Absolutely abysmal experience at this location. I came in with my fiancé on our anniversary to get a special treat. He happens to need things that are lower in sugar content and we tried to order a strawberry mango smoothie. The employee Jonah was absolutely unprofessional, he took our order and he asked if I wanted a lid for my ice cream and I said yes. When it came time for my fiancé to order he ordered a strawberry mango smoothie which we had just seen another customer have made by another employee. Jonah flat out refused to make the item saying that they could not and also did not give me a lid on my ice cream or a spoon when finished with payment. I had to ask for a lid and realized that I did not have a spoon at this point either and his attitude got even worse and more unprofessional. Both of us felt extremely uncomfortable with the way this employee was conducting himself and did not feel safe in this particular location at time of service. We will not be returning here anytime soon and corporate needs to take a real review of how this location is doing and do something about the customer service and quality control issues. First of all, this is the first time I have ever tried cold stone (at the recommendation of my sister). It was a pretty awful experience. We went in to take it to go. We were in line for 36 minutes before our order was taken (obviously this place is under staffed). They were out of drinks (even water), they had no milk, so they couldn't do milkshakes. They were out of 8 of the flavors in the case (leaving only a few). Then, I went to order a strawberry with strawberries and they were out of strawberries. I'm super happy for the success of this place, but if this is the standard of experience, I will probably not give it a second chance for Me and my family. It's been years since I've stepped inside a cold stone creamery but I was with my cousin in the Lakewood Town Center who would not stop talking about how badly she wanted ice cream so here I am. There's positives to Cold Stone like fun and different flavors! Being a chocolate lover, I enjoy birthday cake remix (with gummy bears added obviously) and German chocolate cake. Yummy yummy! The ice cream is generally pretty good... smooth and rich in flavor and I am always fascinated watching them make it right in front of me like a little girl would be. There's definitely things they need to work on though, like their floors. I really am kicking myself now that I didn't take a picture of what it looks like under the tables cause their floors are DIRRTTTTAYYY AF and covered with trash. Ewww! Some of the employees are awesome, but others look at you like they'd rather be ANYWHERE else in the world. Not sure when they got rid of the singing when you tip cause I tipped and they certainly didn't sing for me. Which is whatever.. they definitely didn't look like a group that would put on a great show but I was still ready to listen and possibly join in cause I'm a karaoke queen! I guess they can't pay them enough to embarrass themselves anymore... what a pity! Even though I do enjoy certain flavor creations of ice cream they have, they haven't really updated their menu in many many years. It would be nice to put a new hip flavor on the menu that isn't something that's just going to be around for a very limited time before it leaves to possibly never be seen again. Like maybe a flavor that's like emulsified glazed donuts, forgotten wedding cake pieces, caramel and cinnamon laced with sarcasm drizzled a top breast milk flavored iced cream surrounded by a void of vanilla frosting crushed into a bed of lost feelings called "longing and regret" or better yet: one that's made with milk that's left to soak in fruit loops cereal for two weeks, covered with unethically sourced sour children gummies, that they then serve to you in a whimsical inedible cone made of deconstructed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They can call that one the "Child Cereal Killer" ...just a thought. I have so many ideas like that.. they'd be smart to hire me to revamp their menu, infuse some more life into this dreary ice cream parlor with the power of music to ensure the place doesn't become Cold Stone Cemetery (although that could work well with another flavor idea of mine involving blue velvet cake pieces, dark chocolate coffins, white chocolate tombstones and a blood-red raspberry swirl drizzled in tears of your grieving loved ones called "Death by Cold Stone" but more on that later cause my first order of business is to introduce them to my buddy Swiffer). I'm a die hard coffee ice cream kind of gal! I love the flavor, add in a little bit of chocolate and peanut butter and I'm sold. I love an extra crunch in my ice cream as well so the Mud Pie Mojo is my go to. The atmosphere was very chill - vibes and temperature. Staff was quick and efficient as five of us came in and another family followed. A great location for all ages and when you tip you get to hear a special jingle. This is the 2nd time, our family has visited and am really disappointed in the cleanliness and hygiene. The workers do not tie their hair and some have long finger nails that touched the waffle cone when they were scooping their ice cream. They touch their hair to move it out of the way and continue to serve customers. What is the point of a food handler's card!?! We went today, Memorial Day, and they had a container they grabbed the waffle cones out of. Both my nieces had stale waffle cones. For service and price, we are very disappointed. I ordered a graham cracker crust vanilla bowl, and what I received was a dish with oreo cookies and peanut butter in it. I'm allergic to peanuts. There were two employees behind the counter when we arrived. We were second in line behind a guy and his two kids. One of the employees was assisting them and the other employee was busy packing a large order for which I assumed was for a pick-up from a food-app such Door Dash or Postmates because she would not make eye contact with anyone over the counter. I took a bite and it was almost not even cold.. I asked for a replacement and they were very nice and made me another one out of a different base (sweet cream) but this one was also melting and not very cold. My wife got the cheesecake ice cream which was actually still somewhat cold and stiff - but I gotta say, each of the 3 ice cream flavors were overly sweet and just not good in general. The cookie dough just tasted cheap and like it had no depth or quality of the flavor. Same with the cheesecake and sweet cream flavors. The customer service was very nice but either my taste has gone up or it's just not as good as when I was a kid. I've had one good experience at this location, in July for my birthday. However, our most recent experience here was BEYOND disappointing -- poor customer service, items being left out of our order, poorly made ice cream, and pieces of paper in food items. We ordered online and, 10 minutes after ordering, we receive a call stating that they are out of one of the ingredients my brother ordered. This isn't a big deal in and of itself, but in the grand scheme of things with this experience, it only adds to our frustration. They didn't offer an alternative or proactively try to fix the mix-up. We didn't order too late in the day, either, so I do have to wonder if the lack of peanut butter cups is an organization mishap. We showed up 5 minutes late to pick our order up. Upon walking in, my husband was told he showed up to the wrong Cold Stone location because they didn't have his order. My husband was like "No..? I placed my order for this location." I'm sitting in the car waiting, so he calls me confused. I tell him we definitely ordered from that location and have proof in the form of his email receipt, so the Cold Stone worker calls someone from the back and more staff come out to help find our order. Low and behold, after a fiasco, our order is found. My husband brings our order bag out to the car, and as we're driving away, I open the bag just to make sure everything is there. Shocker -- one of our three items is missing. My husband angrily drives back to the Cold Stone and heads back inside to figure out where his shake is. Apparently they "forgot to make it." We get home and I realize one of the main ingredients in my ice-cream is totally missing. Unfortunately, this made my dessert surprisingly lack-luster -- I typically love Cold Stone (and often find the smallest size too rich to finish, which is a good thing), but this time it was the equivalent of a poorly made McDonalds McFlurry. It seems to me it was made as lazily as humanly possible. I try my very best to have grace and patience for food service workers because you never know who is brand new to the job or having a bad day...but, as my husband pointed out, it cannot be that hard to make an ounce or two of ice cream with 3 simple mix-ins, especially when you can print out the order and refer to it as you're making the food..? To make matters worse, I ended up finding a piece of paper or cardboard in the bottom of my ice cream. It isn't coconut -- I literally can't break whatever it is with my fingers. It might as well be plastic...it literally reminds me of skin and I would NOT have eaten the ice cream if I had found it earlier. *insert puking emoji* *insert crying emoji* Usually I love Cold Stone, but this time I obviously turned to my husband and said "Next time, let's just go to Safeway and get ice cream from the frozen section." There is one young lady there that has waited on me and my fiancee the last 3 times we visited. She's been very mean spirited.
