon and sell you a great system, but then fail to install it correctly, properly commission it, or provide complete startup documentation afterward. This was not a partial repair -- it was a new, full system installation, making the lack of proper planning, setup, testing, and care unacceptable. Stay FAR away from this company. Now seeing the very similar reviews here and elsewhere I see this is SOP for the new management. Used this company for years for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, but the new ownership has completely destroyed this business. We spent over $12,000 in 2021 on a new system with a promised 14-year parts AND labor warranty. Now they refuse to honor the labor warranty because of one missed service visit that was never clearly disclosed as mandatory. From day one, this system was a disaster. Over 10 service calls since installation and it never worked correctly. We ordered a Rheem system and were sold a Daikin instead, paired with the wrong thermostat. Real HVAC professionals later found partially blocked ducts, improper airflow/CFM settings that did not meet Daikin specifications, and a badly misconfigured installation. The result? A 4-5 year old system that looks 15+ years old inside. Rust throughout the unit, rusted blower assembly, black mold-looking buildup, constant breakdowns, and now a failed blower motor. Their solution was to charge us $1,800 while refusing to honor the labor warranty they sold us. We requested management callbacks twice and never received one. At this point we've had to hire a real HVAC company to replace the entire system because this one was improperly installed from the start. Based on the recent reviews, this appears to be a pattern with the new ownership. They are the most inconsiderate people now that I have run across in a while. The MACHINE will call you and say someone's on the way just so that you can wait the entire day for a service call. I called them twice on the first wait which should have been from8 -12am Noone showed up or text/called. So I thought this is a fluke I will call in and ask mabey there was an emergency and they said they would check and see where the technician was. This company is obviously under new ownership and customer service is a thing of the past. Things as simple as a phone call to let you know an estimated time for service seems to be a struggle. Customer service has been replaced by a call center. I have had my unit for almost 11 years and it is under warranty. In previous years having a service call was never an issue. Not the case now. 8 days my family has been without a working AC unit. My children have had to stay the night with family and friends so they can sleep. Our dog cannot cool off in warm temps so he is with my parents out of precaution. Our current unit is 2 years old and was installed by A#1 Air. We have used this company for 14 years because they came in clutch when we lived in Haslet. Fourteen years ago we had a 1 year old and I was pregnant and that baby (Eden) was due any day in the September heat. A broken AC in the worst part of summer. They came out right away and fixed the issue. So we have loved them and been loyal. We went with a new unit 2 years ago that was top of the line. Sunday the 26th of April we got home and our unit wasn't working. We called and they put us on an emergency list and said they would be out that night. They called later letting us know due to an influx of emergency calls they would get to us on Monday. Monday our tech came out was so kind and could not figure out the issue. Called a co worker and they ordered a part. So no fix Monday, Tuesday waited for the part to come in. Wednesday tech called at 8am said he would be to us in the hour. That hour came and went. Called us again at 9am said he was leaving then and would be there by 10am. At 10:30 still no there I called and asked where our guy was, they said leaving then would be there by 11am. It would be a 15 min job to put in the new part. I needed an am appointment because Eden was singing the national anthem that night at the TCU game and I didn't want to miss it! He got there about 11:15am. That part was installed it did not fix the issue. So he was trouble shooting other things. He was working so hard for us. On the phone with his supervisor, on the phone with the company that made our unit. He was there from 11:15am to 10pm. He was the kindest man, worked so hard for us but basically said they were going to order more parts per his supervisor. (Even overheard his supervisor say the guy we had out should be pulled from the job and another guy should come who is trained on our specific unit. But they couldn't get him out.) His supervisor wanted to trouble shoot those new parts to see if that fixed this issue. We were told the supervisor would be out the next day with said parts to start trying something else. That was on Thursday. No phone call in the am to say they were coming. So I called. They said it looked like our appointment was on hold. I asked why. The operator said she didn't know, but she would put a message in to someone at dispatch. They would call us back and explain. We called three more times every couple of hours. We once again had to rearrange our day. They said we'll send this over as an emergency. They didn't call. Friday am my husband calls. We explain we have had no updates, and wasted another day at home for someone who didn't show up with no communication. Then we are told the supervisor cancelled the appointment because the parts they ordered weren't in. But no one informed us. We can't even get a return phone call. Saturday we call multiple times. Receive a message back that the person who would know isn't in till Monday. Sunday leave it alone. Call this morning Monday the 4th at 8:15am. Day 8 without