My girlfriend and I went since I got a birthday BOGO and it was great. I got banana ice cream with Oreo pans peanut butter cups mixed in with a chocolate dipped waffle cone with nuts. I was really craving something gooey and satisfying so I ordered a half chocolate, half cake batter with reeses cups and vanilla oreos. Strangely enough, the ice cream creation not only really didn't hit the spot. The flavor of the ice cream was more bland than I had ever experienced in the past. Worse than that, I do not feel like I got my money's worth! I purchased a total of 4 creations (one for myself and 3 for each of my kids) and I was very disappointed with how small they were. The ice cream was barely evened off at the top of the cup, whereas every other time I have ever gotten coldstone, the ice cream was higher than the brim of the cup. I've been into this Cold Stone numerous times over the past few years. My experience seems to be consistent with each and every visit. Workers are always friendly and quick. Ice cream is good and the mix-ins are always done with more than adequate portions. But it's pricier than it should be. This time I got a small "like it" cup of coffee ice cream with heath bar mixed in. They do have a great coffee ice cream here, I'll give them that. No indoor seating, just a couple of patio tables outside. Parking in this plaza is always a nightmare. My experience here was amazing! I was welcomed in the first time I came and had a really great convo with one of the servers that helped me. She was so sweet and and my ice cream was delicious. I never understood previous comments before this complaining about the little things and being so sensitive.. It's pretty funny. If you order ice cream, of course eat it right away or else it will melt. I also did not have any issue asking for extra toppings and the girl was generous enough to. This Cold Stone is great it's my favorite location to go to. They stay open until the exact closing time, and they are very patient with customers that come right close to closing time. The employees will take the order, and make it in a reasonable time never once rushing the customer. My overall experience here is great the employees are great to talk with, and won't shy away when a customer speaks up a conversation. Not my son, ice cream is ice cream and he loves watching him mix in the toppings. The quality is ok, but I think it's pricey for what you get. The like it size is pretty small and will already run you about $5. He had the strawberry and mixed in cheesecake pieces and liked it, but I couldn't help but think for that price we could have gotten a better scoop elsewhere. I love the smell of ice cream parlors in general but Cold Stone takes it a great level... CHILLY and FRESH w/ a hint of YUM in the air. I always get the staple base here... well in my opinion at least, the SWEET CREAM!!! It's like Vanilla, but--way better! My favorite combination is the sweet cream with Reese's Peanut Buttercup, Kit-Kat, and Crunch... all in a waffle cup!! I love watching the servers mix it up for me here cuz I always feel like they're hooking me up--even if they're not, haha. The sweet cream is THICK, CREAMY and very iced. The waffle cone has a good density also--it doesn't get soggy until the last final bites. Cold Stone also has a staff in general, the Cerritos location is no exception... the servers are polite, attentive and work hard and fast--be sure to tip if they WOW you! There are some new PRE-MADE items... I think I saw one that has Churros!!! I didn't try it this time around but will be sure to check it out next time I'm here. So check out the Creamery! My local Coldestone Creamery just got a little bit cooler. They now serve their own version of tart flavored yogurt/ice cream. Their new line of 'healthier' food is NrGize and yes .. the frozen yogurt is included in that line up. I was hesitant to try it at first when I just saw it on their menu and opted for my pb cup perfection, but the next visit I wanted to go ahead and dive into it. I ordered the Like It size as I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. One con about the item is that they do not use fresh fruits, its frozen fruits and it would definitely taste better if it was fresh. They do try to mix it like they do the ice cream on their chopping block but the consistency of the frozen yogurt isn't made to be mixed as it it kinda breaks up. After consuming it, it was yummy. It was cold, tart and not too sweet. Perfect. This is definitely something that has grown on me from Coldstones, besides their yummy ice cream concoctions of course! read more

My friend and I were craving the banana caramel crunch, which we couldn't find on the menu...but the girl who helped us said she can still make it for us. The banana caramel crunch consisted of french vanilla ice cream base with caramel, frozen banana, and almonds. I altered my ice cream and substituted waffle chips for almonds, since I'm not a big fan of it. Also, I added white chocolate chips, while my friend added plain chocolate chips as our extra mix in, which is free with every check-in. This place is raking in big bukoo bucks while giving teenagers a job and cool little wage for them to start off. Ice cream of all different flavors are served here. They mushed and splat the ice cream for ya. Roll'em and beat it to a pulp. Then you can have the option of putting in a cup or tasty sweet waffle cone if you like. If that is not sweet enough for ya, there's even a sweeter sugar cone to top that. The ice cream still come out delicious, but I just wondered about the beatdown to the poor innocent desert. I'm totally completely in love with cold stone...I'm happy that they are popping up all over the place. Sometimes it's hard to find a Marble Slab or a Mootown Creamery, so the popularity of Cold Stone's has benefit my late night ice cream cravings. The only thing I get there is the Mud Pie!!! Sometimes I'll go for other flavors like the strawberry shortcake...but I think the peanut butter in the mud pie takes the cake. Anything with peanut butter is good with me. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars was because I once went to one in San Diego (Mission Valley by IKEA) and the girl was making an ice cream cake...and she was packing in the ice cream into the cake mold using her hands...and she had these acrylic nails...ewww. The only downside is that they are a bit expensive for ice cream. But, it is simply a must try because it takes your childhood dreams of ice cream and sprinkles and transforms it into a whole new dimension, essentially redefining the scope of ice cream. My two favorite ice cream creations are "Oreo Overload" and "Chocolate Devotion". This location was recently closed-down temporarily and taken over by new owners/management. I don't know if it's just me, but the attitude of your typical happy-peppy ColdStone Creamery has seemingly gone with the previous employees. The combinations and flavors of ice cream remain the same, as well as the techniques into making the various ice cream creations, but the new employees seem to keep employee-customer interaction to straight business rather than being friendly and communicative. Although the happy-peppy employees have seem to have fade away much like the previous employees along with their singing via tips, I still find this ColdStone quite exceptional, mainly because of their consistency and efficiency in ice cream flavor creations. No stars if I may, was standing in line, and told this young fellow to give us a second to order, he then helped the person who just arrived , that's ok and we stood there waiting for him to help us, he then went inside and out while we were standing and they were just chatting in there with another server. He knew we were waiting to be served but he just ignore us , like we don't exist standing there like there's no one waiting,I knew he did it in purpose, how could you forget a customer after asking you to give us a moment, until I couldn't wait any longer , of his nastiest attitude of ignoring us.
