Let me start by saying: Hi, my name is Ry, and I am an addict. I have an unhealthy obsession with desserts. Having said that, do with this review what you will. I've been to Nothing Bundt Cakes a few times now and I've yet to try a flavor I didn't like. Despite my sugar habit, I do tend to prefer cakes without icing, but the icing on their cakes is a nice complement to the texture. Their cakes are somehow dense and moist (pause), much akin to a soaked pound cake. I wish the cookies and cream flavor wasn't just seasonal since that was my favorite. From their staples, my faves include (in no particular order) strawberries and cream, confetti, snickerdoodle, and white chocolate raspberry (a surprise favorite). Red velvet would be a top contender if not for the chocolate chips. I don't want crunchy ingredients in my cake. Luckily these cakes freeze well, so I pretend to ration them by putting them in the freezer for a few hours and then microwave them very soon thereafter. The first time I had one of these I was actually out of state. Imagine my absolute joy to discover 2 locations here in Richmond! I have only had the ginormous cupcakes or mini cakes, but my goodness I have never had something so moist and delectable. My fave is the red velvet. They had 2 pre-built boxers of the mini cakes, so tiny and cute! The first box is the 4 most popular flavors nationwide apparently, and the other box had the seasonal flavor key lime, so we had to get that one! After getting mini/pedis next door it was the perfect way to round out our self care day! First off... let me say this is such a cute idea/spin off of a big Ole bundle cake with the hole in the middle. A friend asked me to run her by here, and naturally, I "had" to go inside and couldn't resist ordering a cake for myself and my daughter. The first good sign was when we pulled up, there were several different groups going in and forming a line. Hmm must be good right? I stood in line, staring in the glass case thinking damn, these look so good. Now, let me warn you it's not cheap. Remember, these are mini cakes, so they're a lil pricey, but honestly, everywhere you go for a slice, they're about the same. I chose confetti for my daughter, and lo and behold.. they had my favorite... strawberry and creme. Yall know I can't walk away from that. My one and only complaint was not seeing a dairy free option. I would have preferred that, maybe in the future they will have it though! read more

I love this place! They are always consistent in taste, flavor, and customer service. That means so much! I love the cute shop and party gifts and decor, and the offerings are always just the perfect thing to top off someone specials birthday. I order bundlets the most and they are the perfect size to nibble on for a few hours or a day or so, depending on your mood and craving for sweetness. I've also ordered whole bundt cakes for special events and love that they will top them with the decorations and such for the occasion for very minimal cost. The cakes stay moist a good while and are perfection every time. I love that it's like a homemade cake feel and look without having to do the labor. I haven't met a flavor there I haven't enjoyed, but I'll say faves are carrot cake, red velvet, strawberry and creme, and white chocolate raspberry! Overall Taste I absolutely love Nothing Bundt Cake! We have tried pretty much every flavor, however our favorite is the Limited Edition Cookies and Cream Oreo! There are several different size options to choose from. This go around we ordered the 10" Bundt Cake in Oreo for my daughter's birthday celebration. My favorite part is the combination of texture and flavor in each bite of moist cake. Each cake is crowned with their signature cream cheese frosting, which is some of the best frosting for sure! (The crown went down because it was in the heat for several hours, however the rest of the frosting held up very well.) Overall Thoughts While there are several locations near us, we love going to the Short Pump location. When ordering over the phone and in person, each associate is nice and helpful. Flavor availability is never an issue, the store is always clean, and we are always in and out in a short amount of time. The frosting has just the right amount of sweetness, but it doesn't overpower the dense, rich cake below! I could definitely see these cakes being served at a wedding! Totally retro! Like I've never in my life had a cold moist cake, and geezus once its room temperature, its melt in your mouth. All of their cakes are wonderful! The strawberries and cream is my favorite. This is an excellent addition to Short Pump! Who knew bundt cakes were this good? I must say, I went in thinking surely these would not be worth the hype, but they absolutely were. I ordered two medium sized bundt cakes: white chocolate raspberry and lemon. The young man at the cash register was extremely helpful and nice. He answered all of my questions and helped me decide what to get. While I was there, someone else was in there ordering a birthday cake and I was surprised to see that there is a cute selection of party supplies, including small gifts, gift bags, and more! I gotta tell you, I made some GREAT choices because those two flavors were bangin! I didn't mean to eat them both in one sitting but I absolutely did. The icing is perfection because although it's not a ton, it's sweet enough and you get some with each bite. I am seriously so impressed. They also seem to suit the palates of people who love sweets like myself, and palates of people who don't care for sweets too much like my friends. My favorite thing about this spot was that all of their cake flavors come in mini size, and you can get a box of a dozen in whichever assortments of flavors you wish. My vote hands down is the carrot because I know a good carrot cake but you can't go wrong with any of them honestly, we also got pecan praline, red velvet, vanilla and lemon. I should have gotten that guys name who was working this morning but he was out of this world amazing!!! He was so sweet and kind!! I asked questions, he answered. He was just so polite. I don't even know at this point if I'm writing the review about him or the cakes!! Lol Based on customer service alone, i will be back... But the cake!!! WHEW CHILEEEEE.... Never a disappointment... this location is fairly new but the bestie and i will and have several times driven to Newport News just for this cake... greedy? Yes... do we care? My daughter got me a carrot cake for Mother's Day. Yummy. It was delivered to my house.in a nice clear wrap with a card attached.

Perfect cakes! We ordered a confetti cake with Fiesta decor the evening before it was needed. The cake was ready an hour earlier than I ordered it for with no issues! I had a coupon for BOGO bundtlets which worked out great so our kid didn't blow all over the big cake with her candle. The owner, Doug, was SO nice and caring. He threw in a 3rd Bundtlets for me. Everyone was amazed at how moist the cakes were! We've now tried the confetti, marble, red velvet, lemon, chocolate chip, and carrot. All of them are delicious. The chocolate chip was way too much chocolate for us. The carrot was Uh-mazing! The confetti is very moist and the kids love the different colors. The marble is a good mixture. I personally do not like red velvet cake, but my husband enjoyed it. The cakes can be ordered with extra icing, but it is NOT needed. The cakes provides enough icing for each slice. I love the flavor the icing provides, but it's so easy to take off if you're not into icing and you can still enjoy plenty of moist cake! We will be back the next time we need a cake! read more

Who knew that I needed bundt cakes this badly! The cakes are nice and moist, and I appreciate that the frosting is minimal. You definitely get to appreciate the texture of the cake without biting into a sludge of frosting. They have a bunch of options, and on our trip, we decided to get the smallest size of the White Chocolate Raspberry. I did like the flavor, but the raspberry was only concentrated on the bottom portion of the cake. Don't know if that's by design or just an error in the baking. They also have larger bundt sizes which are great if you wanted to bring them for a birthday. Unfortunately, for the mini bundts, you have to order a dozen bundt cakes. Moreover, they have a bunch of birthday-themed cake decorations right in the shop! Wow. I can't believe this business was right under my nose and I had no idea. The cakes are fabulous and I am an (admitted) fussy baker. Took the Key Lime home and it was GONE in no time.