an AC... were told it would get passed on to the parts manager she is in at 9am and I would get a call back. NO CALL BACK. 4pm today my husband calls again, asks to speak with the manager. Company says a service manager will call us back. Yeah right. Our unit is under warranty. They are still troubleshooting so if this part we are waiting on still doesn't fix the problem... we will still be waiting! Years ago this company was on top of things and saved the day. They were on time and communicated. We recommended them to everyone. I am beyond livid. I never vent. But I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this kind of customer service. We have called other places who will not even look at our unit because we are under warranty with another company. Because they don't wanna fix someone else's mess (rightfully so). In my opinion this is the most unprofessional HVAC company! Since Jan 1 they have been to my home around 8-9 times to 'repair' a 5 ton unit that they installed improperly 3.5 years ago. Every season they have to come out and repair or replace something to get it back operational. Now, here we are on March 20th, 2026, and I was promised on the 17th that it would be operational by the weekend. Tomorrow, we have my daughter's 6th birthday party with around 30-40 guests and we now have no operational AC as temperatures are slated to be upper 90's throughout the weekend. Failed to mention that when the Service representative told us the cost of repair, I asked him how long it would take and he said two or three hours. The fact that it only took about 15 minutes is what really made the price even more ridiculous and outrageous!! I am filing complaints with the Attorney General Consumer Protection agency, Better Business Bureau and everyone else I can think of, and you should also if you have a complaint. We had to purchase some very expensive equipment from A #1 Air, a new Trane Unit) in July 2025, today it's Sept 2025 and it's already failing. I have been trying to get someone to come fix it since it's leaking and it's now leaking and getting our floor soaked (it's still under warranty, since it's only 1.5 months old) and 2 days later...NOTHING! I warn anyone to decide to go elsewhere else for service. It's like pulling teeth. And some of the service guys don't really know what they're doing. And in fact, will make things worse in some cases. If I would have known we would be treated this way, I definitely would have taken my service somewhere else. Don't waste your time and MONEY! They write to call in, acting like they care - but all I got was dismissed and bullied. I have spoken to so many people that have similar results from A#1Air. Anyone wanting to join in a class action lawsuit, feel free to DM me. Previous: arrived. I asked a few questions and he screamed at me: Are you STUPID?..........It got so bad I finally told him I was not interested in using them to fix my AC. He started yelling that it was because of his ethnicity. I said, no, it is because you have been argumentative since you got here. He wanted to fix one thing in order to find out if other things were working............pay for each fix (three in a row), then need a full replacement anyway.........but still pay for the three that were fixed but the unit was not working...........I told him I was not interested and he purposefully rewired the unite incorrectly, AND REWIRED the electrical box where it caused a short and shorted out my wiring, causing a short and many appliances to burn up. We had sparking and burning - Oncor and the city and electricians had to come out. This guy chose to cause a house fire. BTW - ONE of those 3 parts did actually need to get replaced - at 1/4the the price he quoted me...............the other parts worked fine after Victor from 365 rewired everything correctly.............No, I did not need a new unite either. Their communication is miserable. Seldom can you speak with a human and when you do they don't know anything. A part failed and won't come in for 6 days. I asked if I could expedite with air mail at my expense and they ignored me without saying why. I had an appointment for them to look at an alternative and they cancelled it without telling me and left me sitting in the heat for hours. If I didn't have a warranty I would fire them. I guess I should have read the reviews first. I used them for a hot water heater issue before thought they did a good reasonable job. My heat went out after the ice storm and they tried to charge me $10,000 for a new furnace. $3,000 fix the existing but said they couldn't guarantee that was the problem. When my blower went out in the Spring of 2024, after 7 years of service, I needed to find a new company to install a new one as my previous HVAC guy had retired. I went with A#1 Air based on the recommendation of neighbors who had a full system replaced by them in 2023. Cut to March 2026 and the heat goes out. Cause - faulty heat strips in the blower. While the part was covered under warranty, the labor was not. Order placed for part. After two weeks I placed two calls trying to get an update on the parts order. Surprise, surprise-part had just come in when I placed the second call. Part was replaced with a labor charge of $874 for three hours of work, including the initial visit to research the issue. At $300 an hour for labor, this company is too expensive for me. Also, after reading other reviews, the $874 seems to be the standard labor charge for faulty equipment that is still under the parts warranty. read more

