I ordered a cake batter batter batter and ending up getting a bunch of ice cream with nothing mixed into it. The employee was also lack luster in customer service, he didn't respond to my question and when the employee ringing my wife up asked what I got, he blatantly ignored him making it incredibly awkward. I've been here a few times and I just wasn't impressed. This is now the second time I've thrown away a nearly full "like it" size. This last time, I ordered their Oreo thing. It was just really bland and the cookies didn't taste like Oreos. That or they weren't real Oreos. I kept expecting to get a little piece of the middle of the cookie somewhere in my ice cream, but didn't. I wasn't a fan of the mini chocolate chips they mixed into it either. I've just never liked frozen chocolate. My kids really enjoyed their ice cream of course, but Coldstone Creamery just doesn't do it for me unfortunately. This overpriced ice cream store delivers an underwhelming product at exhorbitant prices. The staff is trained to up-sell in a chirpy, annoying manner. Their cheerfulness is so overworked that it makes your skin crawl and you can almost believe you've been transported onto the set of an unbearable children's show. But the worst is yet to come. If you're contemplating eating your ice cream at the store, think again. They sing children's songs -- really badly and loudly -- in unison, while mixing each ice cream with its chosen ingredients on the cold slab. I had a cake flavored ice cream that tasted like preservatives and fake stuff. I'm not that hard to please -- I eat Suzy Q's. Nope! Awful experience. I went yesterday with my 2 toddlers and "needed" to get them and their friends some treats on a hot day. We are very aware of COVID safety concerns and masked up but when we walked in to choose our ice creams we were curtly told we had to leave (stand in the scorching heat) and call or order online. Order what?! From a menu. Just not the ice cream experience I want for my kids. There are ice cream places open now that somehow manage to safely let kids look and taste the ice cream before they order. This was completely irrational. I get the concept of staying safe. I actually washed my hands and carried hand sanitizer in my purse before the pandemic. Again, I understand being safe but this felt like the delusional creepy, fear based twilight zone. We left and thankfully remembered Josefs cafe where we had a delightful experience and even better treats. My kids were able to go in, look at the treats and choose them. I will not support the neurotic, paranoid, completely insane theory that we are in a zombie apocalypse and must completely isolate ourselves. Maybe we should all wear hazmat suits too! Coldstone Used To Be One Of My Favorite Places, As Their Ice Cream Has Always Been Very Delicious. However, CS Has Not Been As Efficient In Getting Orders Out. They Say They Offer Delivery Through Doordash But They're Almost Always "Closed" Since They're So Busy. Ive Been There About 4 Times In The Last 6 Months And Ive Noticed That They Never Have More Than 2-3 Employees Serving 25+ People At A Time. Customers Get Frustrated That The Orders They Place In Advance Take Even Longer To Come Out Than Those Those Orders Were Placed In Person. This Is Actually What Happened Today When I Went In. A Gentleman Had Been Waiting 45 Minutes For 2 Ice Creams When We Arrived. About 15 Minutes Passed And The Employees Said They Couldn't Find His Order. He Showed Them On His Phone And They Said They Would Put It In Next. We Got Our Order 5 Minutes After That Which Was Actually 30 Minutes After Our Order Was Said To Be Ready--And He Was Still Left Waiting. Its Not Efficient For Customers That Have To Wait So Long For Orders That Used To Take 2 Minutes And Wrong to Leave Employees To Keep Up With That Many Orders By Themselves. read more

No matter how many times they've traveled this route, the driver always get lost on the way. "somebody look up directions" but nobody does. reno's lights drift overhead, there's something surreal about the journey, and a feeling of strangeness that follows into the arrival. it's as if there is no distance between the car and the store, as if the parking lot isn't real and we've just left one place and then entered another. we order ice cream. it's pretty good. five stars read more

