I have been buying cakes from Cold Stone for years but I never will again. I ordered a custom cake and was told to pick up at 10 PM on Saturday night. The cake was a melted mess and NOT what I had ordered. I was made to wait 40 minutes to be told I could have the cake or a refund. Since I paid $50 for the cake and $10 for a tip - I took the refund. There were No apologies, I was treated terribly and had to go home without a cake for my son. The employees had called the owner so I know the owner "Joe" is responsible for the actions taken. And on a side note - when I paid for the cake at the time of ordering, I was faced with the option to leave 3 different tip amounts that were 18%,20%or 25%. For some reason COVID = rude and poor customer service. I've read many reviews about the rude boy at this location, yet the manager allows this to continue. In the name of not spreading germs, please focus on not picking up trash with gloved hands, then picking up spoons and placing them in the container for customers to use without washing hands or changing gloves. Please give all germs an equal opportunity to not spread. Not just the germs that spread through masks. The "No mask, no entry" focus has blinded this location to true cleanliness. Christina was very nice and helped me by preparing my ice cream cup but I do encourage the manager to provide additional training and reinforce the uniform policy. Brook walked around and did not ask my husband if received help or he needed to try some ice cream. She walked around the area. Christina handed me my ice cream cup and asked my husband if he was ready to order. My husband asked to try some ice cream and provided good customer service. She prepared his ice cream and we walked toward the cash register when I noticed that Aliyah was staring at me and gazed at me with a serious face. Before I left I asked Christina her name because none one the girls were wearing name tags. When I came home I was shocked by the low level of customer service I received that I called call Cold Stone to ask for the other girls names. I called and Brook answered the home. I asked Brook for the other girls names. She gave me their names and then asked me to tell her what was wrong. I told her that I would be calling her supervisor to discuss my concerns. I went into this location today to get the whole family some ice cream like I have many times I was turned away. They had a sign on the door and ice cream area about no mask no service. Like other places, I respect they want to try to have as many people as possible wear a mask but I'm unable to wear one due to medical reasons. I was told they had one if I needed one but I explained I couldn't for medical purposes and they told me they wouldn't be able to help me then. I could go back to my car, call and place a order over the phone and give my card number and they would make it. I NEVER give my card number over the phone no matter what. Today was my tipping point with this place! I'm not one to write many reviews, if I don't like how I'm treated somewhere, I just don't go back, but this coldstone location really goes above and beyond! I have been getting ice cream here for about 6 months since I moved to the valley, and our experience has been consistently awesome! My kids love the Oreo overload and myself a classic butter pecan ("Gotta Have It" of course)! On top of the highest of standards maintained at this store, the employees infectious enthusiasm keeps us coming back for more! My daughter Jaci knows many of the employees by name, today she was beyond excited to converse with employees Sara and Kennedy as her ice cream was created! Jaci says she wants to work at coldstone when she's older, talk about hospitality!!! My son Charlie is much more quiet and reserved than his sister, but still enjoys himself consistently in the welcoming atmosphere provided by the coldstone team! I've recommended this location to friends before, I've even taken family from out of town here when they've visited - and I'll continue to do so! 3.5? I'm a wimp - I want halfsies. My kids love this place. I think the ice cream is probably really good but it's just too rich for me. Most recently I got a kid's cup of salted caramel. If you read my reviews I'm a big fan of salted caramel. This wasn't salted and not very caramelly but very rich. The kids get cotton candy with gummy bears and other stuff mixed in.