I had a brand-new AC unit installed by A1 Air just four years ago, and it has already broken down three times. The first two failures were covered under warranty. The third failure occurred just three days after the second repair, yet I was told it would cost over $1,000 because they'd need to evacuate the refrigerant, replace a part, and replace the refrigerant. They said they don't reuse refrigerant, so I had to purchase 7 pounds of new refrigerant. Let me be clear: This is an unacceptable failure rate for a modern HVAC unit. I have a separate unit installed by another company eight years ago that has required zero service calls outside of routine maintenance. In contrast, the A1 Air-installed unit has turned into a recurring expense and source of stress. Yes, A1 Air has impressive marketing and courteous technicians, but do not be fooled--they are a profit-first operation. Their shiny vans and polished service mask a deeper issue: a refusal to stand behind their product. It's not just about the money--it's about principle. If your system fails multiple times within just four years, and the company's response is to hand you a $1,000 bill for a critical repair, that's not customer care--it's exploitation. I have all receipts and correspondence to back up this experience. I'm now being forced to bring in a different HVAC company to assess what A1 Air failed to fix--again. The master valve was broken due to corrosion after I shut off the water to the house. I called them and they charged a dispatch fee of $129 since I called them on a Saturday. Do bear in mind that this is just for diagnosing. The guy showed up take a look at it and said that he need to replace the whole plumbing and it will cost me $3,000 dollars. I asked him why can't he just replace the valve only, and he said when something is this bad it has to be replace the whole thing and he also asked if I know how to fix it since I keep bringing this up. So I called someone right in front of him and asked for a second opinion, and he suddenly said he can bump the price down to $2,300. Oh wow, I told him just hold on to that quote. Now I'm wondering if they actually do service or they just charged dispatch fee and give out outrageous price and make money through the dispatch fee. At this rate, I rather just call local or family owned business than a corporate like this. Another side note I want to point it out that this company has a 4.8/5 stars with more than 10,000 Google review, but somehow got a whopping 2.5 stars on Yelp. When I get someone I am told well it's mechanical and these things happen which is why it's important to upkeep the warranty but we have a membership available to you for $x a year that will help. So Roxy in Customer Relations is just about the upsell and not actually resolving the issue of maintaining a subpar system that was installed, inferior installation to cause loose wiring after a month and to keep the warranty valid for the next 7 years it's going to cost you. So I'm stuck with continuing business with this company to upkeep a warranty for the next 7 years. Made an appointment. Online for a simply clogged ac drain line. No call no email. We started calling them at 8am the day of the appointment and never got a call back. "We will pass over to dispatch" is all we heard. We called them a minimum of 5 times for an update. No return phone call and no service person ever showed up. Imagine setting your thermostat before going to bed so that you can sleep comfortably...only to wake up in the middle of the night to discover your furnace isn't working. I placed a call to A#1Air at the recommendation of my best friend. Initially, I spoke with Kawana who was such a pleasure to deal with. She was courteous, efficient, and scheduled an appointment for me the same day. A few hours later, Manny Morales came to my home on time. He inspected my furnace and I learned that it needed to be replaced after viewing the pictures and learning exactly what the oroblem was. He was clear in conveying the problem, provided me with options, and offered insights about each option. I also feel that it's important to note that Manny was clean cut, courteous, and dedicated to his profession. Well done! Lesson Learned. Please read because it will save you money and headaches in the long run. Go with smaller, local HVAC companies. I no longer trust these larger commercial services with TV jingles. They hire "repairmen" and train them to be salespeople first. They are not experienced HVAC technicians. Their main goal is to upsell services. I bought a new unit in 2021 from A#1. On day 3, the unit shut down. Day THREE after install. Crazy! Called A#1 Air out and the said it was overcharged (too much refrigerant). He removed some. Later that Summer, the unit failed again. It kept shutting down (I later learned it was overheating.) This went on in 2022, 2023 and finally in 2023 I got a 2nd opinion who noticed I was low on refrigerant. I demanded A#1 do a leak check. They assigned a "team lead" to my unit but he still would not do it. The tech said it was a new unit and couldn't possibly have a leak. Famous last words. Fast forward to 2024, my unit shut off again. Found a smaller company with great reviews from the Next Door app. The guy took about 30 minutes and found the leak. Repaired it. Showed me exactly where it was and told me it was likely because A#1 Air installed a faulty part. Don't get me started on the install. Took 6+ men 12 hours because they couldn't get the unit to cool and had trouble with the breaker box. They kept calling men over to come and diagnose. That was my sign. I later learned that many of these larger companies do not want to do leak checks because they are time consuming and hard to find. They are trained to be salesmen. They aren't experienced on repairs. According to my new HVAC person, A#1 Air upsold me on various services I didn't need. Do yourself a favor. Ask around your neighborhood and get a referral preferably for a smaller company (family owned if you can find one) that has a great reputation. You