At the door, the most adorable little girl gave us a beer list and a self-guided tour pamphlet. Nice welcoming touch. The atmosphere is very relaxed and very family friendly. There is plenty of varied seating which include a long bench against a wall, table and chairs, and a ledge on the back wall with stools. There are no bar seats standing only, likely to avoid congestion. Also, very appreciated by the non smoker (me) they have a designated smoking area AWAY from the entrance and tasting room. They have a total of four beers at this time and I was able to try 3 out of the four. The German wheat had kicked however we were able to pick our favorite out of the three to fullfill our tasting. You can choose between a flight of 4 tasters for $6 or the $10 option which also includes a souvenir glass. While I didn't find a must have this every week beer I found the beers light and easy to drink. The American wheat was dangerously light and too easy to drink. The cold spring red was my personal favorite, while it was light it was slighty malty. The Porter was light for a porter and just a little smokey. See all lighter easy to drink beers. This brewery is under 10 minutes from the Cape May Brewery making an easy target for a little brewery crawl while at that end of the shore. Stopped here with my husband while on a vaca in Cape May. I was excited to check this brewery out despite other reviews I saw. I have to say, I absolutely LOVED the brewery. It is located in an old barn on the grounds of Cold Springs Village & is absolutely gorgeous. They have firepits in the rear yard of the brewery, & picnic tables in the front when the barn doors are opened. Heaters are offered on cool fall nights. Inside the barn you will find fabulous wood everywhere. Unfortunately, I did not find the beer to be as memorable as the brewery itself. We tried 2 beers, the red & the porter. Neither one had much flavor & fell flat. The definitely have the right idea but I think they need to work on the beer. With all of the great craft beers around these days there is stiff competition. There are only doing outdoor seating and unfortunately it was pouring when we stopped in. We split the American lager and it wasn't our favorite. There was a nice covered pavilion we could sit in and the other outside seating looked beautiful. Just be prepared. read more

Extremely crowded on a weekend and yet they refuse to open multiple tables at the front of the property. Rudely advised on the phone that those are for private parties. I would suggest that if they have no private parties scheduled they should open the tables rather than turn business away. We drove all the way over from Sea Isle city just to be turned away because they were at a standstill as far as the line moving. read more

Come here with a group of 5 on a Saturday during lunch in October. It's a great place to hang out at a sunny table and drink beer. The tables were socially distanced. I was disappointed that they were not doing tours because of covid. The beer itself was average. I had the Shandy and sarsaprilla and didn't really enjoy either. I have had much better Shandys before. We were there during lunch time and would have really enjoyed ordering food but there wasn't anywhere ovbious or nearby yo order from. In general if your looking to get out and be safe it is a good place to go. read more

I very well may have had 2 of the worst beers of my life here and payed $7.50 a piece for them. Shame on me for giving them a second chance. Do yourself a favor and choose a different local brewery. This is one of the most unique brewery experiences I've been to. The old barn setting is so cozy and different. It has a warm feeling which you don't see often since most breweries have more of an industrial feel to them. The outdoor area is really cool because they give you a variety of yard games to enjoy your visit with. The staff is very friendly and informative. It's usually not too crowded so you get more of a personal experience here. And the beer is very different from what you'd see at Cape May Brewing Co. or 7 Mile. They do a lot of variations of wheats, reds, and dark beers. They had a farmhouse special that was like a sour that I really enjoyed on my last visit. Also picked up a sweet mason jar style mug. Really enjoy my visits here. Much different situation than the other local breweries. That's what makes it special in my opinion. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Honestly not worth coming here, all the beer is below average, some of which is really bad. The brewery is located in the historic Cold Spring village, "a taste of history", and if that is how beer tasted back in the day, no thanks. Cool building thought, nice outdoor area. The brewery is in a barn/stable like building and the inside is covered in beautiful wood, with some old guns and farm tools on the walls and ceiling. I wouldn't come back. read more

