Place is a sick, sick joke. I stepped in and immediately sensed something was awry...There was a middle-aged asian man behind the counter...attempting...ATTEMPTING to make their signature creations. I swore they were filming an episode of "Undercover Boss." The "employee" checked-off all the ingredients necessary that is typical of their episodes -- incompetence, extreme delay, angry customers, brooding employees, and profuse, bitter apologies by the entire staff. However, the most important ingredient (oreos) were missing in my Oreo Overload. My brother's Peanut Butter Cup Perfection was overflowing with what seemed like 2-liters of chocolate syrup. To our disappointment, there were no cameras or interviews by the CBS producers after we paid. The owner should simply stay in his office and do his job by properly staffing his employees to ensure this scheduling incident never happens again. If you spot him (you'll just know) I would go elsewhere. Perhaps the Creamistry across on South St. Sure you'll wait 17 minutes there but it's better than waiting the 30 with him behind the counter and employees on pins-and-needles worrying about job security. I've been going to this Cold Stone since I was a senior in high school back in 2002. I thought the idea of having ice cream smashed with various toppings was a novel idea and the best invention ever made (after the nuclear bomb). I had only had Cold Stone ice cream once before they opened up in Cerritos over in Seal Beach by the ocean. I've never strayed away from what I originally got in Seal Beach, which was the Dutch chocolate mashed with a brownie. That is a surefire bet that can't fail each time you get it. Chocolate on chocolate is always a good combo. This Cold Stone is located across the street from the Los Cerritos mall, so there's a lot of traffic between this center and the mall itself. You may have to be a little aggressive when trying to find a parking space here. You can always opt for something healthier, like frozen yogurt, at the Yougurtland if you don't have the patience. read more

I always get great customer service when I am here and the staff never fails to make you feel welcome when walking into the store. You can always tell when a new worker is helping you out because they mix your ice cream way to long, which leads to instant melting =\ For those wondering why the ice cream here is so expensive, well look at the quality. The ice cream is always thick, creamy, & rich! That basically means the milk fat content is higher, quality of ingredients is up there, and there is less air (overrun) that is aerated into the ice cream meaning they are actually serving you more ice cream to air ratio per serving. You know that gallon ice cream tub you can get at the grocery store for like $5? The reason why it is so cheap is because majority of it is AIR and the quality of milk they use isn't the best, hence the "iciness" and not so smooth & creamy texture. My all time favorite ice cream from here is the mint w/ fudge & brownie. The brownies are awesome btw, SUPER chewy and even chewier when mixed in with your ice cream since the coldness stiffens it a bit. Very disappointed! I really love coldstone ice cream but yesterday, may 28,2021 around 3-4 pm i bought my usual chocolate devotion and coffee lovers both in "ours" sizes and was not happy about it. The ice cream is so soft like kind of melted and the lady was so stingy with everything that I had to buy my own heath just to be able to eat my ice cream! She scooped not enough ice cream and add the add ons very sparingly then like folded the ice cream 2x and proceeded to put them in the container which didnt get filled enough so she scooped more plain ice cream and added it to my supposed to be coffee lovers ice and not plain coffee ice cream. My favorite flavors are chocolate devotion and strawberry blonde. If I can give them a 0 star, I would definitely do that. It was very unpleasured visit yesterday. My boyfriend and I visited this place on last Sunday, which was 7/26 around 3:15pm. I was treated with racism by one of the racist worker. What a horrible service here! We were in the line waiting in outside, they told us only two parties can come at a time. There was only one party inside, we were kicked out at the first time. We were thinking maybe 2 people only can go at a time, but once we entered in the store, another party came in at the same time even though they are 4 people. I believe the racist worker's name was Jezerline? something like that. I asked another worker who took our order why you guys allowing more than 2 people at a time while we were kicked out. Then, she just avoided and started making my boyfriend's order, the milkshake. But