Ordered a birthday cake three days ago. Received an email 13 minutes before I was supposed to pick up my cake that "Restaurant could not make order: no time to make the order." No one will pick up the phone.

Yum! I got the Brownie A La Coldstone again because it is SO GOOD!!!!! The brownie is warm and super moist! The ice cream is covered with chocolate and caramel and then topped with whipped cream and nuts. Oh my gosh it is delicious! But so decadent and rich! Every time I get one I think I need it all to myself and I don't want to share. But by the time I'm done and eating that last couple of bites, I think to myself that I should have shared it with someone. But still, I get it again the next time. I will forever get it. My family always get the ice cream with mix ins, and they love them. But I stick with the brownie sundae. This location has a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory inside as well which is fun. They make fantastic caramel apples! They have a lot of chocolates and fudge things but I'm a creature of habit and stick with my favs.

Display case freezer was broken, but every ice cream flavor was still available in the back.

I'm adding an extra star for the service. My daughter has celiac disease and needs to eat gluten-free. She pointed to a picture and said she wanted the mint mint chocolate chip, not realizing the picture also included fudge and brownie. We did say that she needed gluten-free. The worker behind the counter questioned the order and we responded that we checked the allergy guidelines on their website and that the mint ice cream was gluten-free. When they brought out the order, it was clear that the ice cream had brownie and fudge in it. The communication problem was our fault - there was no denying that. But they were so gracious and immediately fixed a new order so my daughter could have a treat that was gluten-free. All the ice cream that we ordered was good. The store was organized. There was a sign on the ice cream saying that the display freezer was broken. But when I questioned the workers they said that they had still had every ice cream flavor in the back. So I'm adding an extra star for the wonderful service. We will be back. Thanks Cold Stone for being such an awesome place for us to visit today.

They try, kind people but not sure if they couldn't hear me well because they got my orders wrong. I almost thought I wasn't speaking loud enough The serving size for all of my ice creams were below the rim of our cups. Even my gotta love it (which wasn't what I ordered) was a small serving which I didn't mind because I asked for love it anyway. My husband ordered a mint chip shake (color wasn't green but I was told it was made with min ice cream - totally fine with that) however it taste so bad. The ice cream used must have been old, like it was melted then refrozen. Not good at all! The cashier rung up my order I signed the receipt and he was gone, so I had to look for my own spoon and when I couldn't find one and no one helped me (sigh) I reached over the counter to grab one :(

Worst Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Utah. If you want rock hard caramels and week old apples this is the place for you. The ice cream has always been fine and they should have stayed that way.

I've been to this location a few times, and I've never been very disappointed with their ice cream. For a smaller location with fewer employees and customers, this is an acceptable place to stop by and pick up some ice cream. They've been out of stock of the cookie dough mix-in both times I've been to this location, however, but they make up for that with their exceptional desserts and their quick service. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes after I've ordered for me to receive my treat. They also serve a number of other products - caramel apples, shakes, and chocolates (due to a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory located in the same building), among other things. I personally have not yet tried any of these, but I am sure they won't disappoint. Overall, I haven't had any bad experiences with this location in particular, and I would come back again.

Now that I have your attention and I've given you an ear worm, I'll share a story. My friends and I spent a Saturday on ísbíltúr, which is an Icelandic tradition of taking an ice cream road trip. We hit five different places around the Salt Lake valley and lived to tell about it; with only a slight stomachache. This one is a drive through with a small walk-up window and seating outside. It happened to be our last stop on our journey and was the perfect ending to our adventure! We ordered our cones at the window and then sat on the patio in the warm evening air, enjoying our final treats of the day. The patio is situated between two drive through lines, so the setting is a little unusual, but still good vibes. Blue Moo offers Blue Bell ice cream (IYKYK) and is generous in their portion sizes. There's a lovely blue cow photo op adjacent to the drive thru (logistics can be a little tricky if there are cars queuing up).

Blue Moo carries the iconic Blue Bell ice cream - a brand that isn't sold in grocery stores here in Utah. They had a great variety of flavors and each scoop comes in a cup AND a cone! We got the Oatmeal Cookie and Pistachio Almond. Both delicious! The prices were reasonable and the portions were decent. The staff were super nice and the tables outside were kept clean for those that want to stay and eat their ice cream. Can't wait to go back to try more flavors! P.s. there are a lot of Gluten Free options too!

Definitely recommend reading the menu before walking in. We sampled 4 different flavors and each were underwhelming. They had a lot of fun flavors, but it was mostly an unflavored ice cream base with a bunch of mix ins. We got the oreo & ice cream sandwich mix in one and all we tasted was the great value brand ice cream sandwich in each bite. I wish the base ice cream had more flavor. The best part was the cone. They are served warm and the flavor was perfect. The cone carries the ice cream. It's also a spendier ice cream (we paid $9 for 2 scoops and a cone). For the price i'd recommend Coldstone instead. The experience was fun though. The workers were in costumes and all the decor was centered around the 1700s. The workers were so sweet and did a great job.

Even the ice cream flavors and drinking chocolate get clever historically-inspired names, which adds to the charm. Portions are generous. I usually get the one scoop, which in reality is three small scoops. Get two if you're sharing, and three if you can handle a full sugar coma. My personal favorite, after working my way through nearly the entire menu, is the Abigail Adams' Salted Crack Cookie with salted caramel, cookie chunks, roasted pecans, and smoked almonds. Simply delicious. I'm happy to pay the fair price for premium ice cream this good. They recently opened the Lehi-Traverse Mountain location, and it's packed on weekends. Whether you're bringing a date or the kids, come ready to wait in line, and budget time for everyone to sample more than one flavor before committing. Worth every minute.

It's rich, creamy, ridiculously good, and absolutely worth the stop. And the Concrete? GET THE CONCRETE. Thick, loaded with whatever mix-ins make you happy, and somehow every bite reminds you why frozen custard is in an entirely different category from ordinary ice cream. If you're anywhere near Nielsen's, do yourself--and your taste buds--a favor and stop. Don't drive past. Don't tell yourself you'll get it next time. Pull in, order a Concrete, and enjoy your life choices. Five stars. Fantastic custard. Happy taste buds. ZERO regrets!

It's similar to ice cream but denser and richer because it's churned in a special machine that incorporates significantly less air. It also must contain egg yolks, which many ice creams skip entirely. The result is a smoother, more indulgent texture that's in a category of its own. Nielsen's leans into that heritage with a menu that covers concretes, mix-ins, floats, sundaes, multiple sizes, and a full food menu straight out of a 1950s cafeteria. Nostalgic, ambitious, and a lot to choose from. I visited the South Jordan location and have to be honest about the full experience. The tables were dirty, the staff (mostly teenagers) were focused on the counter and not on cleaning, and the wait was long enough that I nearly walked out. The double burger was unremarkable, the fries came out unsalted, but the corn dog was surprisingly good. None of that is why you're here, though. The cherry almond concrete is why you're here. It is outstanding! Generous almond pieces throughout, and the cherry flavor tasted genuinely real, not like something from a syrup bottle. I've had frozen custard all over, and this is legitimately my favorite. My advice: skip the food, go straight for the custard. Nielsen's earns every star on that alone.
