Being in the customer service field for over 30 years. The current staff at this location goes over and beyond customer service and satisfaction. Training a staff member requires more then just technical skills, it also requires people skills. I am very happy for the owner of this location and he has picked an oustanding team. I want to personally thank the owner for his expertise on hiring the right team. I did have an opportunity to speak to him on the phone regarding his staff and informed him that he has done a great job in training and hiring. I thought after I had a shake with rancid fudge a while back. With an offer of a replacement (which was never received) we would try again. Never again. One employee was helping us while the other just walked back and forth. Never offered help. After 10 minutes. We paid with a card. The poor girl couldn't get the card to go through. The other girl comes over and tries. She says. "This isn't working. You have another card or cash?" Never "I'm sorry we are having problems" nothing. Gave another card took them a couple of more times for it to go through. The other says to the girl helping us "you did it wrong" and walked away. I hadn't even tasted my shake yet! That second girl needs a new job she was as rude as she could be!! I get home and guess what?? Rancid hot fudge once again!! It's an ice cream shop for goodness sake! How hard can this be?? I tried to first leave a review-comment on Coldstones corporate page to inform them about their Pelandale location before just bashing them on Yelp, but their website takes you to a blank page when you go to the report a problem link. So... Walked in and there were 2 employees and 2 guys in front of me, stood there waiting for a few minutes not acknowledged while the girls working proceeded to just chat with the guys. I had plenty of time to look at the ice cream assortment while waiting, when asked what I wanted I asked what the difference was between the chocolate yogurt and the chocolate ice-cream (calories, sugar) the girl said she didn't know, so I decided on chocolate yogurt, at which point she said we don't have that. But... you do have it, I'm looking right at it! "we don't have chocolate yogurt today" ... well it is labelled in your case as yogurt... she looks at the sign and just says "oops". So, I end up getting chocolate ice cream. I get it mixed with my toppings and go to pay, they have a new square device for payments, she tells me to sign and the screen will ask me to leave a tip if I'd like to. I would not like to, and don't leave a tip, and when she swings the screen around and looks at my transaction she goes "thaaaaaaaaaaanks so so much" and rolls her eyes at the other girl. Whatever. I proceed to go outside to enjoy my ice-cream with the pup and observe three women go inside, and come out about 5 minutes later with no purchase and complaining, interesting people watching going on here. THEN the two girls come outside to the front of the store and one of them proceeds to smoke while holding the door open to the facility with the two guys still inside and myself on the patio... now enjoying my ice cream in a smokey environment. BUT WAIT... they then began to chat with an employee from Panda next door and they are all talking about the Health Inspector and the Coldstone girl says, "thank god they had to leave and couldn't finish their report, we even kept the place clean for like a week after just in case they came back"... seriously? Shitty service is one thing, and well you're working at an ice-cream store so I can be ok with getting mediocre service, but smoking in-front of the establishment, while talking about how you managed to not get health code violations IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS? People. Deserve. To. Know. - I would not come back here ever again, and I would be worried about the cleanliness and what goes on behind the scenes since the employees clearly don't care. Great place with great flavors! A bit pricey for some ice cream but then again, it's Cold Stone. What do you expect. A favorite of mine is the Chocolate Devotion. They recently came out with some fall flavors such as Marshmallow and Pumpkin. My brother ordered the Pumpkin Pie creation and really enjoyed it. The staff is really friendly! read more

Cold Stone Creamery - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Modesto, California

So, here we go. I ordered a cake from this "wonderful" Cold Stone on Palendale yesterday around 1:30pm, and the person who helped me on the phone (a young, what sounded to be, man who was very intentional about making sure that he understood the information that was provided him). I ordered the Cake Batter Confetti ice cream cake (cake batter ice cream, red velvet cake, with oreos added) and wanted it to read, "Happy 30th Birthday Jessica." They notified me that the cake would be ready at 2:00pm the following day (today). I ventured into the store to pick up the cake around 3:15pm, and was met with a confused employee who informed me that a cake order had never been placed therefore the cake was not ready - again I went in an HOUR AND FIFTEEN minutes after the cake was supposed to be ready. I said that I would be back in an hour, and the employee let us know that their boss would make the fix. I then went back in at 4:15pm and was met with the same confused employee, who let us know that their boss was on their way back from the mall, and that when they returned they would make the cake and call me when finished. In order to rectify the situation, the confused employee said that they would call when the cake was ready. 6:30pm rolled around - TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER THEY CLAIMED THEY WOULD CALL SAYING THE CAKE WOULD BE READY - so I decided to take matters into my own hands and call again. I made the call, and finally the cake was ready. When I into the store, for the THIRD time, they brought the cake out from the back and the cake read in pretty illegible writing, "Happy 30th Birthday Jessia" - name spelled wrong. #perfect I politely inform them of the error and they ask if I would like them to fix the misspelling - uh, of course. They fix the cake and bring it back to show me - the "a" had been scraped off and a "ca" was put in its place so the cake looked even worse. At that point I was pretty irritated, so I voiced my concerns and said there is no way I was paying $30.95 for an extremely late, poorly constructed, misspelled cake. As I was speaking to the manager (Michelle) about the nightmarish experience she repeatedly interrupts me and says that the only deal she can give me is selling the cake for $15.99, which is not an unreasonable price, but given the headache I went through I felt this was a bit ridiculous. In all, the experience was absolutely horrible and we will not be patronizing that establishment again. #sorrymichelle read more

Six months ago I visited this business and my experience left little to be desired and made that known on Yelp. Two months after, I was surprised to get feed back to my review from a patron (Gina). Out of courtesy informing me that the business was under new management. One month after that, I received a message from the business owner himself, Sandeep. He introduced himself as the new owner and invited me back to check out their customer service. I can honestly say that his attention to his business is an A+. Extremely bad management, sub par customer service, and lack of professionalism at this Coldstone. After cutting the custom birthday cake, we discovered they gave us red velvet instead of white cake with cookies and cream filling. Needless to say, the birthday girl was extremely disappointed and did not eat cake for her 13th birthday (because she doesn't even like red velvet)! The next day I went to Coldstone and they did not take ownership for their error, but instead made rude remarks to me and blamed me for not calling them at 9:00 pm when we were having the birthday celebration to tell them of the error. I went to cold stone craving my favorite ice cream, we walked in and saw that they had run out of most of the toppings and most of the ice cream tubs were only half full. Not to mention that they were fairly busy. We ended up going across the street to yogurt mill, which was a much better choice to begin with. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Honestly, they should probably be reported to the health department. My family came here after a trip to Costco since we were already in the area and wanted to treat our toddler to some ice cream. Our son was trying to decide which ice cream flavor he wanted, so my husband was looking at the toppings to see what he wanted for his. He came back over to me and told me there was a roach in one of the canisters. I thought he was joking, so I went to see for myself and there really was a live cockroach crawling around in the canister of shredded coconut. I told the girl behind the counter and she just said "oh," walked over, picked up the container, took it to the back room and came back out to the counter.