the wow thing is happened after that. She gave us only half amounted milkshake! With a full price! HOW can this insane service be existed??? I'm not talking about the mistake, but their attitude for the service was pretty rude and wasn't even the basics. I complained her why you are giving me a half amount and she remade it with full amount without any apologize. At that time, other 4 people who came right after us took their ice creams already and left early. I'm living in this area and have been coming here often for a long time, but I wouldn't come back to this location from now on because they are not trained very well, which means very unprofessional mind with racism added. First time back in over 10 years. Now I remember why, who does Cold Stone's think they are charging so much for crappy Ice Cream? Nearly $7 for their smallest size cup. If you build your own you get 1 mix in for free and after that the add-ins are $1.39 extra. Even the syrup drizzles count as a Mix-in! Total Rip off. When we got to the car 1 minute later to eat the ice cream it was like soup. I was shook because back in the day Cold Stone Ice Cream used to be super thick and durable even In the summertime. So here we have these soup ice cream bowls and it was just nasty. I got the Cheesecake Fantasy (Cheesecake ice cream, blueberries, strawberries, and graham cracker pie crust) and it tasted like I was eating a Yogurt parfait. It just wasn't good. The main reason for the 1 star is our service from the Asian girl Angela last night. First of all, we both asked for "LIKE IT" sizes. After telling her our sizes she asked if we needed lids and we said yes. Due to the lids she said she would need to put the ice cream in a "Love-It" (a size bigger and .70cents more expensive) container. I was confused but I said okay. By the time she charged us, I couldn't even really pay attention to the price because the register is behind the ice cream against the back wall and I couldn't see it. Later, after looking at the receipt because it was so damn expensive I seen that Angela ended up charging us for the bigger sizes even though we asked for LIKE IT sizes. This is after she told us she was just using the bigger cup to be able to close the cups with lids. Wow, complete "upsell" tactic on her end. It left me very upset but by then they were closed. I will never support Cold Stones again and I am even surprised that they have not gone out of business yet. Bad service!!! We had a guy that didn't know what he was doing. My bf ordered the Strawberry Banana Rendezvous Love it size. We were watching the guy make his ice cream and he was mixing and was already putting the ice cream in a cup, my boyfriend said doesn't it come with pie crust the guy said that it doesn't but we can add it on for extra and my bf said yes. The guy dumps the ice cream back on to the counter where they melt and mix the ice cream and my bf told me it should come with it, he should know because he's ordered strawberry banana rendezvous many, many times. The guy mixes pie crust and dumps everything back on to the cup making a huge mess and didn't even clean it up. My bf was pissed. I spend about $18.00 for 3 cups of Love it...EXPENSIVE ice cream and to be honest I DON'T LIKE MELTED ICE CREAM!!! After dining at Elbow's Mac 'n Cheese, my friend and I paid a visit to the Cold Stone Creamery which was conveniently next door for something sweet. She was full after her entrée, but after all that savory cheese, I needed something sweet to top off my dinner. It was already pretty late--close to 10 p.m.--but there was still a small line at Cold Stone. We were both initially confused when walking into the ice creamery, though, thanks to the set-up. The line doesn't start in a logical place--you have to walk much further to the left and into the eatery, where it's hard to see the menu and the featured flavors of the day. This didn't make much sense to me, but luckily, there weren't any people behind us or many customers in the store in general. I ended up having to step out of the line to get a better look at the menu and the cartons of ice cream while my friend held our place ... but I digress. The staff was cheerful and I tried a sample before I decided on my order. I haven't been to a Cold Stone in probably more than half a year, and there always seems to be something new featured every time I go. I always opt for one of the "Signature Creation" flavors, but I noticed that the "Like It" size is slightly cheaper if you choose one of the standard flavors, and you even get a mix-in for free. Though the "Peanut Butter Cup Perfection" and "Chocolate Devotion" are some of my go-tos, I decided to try something new and opt for one of the