4.12.26: Recently got an email from Cold Stone regarding new spring flavors: Strawberry Marshmallow and Lemon Cake Batter. Marshmallow and lemon anything are some of my favorite flavors and couldn't wait to try them. It was my first time at this spacious location and was greeted when I walked in. I told her I was there to try the new flavors and got a scoop of each. I chose not to have mix-ins because I wanted to truly try the flavors by themselves without mix-ins influences. The strawberry marshmallow was yum! Definitely marshmallow-like and the strawberry gave it a great flavor profile. The lemon cake batter was lemony, tart but not sour, and it really did feel like I was eating cake batter. I would get these flavors again. Service was good, store appeared clean, and I was the only one there--so I was in and out, in less than 5 minutes. read more

It's good ice cream but I really do like supporting local chains more. The reason I just can't give it a 5 star is the price of the mash ups. Very nice kids working there and it is consistent in flavor and quality. This is a great location on the hill and definitely better than the other chain near by! read more

On this hot summer day this was a popular place. The line was 16 deep yet the line moved fairly quick. Employees were friendly and kept things positive despite the longish lines. Tasty but a bit expensive. The service sucked rocks. So the night of 22 July and I take my visiting brother and his wife to Cold Stone Creamery, on 29th St. Very busy and a long line. 2 young ladies and 1 guy working at 8:30pm. Young blond girl helps my brother and his wife, then move on down the line. An asian/pacific looking young lady is right in front of me, shaking skoops back and forth to clean, while I stood there waiting. She doesn't look at me, saying one moment, nothing. After 3-5 minutes, sounding bothered, she asked me what I wanted. I asked for the ice cream in a waffle cone. At the register, she brings me my order in a paper cup. She looked really bothered and turned to correct the order. I insisted she just hand it over, as I had already waited and paid. Me and my party sit down to enjoy the ice cream. As the line continued on, the blonde worker had a female show up with flowers. They went to the side door, where the flowers were given, hugs exchanged, and conversation started. While customers slowly waited for the 2 remaining workers to take orders. Mistake #1: My brother got his order in a plain waffle cone, having asked for one with the chocolate rim. Mistake #2: My sister got the wrong ice cream all together in her cup. Mistake #3: I was served a cup not a waffle cone. As busy as it was, that is 3 orders, all with mistakes, between 2 of the 3 employees. Then the employee stepping aside for a personal visit. I went in today with my daughter to get a sweet treat, the two ladies working were absolutely amazing! I believe there names were Mariah and Karissa and they not only had service fast and efficient they were wonderful with the my order and were super helpful and friendly while also being patient with my daughter and I while we were still deciding. We went in today (July 12) at around 5:30pm. There were 4 people working. The guy, Wylie (sp?), had served me before and had delivered a pint that was 3/4 full. Today, when I ordered a pint of Cookie Doughn't You Want Some, he started making a cup and I reminded him I had ordered a pint. He said to me "well it's the same amount of ice cream" and proceeded to load the ice cream into a pint. It didn't fill the pint so he added additional ice cream to the top. A blond girl with a ponytail made the second pint. Another girl made two cups for us. After I paid and walked outside, my daughter was waiting inside for lids and spoons and the girl with the blond ponytail said "I rang up two pints and two cups and she didn't leave a tip." No, I did not. I don't tip for bad service and I will go elsewhere next time I want ice cream. And if a cup is the same size as a pint as Wylie said to me, then why isn't the price the same? Super long line - staff weren't cold stone friendly and the establishment was uncleanly. One of those stereotypical scenes you see in a movie with the shop that managed to employ the grumpy breakfast club high school kids (minus the music scoring). I'd say it's hard to mess up a chain ice cream shop that has a set way of doing things, but they managed to. A friend ordered a simple Vanilla ice cream with 3 toppings. The person was too lazy to mix them in and my friend ended up with little enough toppings to eat in one bite. She asked for more and they were all vastly confused. On Mother's Day the kids and I treated mom to ice cream. We got 4 Gotta have it's and the kids were heaping but ours were about an inch below the top. When we complained to the girl making them, Jocelyn, she argued saying everyone else scoops too much but she follows the guidelines. In addition, when we complained about how she made the Wonder Women Berry Bold, which is heaping and has berries on top, she said it's just a picture. We come to this location for every birthday and special event but I guess we will drive to the other locations from now on because it's not worth arguing over what is expected for what you pay for. 9/10 of times the employees are great and the service impeccable even when very busy. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. They really love mixing up ice cream and it shows. The ice cream is of course a treat and I never feel shortchanged - they don't cheap out or try to charge more for an additional topping. It's a couple dollars more per half gallon (who would buy less?!) than the grocery store but it's SO GOOD and exactly what you want. Totally worth it. read more

Not only did I enjoy a beautifully crafted "Like It" size of the "Founder's Favorite" but I also experienced superior customer service from a young scoop artist named Tony. I literally lived right near a Cold Stone Creamery in a past life, but could never bring myself to go because of the "pricey" mention from friends. The irony? I recently drove across town for ice cream from Cold Stone. Although high in price, the product is worth the cost. Why? The experience alone followed by flavor. My buddy Scott and I were craving ice cream and decided to drive from the Valley to this location. Upon arrival, we quickly chose a base menu recipe and then modified it as they were making it in front of us. Now, I highly recommend you stick to flavors and ingredients you know you will like mixed together, but creativity is welcomed as long as it remains edible, of course! The flavor of my mix was fantastic! I may be bias as an ice cream connoisseur, but the epierence will bring me to Cold Stone again. Side Notes: This location really needed to empty their trash can outside, it was practically overflowing. WARNING! The sizes are deceiving! A small size is plenty of ice cream to eat, but if you wish to take some home, by all means, order a bigger size. Cold Stone ice cream re-freezes well and keeps its flavor intact. 3 of 5 stars because of price, and cleanliness. I went to get ice cream about an hour before closing and the place was packed. I had sympathy for the three young employees who had a little more than they could handle! I ordered two fruit smoothies. They ended up being out of some of the types of fruit for the smoothie but bared with me while I made a decision on other ingredients. They sincerely apologized and gave me a coupon upon leaving and thanked me for coming in. I will be back in because no one around here has ice cream like cold stone.
