The staff was very helpful and courteous. They immediately greeted us and fulfilled our order. I got sweet cream mixed with cookie dough with marshmallows mixed in. The marshmallows were so stale! They were crunchy! I was so disappointed. Everyone else was satisfied with their orders, so I will only take one star away. Everything was clean, which is a plus for an ice cream shop. They only had one employee working on a busy Sat around 4pm. We waited almost 25 mins in line. Employee was super sweet but all orders, in person and pick-up as well as ringing people up were left on her alone. A delivery driver had to abandon their customers order too because waiting was pushing her other customers orders behind (6/9/26). Feel bad that management let this happen to this employee. read more

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Coldstone. Their sweet cream is a classic and sooo good. I got that with brown sugar mixed with butterfinger and heath bar. Their ice cream is so creamy, you can't beat it. I like that they have waffle cones but as a cup style, it makes eating it a little easier. What a cool place! Literally! They just changed their summer hours to closing at 9:00 pm instead of 9:30. We just make it through the door at 8:59 as they were closing up... but the guy behind the cool slab was like, yeah come on in! We ordered our ice creams and as they were being folded, sprinkled and scooped, several other customers came in. It was past 9, so the manager on duty, Cassidy, had to let them know we were the last customers, and was like... so sorry guys... (sorry not sorry, haha... it was quittin' time, am I right?) So we sat outside eating our tasty treats, when a lady and her two small kids came to the door. We told them it was closed, and the little girls faces fell. But then, wait! Cassidy opened the door and asked them what flavors they wanted... the smiles returned on their faces! Cotton candy, said one! Strawberry, said the other! Cassidy said "I'll be right back!" I walked into here looking for something different and boy did I find it. Theyre ice cream flavors are definitely different. I tried something that had brownies, vanilla ice cream and chunks of something delicious in it. I'm still not sure why they use the spatula type utensils to fold and mold the ice cream into shape but it's good none the less so I don't care. I like the concept of Cold Stone. I like all the mix-ins and stuff. I recently ordered the "Germanchokolate Kake" or whatever it is called. It had chocolate ice cream, pecans, coconut, caramel, and brownie all mixed together. Definitely a calorie splurge for my inner fatty, but it was Oh So Delicious!!! Customer service was great. By the way, it was a $$ splurge as well. $4 and change for the smallest size, called "Like It", which is equivalent to approximately 1 large scoop. read more

My family and I went to this Cold Stone and they got 2 out of 4 of our orders wrong. We had to wait for 25 minutes with only three people in front of us because seemingly half of the staff were in the back talking and not coming out. When we finally got up, the workers that were on seemed overwhelmed because they weren't getting help and they seemed new. We ordered off of the list of signature creations and they forgot the nuts and brownie in the founders favorite and I got a cookie dough special and the ice cream I got had no cookie dough in it. I feel bad for the young workers who even commented that they were incredibly stressed when we pointed out the missing brownie, but it's frustrating to wait that long for incorrect orders. read more

No greeting when we walked in and walked out back when we were looking at the mix-in's as we did not know immediately what we wanted. Needless to say her tip jar on the counter was empty. This franchise is really good if you like to add candy to your ice cream. I like the Chocolate Devotion signature creation and my wife likes the strawberry Banana Rendezvous which is no longer on the menu but they still know how to make it. My daughter like the watermelon sorbet with chocolate chips added. If you want the add-ins to the ice cream mixed in well, you need to make sure you tell them and watch them do it. Overall, this is a nice dessert experience for the family!!! The nice thing about the rewards program is you can add your whole family under one email address and get rewards for all birthdays. This isn't the best cold tone I've been too. I typically like Coldstone, but this experience wasn't too pleasurable. I got the Oreo madness signature ice cream and they dumped a handful of chocolate chips in it which completely overpowered the taste of the ice cream. It had barely any Oreos and a lot of Chocolate chips, so it defeated the concept completely. They also had an out of order restroom, so they need to get that fixed as soon as possible. read more

I love Cold Stone ice cream (Birthday Cake Remix soo good) but after visiting this location about three time in the last year, the experience is never quite right. I once came here and ordered the Banana Caramel Crunch, saw rotten Grinch worthy bananas on the counter and thought "I'm sure those are just bananas they have not throw away yet" and I looked away and went to the cash register. I went to the car and when I tasted my ice cream I had a mouthful of stringy rotten banana! Yuck! I visited this location a second figuring last time was just an off day and I had received a gift are for my birthday, so why not? I asked for the Birthday Cake Remix once again and tasted it just to be sure that nothin was off and it tasted fine, but the problem this time was when I went to pay. I give my gift card to the cashier and to my surprise I'm told that gift cards are not taken at this location. What? It's a generic Cold Stone gift card! Oh well, I guess I'll stick to FroYo or go to the Cold Stone in Short Pump Mall. read more

I am a big ice cream fan, and I have never found any ice cream displeasing. This was the first. May be its because of the hardness of it. I had CHOCOLATE DEVOTION as am a big CHOCO FAN and I had no pleasure of having chocolate. The choco chips in it were tasteless, the brownie in it was also tasteless. There was no sign in the shop displaying that they do not accept coupons. It would have saved me embarrassment when my friend and I went there. We came here as a treat for real ice cream instead of the "healthy" sugar free, fat free, artificial synthetic ingredients you cant pronounce and that will cause genetic mutations. We wanted to be frivolous and indulge in sugar, fat, cream and tickle our taste buds. God told us to rest on the Sabbath and this place provided a close facsimile. The employees were really friendly and entertaining in how they mix their ingredients. I had something along the lines of death by chocolate while my husband had something fruity and delish. We could barely finish our items but did so anyways because they were truly decadent. Dillon and Peyton were the names of the two helping me and they gave me the best customer service I've ever received in an ice cream shop. I understand it's cold and people normally don't get ice cream when it's cold, and I understand you have items to prep, things to clean etc... but it's 7:45.. my boyfriend and I were greeted by a smaller blonde girl... we both walk over the the ice cream and I just happen to look at the poster to see if I wanted the new milk and cookies thing. This girl said nothing else but continued her conversation with a gentleman who appeared to be changing the trash. So this girl went from unwrapping Reese's cup NOT WASHING HER HANDS to serving us without gloves, rings us up and I paid in cash to back to putting on gloves WITHOUT washing her hands to unwrap the Reece's.... that's disgusting and how you get someone sick. You wash your hands after changing tasks ESPECIALLY after handling money. This is gross. My favorite creation I made up consist of cheesecake ice cream with snickers, graham crackers, and a small squeeze of caramel. This combination is ice cream heaven. The first mix in is free but you are charged for additional mix ins . The customer can taste test the ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. The smoothies at Cold Stone Creamery are pretty good. This location is on VCU campus. The service is steady and the employees are friendly. During the beginning of semester (spring) this location can become very crowded. Sometimes the line is out the door. This Cold Stone Creamery has a very small seating area. I'll say about 5 tables. The ice cream is always great, but the staff here were excellent....all very friendly and engaging. The only issue was you needed to get "the key" to use the bathroom, but I suppose I could understand that. Friendly workers always brings people back.
