We had an Andy's near our house in Illinois so when we found this one, we had to go. I'm a chocolate malt kinda guy but my wife likes the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer. it's Andy's frozen custard blended with creamy peanut butter and brownies, then filled with hot fudge. You can't go wrong with that. The day I went it was kind of late, and kind of not really an ice cream kind of night, so there was no line, and I got my order within minutes. So that was nice. Just another great experience at another Andy's and I don't mean just because they have the greatest custard in the world even though they do! We ordered a medium sized seasonal concrete flavor and asked for two spoons so the two of us could share it. What we were handed at the drive up window was a premade plastic wrapped caramel apple turned upside down in a paper cup, wooden stick sticking straight up and two plastics spoons. Weird. Very weird. When we said we never eat candy apples and could not figure out what we are to use two plastics spoons for with a candy apple on a wooden stick in a paper cup, another employee took over jumping right into action. She took the product back, gave us a full refund and gave us the medium sized concrete we thought we had ordered . . . with two spoons. We love Andy's custard, of course. It's delicious. I love this place, usually it's fast. The ice cream is always good. They mess up my order pretty frequently but it's OK because they usually fix it so the service is mostly awesome. In an Out really quick great setting but today I came and I ordered my regular stuff and again, it was wrong. And they usually charge me extra because I get waffle cone pieces instead of pecans on one of their banana split. Well long story short, they knew my order was wrong proceeded to hand it to me and when I came back, they said oh you know how the boys are. I don't know who "Boys" they are talking about. But handing me my ice cream and knowing it was incorrect was not a good look. It's not cheap to get ice cream here nor drive down the block and notice it's incorrect. My mom and I wanted to try the new banana pudding shake from Chick-Fil-a, only to realize it was a Sunday and that establishment was closed. We were upset, but then remembered a place we always used to go when I was a student at Missouri State. This is how we found ourselves driving to Andy's on a quest for some quality ice cream. We pulled up to the building and were the only ones there. Can I just say... why are prices outrageous? There was basically nothing under $6.50 on the entire menu. The small concrete was $6.50, which is what my mom and I got. She tried the new key lime pie concrete and I got a peanut butter and banana concrete. Our ice creams were delicious and creamy, but still. Maybe that's why no one was there; people can't justify spending upwards of $10 for ice cream in this economy. The girl at the window couldn't be bothered to at least look like she wanted to be there, let alone talk to us. She had a slight attitude, as if us giving her something to do at her job was the biggest inconvenience of her day. I can kind of relate though; I know what it's like working in the service industry. Totally love this place. It reminds me of an ice cream parlor from the 70s. I like how there is a cashier outside in the Drive up line to help you with explanations of the menu items and placing your order. We ordered 4 items. The Oreo shake which was great because the Oreo taste more real than other places. I have the turtle Sunday and it was the best I've ever had in my life. I loved how the caramel was hot and rested on the ledge inside the cup so you could scoop part of it with your ice cream at your luxury because they were definitely generous. We loved it so much. Okay, the first time I had Andy's was when I went to my brother's house. I did not know what to expect. But i was blown away! I don't remember what i got the first time but that was 11/10. So creamy and fresh. Gosh. I still think about it when i want ice cream and that was months ago. I tried something new which was the birthday cake shake. GOSH, that was like heaven touched my heart good. I love how long the line is but goes so fast. The staff are very nice and they give pup cones to doggos. The James Brownie Funky Jackhammer should probably be illegal due to how delicious it is, but thankfully for all of us the law has not caught on. I was a big fan of Andy's. We tried it out around 1pm on a Saturday. Not very busy and we were able to order immediately in the drive thru. You order directly at the window here, there is no speaker, and they do have a menu for you to look at closer to the drive thru entrance. We tried a regular Choco express shake and a small snowmonster concrete. Both of them were very good! The Choco express shake is chocolate custard with espresso and caramel. It was great especially if you like chocolate/coffee shakes. The snowmonster concrete is vanilla custard with strawberries and melted chocolate chips. They do NOT skimp on the amount of toppings for their concretes. Also the small was huge!! Definitely worth the price. Overall I would definitely recommend trying this out for a sweet treat. I hope I'll be back in the area sooner than later so I can stop by. read more