traditional flavors and get a mix-in. I didn't realize--until looking at the Cold Stone website--that certain locations have special featured flavors, one of which I probably ordered from this Cerritos store because I couldn't find the flavor I chose on the website's menu. But hey, good to know that each location is slightly different. Here's what I ordered during this round at Cold Stone, as well as some of the other standard flavors I want to try: "Fudge Brownie": I was in the mood for something super rich and chocolaty, so this fudgy flavor didn't disappoint. I didn't see this flavor listed on the Cold Stone website, so I'm wondering if it was just featured locally at this Cerritos location. Anyway, I appreciated the dense chocolate flavor, which was accentuated with the brownie I had as my free mix-in. The brownie itself was just how I like my brownies to taste -- moist, rich and chewy. My "create-your-own" concoction was the epitome of a chocolate lover's dream. "Falling in Chocolate": This decadent fudgy flavor is a seasonal one at Cold Stone, just in time for Valentine's Day. I saw a poster for this ice cream flavor AFTER I had placed my order ... so I missed my chance to get it, but it sounds really yummy. It includes luscious "Fudge Truffle Ice Cream" mixed with chewy brownies, fudge and a whipped topping. I would be fine sans the whipped topping, and I do hope to try this seasonal, chocolaty V-Day treat one day. This sounds even better than a box of chocolates! "Fudge Truffle Decadence Cake": I've never ordered one of those Cold Stone cakes before, but this seasonal Valentine's Day selection sounds absolutely heavenly. It includes moist layers of red velvet cake, "Sweet Cream" ice cream, "Fudge Truffle" ice cream, fudge ganache and chocolate shavings. Wow. I'll certainly have to try this at some point because it includes some of my favorite ingredients. I do love a good red velvet, and this one sounds even more amazing because it features fudge ganache and chocolate shavings on top. Although I've never really had "Sweet Cream" ice cream by itself, I'm sure it provides some balance to all the fudgy, chocolaty flavors in this indulgent cake. "Sweet Cream": I've never had sweet cream ice cream in of itself--it's usually mixed with something--but because this is the base of the "Oreo Overload" signature flavor at Cold Stone, I'm sure the sweet cream flavor itself is good. I think the only sweet cream flavor I've ever had was at Sprinkles Ice Cream, since that's the basis for the signature "Red Velvet" ice cream flavor that I so love, so I'd be down to try the Cold Stone version at some point. "Cinnamon/Cinnamon Bun": I don't remember seeing either of these flavors at the Cerritos Cold Stone, but it's nice to know that they're available. I love the fragrant spices of fresh cinnamon rolls, so if this ice cream flavor is representative of one of my breakfast favorites, I'm sure it's a hit! I'm not sure what the difference would be between "Cinnamon" and "Cinnamon Bun" ... but perhaps "Cinnamon Bun" is stickier? "French Toast": I don't recall seeing a "French Toast" flavor at this Cold Stone location as well, but if this is an option at another store, I definitely want to try it. French toast is one of my favorite breakfast foods, so I'm curious to see what the ice cream flavor of this traditional breakfast starch would taste like. read more

I'm still not impressed with this place. For my money I'd rather have Dairy Queen. Though I appreciate the almost endless variation that can be had with your tasty treat. But you'll definitely be paying for this variation and it just doesn't seem worth for some reason. I feel I'm being ripped off if I get a "Like It" but "Love It" and "Gotta Have It" just seem gargantuan in comparison and its pretty futile to try to preserve it for later in your freezer because it just isn't the same it ends up being rock solid. All and all I've had better Ice Cream elseware for far cheaper a price. read more

I wish I could say I had a better experience, but the girl at the counter was super incompetent and rude. The girl forgot our order twice and took forever to "heat up" the brownie, yet when we got it, it was still cold. I asked if she could please warm it up, and after waiting some more, she still produced a cold brownie. Also, the "lava cake" had no "lava" whatsoever, and was just a frozen waste of calories. I wish I could say there was a redeeming factor since I have fond memories of visiting Cold Stone when there weren't better quality ice cream places around, but there wasn't any redeeming quality at all. It costs less for a much better product at Salt & Straw, or even Baskin-Robbins (not that the two are comparable).