We might have hit them on a bad night, but we weren't impressed with the service on our visit. We came in at 9:30 on a Sunday night. They closed at 10:00. We were greeted at the door by one of the employees, who informed us that they only could accept cash. A sign on the door (written in crayon) said the same thing. As our group entered, he made sure to ask each and every one of is if we were going to pay by cash. A little over the top, in my opinion. When we started to order, he (or another one of the employees) informed us that we could order shakes, or a number of items of the menu. Basically, only the regular ice cream and mix-ins only. I don't know what was going on, but we suspected that they had already cleaned up in preparation for closing and didn't want to have to do it again, so they limited what they were willing to sell us. We suspected that they had already closed out the credit/debit machines, and thus could only accept cash. We really don't know if either of these things were true, so it's probably not fair to judge them based on those assumptions. The one positive thing about the experience was that they sung happy birthday for one of the people in our group. (we did tip them beforehand, which is customary at Cold Stone to get them to sing) As we were walking out, the same guy who greeted us at the door informed us that if we were planning to sit at the tables out front, that he was going to be bringing them inside in a few minutes. Basically, something along the lines of "don't get too comfortable". I don't know what they were up to, or what was going on that night, but we definitely got the feeling that the employees were more interested in closing the store on time than helping their customers in a courteous way. I've tried many cake batter flavored ice creams and pastries, but NOTHING IS BETTER THAN COLD STONE'S CAKE BATTER ICE CREAM!! There is also a really cool gal that works there named Tristan; so for me, take the ice cream from heaven AND great service, you get 5 STARS FOR EVERYTHING!! It has always been a go-to place back home because it was situated right next to a theater. If we had a long wait for the next showing of a certain movie (which happened almost all the time - God, we really should have learned how to use Fandango or something), we'd find ourselves wandering over to Cold Stone. Come rain, come shine - we were stuffing ice cream down our throats. The Strawberry Cheesecake Fantasy was my treat. Every time I headed out to Cold Stone, I was always ordering this piece of work. And in a waffle bowl? HELL. YES. The little bites of cheesecake were my absolute favorite parts (because really -- who doesn't like cheesecake?) and crunching on the waffle bowl when I was finished was the perfect way to end the entire delicious nomming experience. If there was any possible way for someone to install a Cold Stone Creamery here in Fernley so I could get my fix, I will pay you with everything that's in my wallet. TAKE MY MONEY NOW. read more

It's been over a year since I've been to coldstone and my oh my that new chocolate cake batter ganache flavor is on point! There was a great crew inside tag at this location for a Friday night, they were busy with a long line an hour before close and these kids were so polite and peppy and quick and friendly despite being a little str see maybe. The ice cream was delicious and that's what I love about coldstone, it's like the Starbucks of ice cream. Just consistent and fantastic product every time no matter the state you're in . Sad to say they lost my business! For years this has been my favorite ice cream, and I would always stop in for a treat. After a "flavored milk" milkshake, with absolutely no ice cream consistency, I called the store last night. What's not to love about ice cream? It's hard to choose from the many wonderful chains and local places for this delicious treat. I like Cold Stone because this particular location has a consistency that cannot be ignored. The staff is extremely helpful, and professional, even during their busiest times. The flavor selection is solid, and with seasonal favorites, it keeps me coming back for more treats. My favorite is a Winter flavor: peppermint, and get it with marshmallows mixed in. read more

Love this place so much. I always get the like it size strawberry banana rendezvous. It's creamy and so good. The like it size is about $5 and the love it size (medium) is only 50 cents more. They have the largest size called "gotta have it" and it looks like it can feed about 2 people. They're more than willing to let the customers try the ice creams! read more

Super long line on a Friday night, but the staff here were quick and efficient and able to move the line right along, so there was not a long wait. They were very accommodating and helpful when we were ordering. They were able to go over the gluten-free options for my wife which was very important to us. I wasn't really in the mood for ice cream like the rest of my family so I was able to enjoy a blueberry and banana smoothie which was very tasty. The ice cream portions were good sized and my family really enjoyed the flavors. They have a nice sized section of tables to sit at and eat, and they even had a bathroom that was actually in the store so we didn't have to go into Shoppers Square Mall for my young daughter to use the bathroom. The people who work here have really great customer service skills, and the ice cream is great. This was our first time here but it definitely won't be the last. Great experience. read more