We had our first ever Andy's experience today- it was amazing. They have fun names for their menu items and you can build your own custard concoction. The inside looks very clean and organized. A while ago, my wife and I went to the Andy's Frozen Custard near Signal Butte and Southern. Upon arrival and parking, there was a single customer in front of us and several standing around waiting for their orders. After the customer finished, the cashier disappeared to do... AFC-type things, I guess. Meanwhile, no one else manned the register/window. This went on for over 15 minutes. We just stood there, waiting in the residual evening heat, bugs buzzing around us, and a nearby light flickering uncontrollably. After enough time, we took off, since it looked like two people were working and the rest were standing around joking, laughing, and having a good time. My wife has since passed away, but we never went back while she was still here. As you can imagine, I do not recommend it. read more

They have fresh fruit toppings and delicious fresh made waffle cones, waffle bowls, etc. I also love that they serve small one scoop sizes to big large sizes. They have syrups and crumbled cookies. It really is my favorite ice cream place to be at in Arizona. You can pull up to the counter or go through the drive thru. They have that old school ambiance and while some places do not offer inside seating, there are benches and tables to sit on. The service is very kind and very helpful. I've reflected on leaving this review since my last visit. Although I don't like ice cream, I very much enjoy Andy's. I'm leaving one star for the unfortunately poor "service" from ironically very sour customer service. Each time I've returned to this establishment,(Southern and Greenfield) from our first time visit, (this would have been the fourth) the visit is always uncomfortable with very unfriendly BOH. Aside from working for the service industry, a genuine smile goes a long way not to mention encourages continued customers. I hope Andy's not only fixes their choices in hiring applicants, but reflects in possible double sizing their larger options, the ice cream is just too damn delicious for a quart size.. On our way home from lunch we decided to get off the freeway and look for a treat. We were lucky enough to come across Andy's. I'd never heard of this business before today. At first glance it looked closed. It is Easter Sunday so I would've understood. The parking lot was empty, but as we almost pulled out we saw some employees inside and a car in the drive thru. The location isn't too large, but offers inside or drive thru options. We decided to do the drive thru. You pull up to the menu, but once you know what you want it asks you to pull up to the window to order like it was back in the day. Think old school malt shop kinda. While the front car was helped a nice boy came out to our car with an iPad and took our order. We decided on the root-beer freeze, triple chocolate concrete, James Brownie Funky Jackhammer, and a tin roof Sunday. We had our custard pretty quick and on our way. My James brownie was delicious, but I realized real quick I should've ordered a small. The medium was way too much for me and only made it halfway through; same with my daughter and her chocolate concrete. My son loved the root beer freeze and the Sunday was a hit with my husband. The custard was smooth and toppings yummy. They offer banana splits, what they call a pick six to fry assorted ones with friends, quarts/pints and more. My James brownie not only came with brownie bits, but peanut butter as well. Bummer there's not any in the west valley so we could frequent more. The treats here are good, the people are friendly and the service is fast. The drive-thru is convenient, especially during these weird times. They either have a live person working the line, or during less busy times, you just order at the window. The custard is tasty by itself (just get chocolate or vanilla in a cone or dish)... and you can upgrade a bit to a crunchy waffle cone. If you want something more exciting, they have a variety of sundaes, concretes, shakes, sodas and "jackhammers" -- concretes with a hot fudge (or other topping, I guess) center. They have an app and a rewards program. I don't think you can order ahead on the app... and I'm not sure you'd want to since they kick things out so fast anyway... and who wants a sundae that's been sitting around waiting for YOU?? This location is good... just a note that the staff are wearing masks, but I didn't see a single customer wearing a mask in the non-drive thru line.