will save money and likely get better technicians who know what they are doing. I noticed A#1 Air likes to hire young (20-30 year old) so-called repairmen who are really trained to upsell. They don't have the experience to diagnose many repairs. Be careful because many of them are nice guys, but don't be fooled. They only want to sell you services instead of really diagnosing the actual issue. So happy with my new HVAC guy. They are a small team of 2-3 men, but they are super knowledgeable, been in the biz for years, and I can tell they know what they are doing. Ask around your neighborhood. Submitted a request for service using their form on the internet. Got no response. So, I called them to make an appointment. The appointment was set for a day I agreed to. They gave me a window of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm so I had to be home all day. And I was. Nobody came. At 4:45pm I called them to see if they still planned on showing up. I apparently got an answering service as I had to spell my name and street. They said they would send the message over about the status of my appointment. I never heard anything from them since. Do not use this company. Our upstairs unit stopped cooling. We had a guy come out and he didn't have the right tool for our valve caps to check Freon and after sending a picture to several other companies who also didn't have the tool, I was recommended to call this company because they are a big outfit and we're likely to have the tool. Sam and I believe Michael came to my home and also didn't have the tool. They said they could change the fittings to something more universal which was great. They then came into my home and Michael walked right into my laundry room and did not leave after I asked him to get out and use a different sink because I didn't know what my wife had laying around drying in there. Sam went up and looked at our units and basically told us everything was wrong and immediately started talking about a replacement unit. We had to press to get a repair option and he gave us a total of 10k to repair without any explanation of parts or a breakdown of costs all while saying replacement is the better option and kept saying our units are "builders grade" so they are basically garbage. Basically everything was wrong. I'm okay with an option to replace since the units are 9 years old,but they worked great until a couple days ago, but we all know the type of person that's trying to sell you rather than take care of you and that was Sam's approach. At the end of the interaction I asked him to put it all back how it was and he was reluctant to power the unit outside but kept changing his story as to why. "We put 2 lbs of refrigerant in" "there's no refrigerant in the unit" "well it will be gone within a couple hours." I just wanted it how it was before. Maybe a leak in the coil but it was blowing coolish air even if the temp wasn't dropping. Also while a replacement unit could be installed the next day, they would wait a week after getting parts to repair. So transparent. Outside of the sleazy sales process to the service call, there were several aspects that made me uncomfortable to include bringing up the recent shooting as a form of small talk which was poor tact. What if I had known someone that was hurt? Either way, that's not a topic I want to discuss with a stranger. I mentioned getting a second opinion and while he was like "oh yeah, that's definitely smart." He was visibly uncomfortable, and I learned why the next day. I declined getting a replacement quote because I was not comfortable with their team. I called another company the next day that had come out before and didn't have the right tool and he came out to look. We walked up to the unit and discovered a#1 had broken off the service port from the king valve! This wasn't disclosed to me after they had been out and no other person had touched the unit in between. After calling to talk to the service manager, I was argued with, dismissed, and they refused to accept responsibility regardless of my photos because they had on the paperwork that sam filled out that there was a leak outside. Sam did not fill out paperwork of findings until after he would have broken the valve so it's now obvious to me why he pushed so hard to replace the unit. He at no point showed me anything with the units or outside to see for myself and tried to take advantage me and my family. Sometimes people make mistakes, but you have to do the right thing. I've been using another service for about a year, and the starter and coils I was told I needed to spend $1,000's to fix, are still going strong and told they are in perfect shape. I'd like to warn people in our neighborhood about an HVAC company that is trying to take advantage of seniors. The front part of my 77 year old mother's nest thermostat fell off and stopped working. We ran up to Home Depot and they said this new one will work. It didn't so we called an HVAC repair company. I won't name it but it's a guy holding a white poodle. They wanted $1500 to replace it but with a senior and military discount it would only be $1200. Luckily mom called me and I laughed at the person until I realized they were serious. She started talking about rewiring the unit and crap like that. We paid the $89 service fee and I can post the suggested work and quote if anyone doesn't believe me. To make a long story longer, we got all the info we could find on the system and went back up to Home Depot. We got a universal one that although you can't control it with your phone you can program it to do temps at certain times. It was less than $80. I will be reporting them to anyone I can as soon as I get over the flu, my gift for going to get pictures of the girls this week. That was the only time I've left the