I have used this company with good results. However, the furnace went out. I looked online to get their phone number and saw the option to book online or call. I opted to call. I realized pretty quickly I had a bot. I HATE virtual assistants. I realized at some point Strittmatter had sold to Frymyer. I declined to make an appointment . Please have REAL humans doing your scheduling. I called Work Environmental, got a real guy and he came out quickly. Friendly, professional, and did not overcharge. It's never been right and that's after they cut through my wall and damaged my roof so bad I got repeated leaks and water damage and had to have roofers repair. Now tankless malfunction again and I find it was never set up for my propane fuel! It's been a year. I've given them chance after chance, and also their HVAC side. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I scheduled an appointment with this AC company and received a confirmation, but that was the only thing that went smoothly. Communication was a complete disaster from the service center. I never received any follow-up call, no updates, nothing. The appointment window came and went--no technician, no courtesy call, no explanation. I called multiple times to get clarification, and every time I spoke with someone different who had no idea what was going on. They clearly have serious internal issues with coordination and customer service. In the end, no one ever showed up. Total waste of time and energy. If this is how they handle scheduling, I can't even imagine the quality of their actual work. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have been a "preferred" customer for 4 years. I have left very good reviews in the past but NOT THIS TIME. A week ago they came to fix a foundation leak. Quality of work is questionable. My repair required digging, and the associates they sent spoke zero English. And now a week later I have a 4 foot mound of dirt just sitting and killing my grass. They've never come back to finish the job and sadly because of trusting from prior work, I paid 100% for the project. No return phone calls, no communication whatsoever. Needed a backyard unit fixed, was told I needed a new system inside and outside. Got a quote for $14k, but they needed to do a $300 several hour diagnosis on my house first to make sure that was accurate. I declined Had several other people stop by to give quotes. It was confirmed that I only needed the outside done. I was quoted $4300 for just the outside unit from a different company. To get the inside done as well, it was going to be $6300 for everything. So I saved more than half going with another company. I do not recommend this company. read more

I called Strittmatter, they were very prompt in replying and have sent their guy very quickly. I was relieved to see the quick action. However, they confirmed that there was no leak in my HVAC system and charged with 13 lb refrigerant R22 each pond cost 163 dollars. with in a week the refrigerant leaked and I was so annoyed that my system not working that I called the other company. They found a leak and confirmed that the cost of R22 is 60 dollars per pound . I have requested Strittmatter for a refund, but no response for over a month. I will not recommend this company. Way over priced. Charging over $600 to install a brand new toilet that was pre purchased from another store. Will not be calling them again. Also they charge $79 just to come out which was fine but the installation charge was completely ridiculous. There was also a leak under the bathroom sink which coincidentally was not leaking when tech arrived. He told me there was nothing he could do since the issue was not occurring at the time. We had a flood in the bathroom prior so clearly there is a problem. Second tech that came along for the ride just kept smiling at what the older tech was telling me. In July of 2021 we purchased a home that had 3 brand new HVAC systems installed by Strittmatter through the previous owner. Shortly after moving in we discovered that two bedrooms were not cooling and one bedroom was overcooling. The previous owner disclosed that there was a transferrable warranty, so we called Strittmatter and that is where the issues began. I called on 2 different occasions only to be told a manager would call me back. I never received a phone call. On the 3rd attempt I was told there would be a service call fee that had to be paid before they would schedule a warranty call. I was never given an explanation on why there would be a fee even though I asked for one. The 3 HVAC units are high end so I suspect the cost to install was around 25k-30k. As such, I believe a reputable company would be happy to come out and diagnose the problem, especially on such a large job. Based on 3 calls, w no return call, along with being told there would be service call fee, I decided to call 2 other companies out to give a diagnosis. Neither company charged a fee to provide an estimate and both companies diagnosed the same problem. On one hvac unit Strittmatter installed a plenum that is too small and not delivering the correct air volume to 3 bedrooms. I decided to eat the cost and get the plenum replaced which cost me $1200. Based on my experience w Strittmatter I absolutely cannot recommend them and recommend that potential customers steer clear. read more

Price gouging! We had a very nice technician come out to fix our toilet. It's not a regular flapper toilet, it's a Sloan tank within the tank toilet. He gave us an estimate for $550 and said these toilets were very difficult to work on and that he would have to order the part. We sent him on his way. My husband got online and ordered the part for $50. It took 2 days to be delivered and my husband had it fixed in 20 minutes (after watching videos on YouTube)! If you can fix it yourself, do it, OR find a company that's pricing is a bit more reasonable. read more