Made a return trip after 2 years. I do like the interior which is a rustic old barn. Beer is marginally better but not by much although they now have a larger selection. It used to be just 4 beer types. Definitely at lower end of what is available in this area. Taste is flat on the mouth without much character. Some off tastes in some of the beers. Not as active as other breweries in the area so lacks a bit of atmosphere. read more

Cold Spring Brewing operates in reproduction of an old building in the historic Cold Spring Village. The beer is far from old fashioned though. The styles are all fairly malty from a German wheat, American Wheat, Amber, and Blonde, so hopheads may not quite quench their thirst here. The inside is cool from a historical perspective with high wood beams and rafters like a cozy barn. The outside though is awesome during nice weather where it almost feels like trying beer out in a state park. The beer itself was good, but I felt that some others in the area were a bit more robust and flavorful. read more

The only brewery within rental, beach-cruiser biking distance of the town of Cape May. When we visited they only had 4 beers on tap. Each was enjoyable in its own way and, because we had biked here, the journey to the brewery was more of the accomplishment than the actual drinking of the beer. The beers were fine, the brewery building was cool, and the bartender was friendly. Just don't come here expecting to carefully taste-test the slight hoppy differences between multiple IPAs, because they didn't have a single pale ale or IPA on the menu. read more

Newly opened! I was there for the soft opening. It's a gorgeous reclaimed barn that's been restored and finished with loving care. The beer was great and the service was friendly! Four beer options while I was there, all very different and tasty. They don't serve food but you can bring in food from the snack bar or restaurant on site. They also serve old fashioned soda. Highly recommend checking this place out! You don't have to pay to enter Historic Cold Spring Village to go to the brewery, but if you've never been I recommend checking out the village as well. Oh my god the beers are bad . Way sub par. The place is nice but really ? How can you make such bad beers. Even if a flight and trying 4 of them, it's difficult to find a drinkable one. This is an OK brewery, but not the best and not worth a repeat visit. Maybe because they are just starting up and havent implemented everything yet. Their beer selection consists of 2 wheats and 1 porter (they were out of the other one), all OK, but also a little flat, maybe by design. They also sell root beer, cola, and cherry soda. We got two cherry colas for the kids, but the cherry flavor tasted exactly like Luden's cherry cough drops, and once you realized that, the soda was hard to drink. the kids took one sip and were done with it. We had reservations next door at the Cold Springs Grange for dinner, which is BYOB, but the only thing you can carry over from the brewery is beer in a plastic pint glass. I asked to buy a growler (it looked like they had two different sizes) but they wouldnt let me buy one, either because they hadnt started selling them yet, or they were saving them for something else, the answer wasnt too clear. They do allow you to bring in your own food (since they dont serve food themselves). For a true brewery experience in the area, try the Cape May Brewery right down the road. read more

Fun little brewery on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't very crowded when we went, so that made the experience all that more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I enjoyed our visit yesterday. No tours due to COVID. The beer was good. I had the red and my wife one of the lagers. The outside seating was nicely spread out and comfortable. I was a mix of in the open, umbrellas and shade which is good for me since I'm a ginger and come in 3 colours white, red and blister. We meet another couple an shares a table with them with the proper social distancing even though we had just met them. They told us they enjoyed their beers. We didn't get a growler to take home this time. We will be going back. read more

I love Historic Cold Spring Village and the brewery is a beautiful and well done addition. But, at the end of the day you go to a brewery to sample the beer. While the four beers on tap are all drinkable, there is nothing special about any of them. The fact that they don't even offer any sort of strong or hoppy ales almost makes me wonder what the management is thinking. I want to give this place 5 stars, the building , the setting, and the staff deserve it, but it's all about the beer, and till they up their game, I simply can't do that. read more

Well to get started, the weird dude with the poorly maintained goatee ruined my night. I was in here with a group of my friends and he said the f bomb about a million times and ranted on yelling how ford trucks are awful for a good 10 minutes. I've been coming here for a while and ever since he started my time spent here has been discomforting at best. The beer is great here, such a shame a great quality product was tarnished by the lack of professionalism of this man.