house so woo-hoo, nice consultations prize but I'll lose weight and nearly lost $1120 because I'd end up paying for that! My a/c was leaking so I called A#1 and asked for a repair. The tech came out, moved some wires around then gave me a quote. But, of course, he also stated that my unit was old and freon was expensive. After much debate and financial juggling I agreed to purchase a new system. However, the loan was not approved. The tech looked really disappointed so I ask him to just repair the leak. Then he told me that he didn't have the parts or equipment needed and he would have to send someone else out. Now, if I called initially asking for repairs why didn't he have what was needed? As of this date it's been almost two months and I haven't heard anything from A#1;no call, no text, nothing except ads to buy. Absolutely horrible especially since its been so hot. Well, Stephen M. of Grand Prairie, I am having the same problem. Called at 7:30 am and got an obvious-AI answer. Was able to schedule a service call for today (yay!) between 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Just like you, I have been sitting at home for the entire day with no A/C and no contact from A#1 Air. I called at about 4:45 pm and have been on perpetual hold. At present, as in this very moment, I am still sitting on this hold. I have been getting what I am willing to bet are AI responses on the text chain that I am still on for today's schedule. The text asked if I would like for a "team member to call me back." My response was affirmative. I have been on hold for well over half an hour now, plus have gotten no call from "a team member." I am wondering if I should hold my breath waiting on actually reaching a human being? ... Oh Wait!!! Hold the presses! The call was just answered! By an obvious AI-bot to which I said I needed a HUMAN and ... back on hold. UPDATE: I spoke to Jared at A#1 Air who seemed genuinely interested in the time delay and lack of communication. He offered a free year of maintenance (which I, gratefully, declined) and a $100 gift card for my trouble and frustration (which I, gratefully, accepted). I'm not nearly as mad as I was! Terrible company, minus zero stars. They do NOT take responsibility for their errors. Failed to glue my a/c drain pipe in the attic. When the pipe came apart, dirty water gushed from the attic through the ceiling and onto my white couch in the living room. A#1 refused to accept responsibility, said that I must have had someone else in the attic that didn't glue the pipe. Their pipe "repair" was only a few weeks prior, so their excuse didn't fly. They also refused to let me talk to the owners who spend a lot of money on TV ads. I had to pay to repair the ceiling and clean the couch. Neither of which are totally the same since A#1 didn't glue that pipe. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. This is the most corrupt and morally bankrupt company I have ever done business with. They completely lied and cheated us. We purchased two systems. Both of which were supposed to be 16 seer but the systems installed are clearly labeled 13 seer. They refused to acknowledge their dishonesty. Read all the one star reviews. I'm not the only person to have horrible experiences with them. Please do not risk being cheated by them as so many others have. Further, I encourage every person with a one star experience to file civil suits against this company to try to get compensation for their dishonest business practices and horrible service. This company has great products and great workmanship. The office staff is very poor on communication and following through with promises. Had a scheduled appointment for a water heater replacement. Took the day off work, the tech called said he was on his way and then never showed up. After several hours I called the office and was told the tech hurt himself and they didn't let me know. The scheduled another appointment for two days later and said it was first thing in the morning so i would not get bumped. Tech didn't show up until till 1pm. No phone calls. The manager in the office said they would give me 5 percent off job for the trouble. When billed no discount. I have now called 8 times over several days. They keep telling me management will call or email about it. I have heard nothing. read more

I have a service contract with A#1 Air and have had so since we purchased our heating and AC units and duct cleaning from them almost 9 years ago. I tried to book an appointment for our spring check back in February and was told they weren't booking those yet to call back in March. I finally was able to get an appointment for today, June 3 from 8-5...they could not or would not be more specific. I was told someone would call to confirm on my appointment date to make sure we were available. No one called and no one showed up. I am very disappointed with this company and want someone to contact me. read more

This should actually be no stars. Dillon was great - as were the various techs that have visited my home. But A#1 is a mess. The customer service is terrible, the call system awful, they've stood me up for reservations, given inaccurate information and worse, haven't gotten the system fixed despite 5 visits over three weeks. All for a system that is just 2 years old and purchased for A#1. Just terrible. read more

Booked them to add some refrigerant to our HVAC System. They mentioned they operate on an open schedule. But, the technician did not show up on the scheduled day. I got a text message around 7:45 pm that the technician is heading to my property and I know that it takes them 20 minutes to an hour to get there which would be around 8:30pm in the evening. This was unexpected and unacceptable. When I called them, the customer rep was very rude. read more