I had another company come out and completely try to take advantage of a leaky tub situation, trying to upcharge us to replace the tub. I called Strittmatter and Dillon (who initially came out after hours even though he didn't have to) with Parker came out and were professional, Dillon told me that the tub didn't need to be replaced, he and Parker fixed the real issue saving me about $1,500. The other company is the reason why plumbers get a bad name, but Dillon and Strittmatter can be trusted. I even signed up for their EASE maintenance program. They will be my go-to for my home as well as my rental property. Couldn't be more pleased. Call them before anyone else would be my suggestion. I've had plumbing, A/C and most recently heating issues they've resolved quickly and expertly. I'm a single momma on a budget and their pricing is fair and reasonable. They ALWAYS explain what they are doing and why. I love their hours - woke up and house was Texas cold at 62 degrees (winter temp not a delightful summer temp)- and their service answered my call at 7a and the scheduler called me back in 20 minutes to set up an appointment for the next hour. However, since we are members of the family savings club, they moved up on the list and came out later that afternoon of the same day. They installed a temporary system to keep our home comfortable and also offered us a special deal on replacing our system. We checked prices with two other contractors and neither could match the deal we were offered. They replaced our system and have not had another problem. Great service. Friendly. They called back quickly, and kept in contact over many days while they were working through an incredible number of similar service calls. Even though they close at 8, he agreed to come out and turn the water off for us (we were having issues doing that) for free. When he got here, he decided to go ahead and just fix the issue for us. We had an issue with a clogged sink that we were unable to repair on our own. We called Strittmatter based on good reviews and the fact that they were open on a Saturday. They were able to send someone out an hour later. The technician was knowledgeable and honest, and he fixed our issue quickly. The price was fair. We also asked him to look at a toilet that had been having issues. He told us that he could fix it and gave us the price, but he also explained how we could choose to fix it ourselves easily and for less. Company bills by the part and not by the hour. Had leaks on two outdoor faucets and needed the washing machine hot and cold valves replaced. Received 3 separate charges including the replacement of a small washer on one faucet for $99. Tech stated that he wasn't sure it had fixed the problem but I could call them back out and they were only charge me the difference between the $99 and the part replacement cost. Offered a 25% discount if I would join the Family Savings Club Plan which cost $34 per month. The amount charged was well beyond what should have been charged for a 45 minute job. read more

First time they came I had a good technician. This time it was not a good experience. I had electrical issues with the furnace. The technician that came instead of troubleshooting that issue spent 20 mins telling me everything that that's wrong with the unit. He said the unit was not installed with enough returns and also the heat exchanger has a crack in it. He said this is causing it to leak carbon monoxide and it could potentially kill us which is why he has to condemn the unit. He then proceeds to disable the unit thus leaving us without heat in the freezing weather. He then quotes me around $9,500 to replace the entire unit. I was polite and told him thank you for your opinion and I'll let him know what I decide and sent him on his way. I immediately call a second HVAC company "Record Heating and Air" from Lake Dallas and they take a look at it and said it's just a simple sensor that needs to be replaced. I also placed a carbon monoxide detector right next to the unit and it has not detected any dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.... read more

I had Strittmatter out to repair my air conditioning last week. The technician arrived and tried to repair the trouble before informing me that I needed to spend $11,000 dollars to replace the entire heat and air conditioning system. He said I could get a second opinion but that he had been in the business for a very long time and that other companies would provide the same finding. I paid him the $79 service fee and he left without fixing my service or even putting the thermostat that he'd removed back on the wall. I did call another company and they did fix the trouble and delivered scorched parts that suggest his efforts might actually have made the trouble worse rather than better. In the end my AC was repaired for under $500 and is working great! I would recommend that you avoid any company or technician that only seems interested in selling new equipment and the commissions that might make off the sale. I don't know how Strittmatter got such good ratings but this technician's behavior means that I will never recommend them to anyone! read more

Let me start this off by saying that this place either is a rip off or just incredibly expensive. We called for a consultation on our water heater, when two guys came in , smelling like alcohol and hang over, that stood up like not professionals and couldn't even say hello. Next they went up to the attic looked for about 5 minutes and then charged us $79 for a "consultation". Excuse me, what did they do for a $79??? Then they gave us super expensive quote that we could not believe the prices. Then we decided to get a second opinion , because strittmatters guys were NOT trustworthy. So we called another company and they told us different things about our water heater, and we decided to go with another company who fixed everything for a reasonable price. My landlord hired them to replace my a/c coils. Unfortunately, they placed a copper line directly in front of my filter door. Not only can I not open the door all the way but I have to crumple up my filter just to get it in. They also dropped part of the a/c unit down from the attic to the hallway taking a nick out of the wall. Conveniently, non of the workers apologized or even mentioned it. I only give these guys an OK because they actually did good work. My issue is the pricing. I had 2 outdoor faucets replaced and after they left I decided to check on the cost of the part as the price of $300 for each replacement seemed high. The part I found that was similar only around $20. assuming that they use some type of super part I gave it $40. they only spent 30 minutes here and charged me $300 for each faucet. I suggest you find another plumber that charges by the hour. read more
