Soon after we all arrived I got up from our chosen table to order at the counter. The young female barista was making a drink and Colin saw me. Eventually I went to go sit back down because I assumed they were busy. 15 minutes later Colin came over to our table, left a menu and muttered something. Soon after that, he came back again in the middle of our meeting and muttered something again. He repeated in a very agitated tone, "You guys can hang out but you have to order something". Two of us told him we tried to order earlier, to which he replied something along the lines of "well we're wide open now". I had genuinely never seen or heard a barista act this way. I thought he's just having a bad day from the way he's walking around the shop, so I told him I'd go right up to order. Later, Colin generously brought over my toast and I said "thank you so much" and "thank you" as he tossed my napkins on the table. He did all of this in silence. Soon after, he put up a hand written sign on the door that said "We close at 1". An odd experience, to say the least

It was disappointing as well. The sausage patty was warm around the edges, but still cold in the middle, and the sandwich looked like it had simply been dropped into the to-go box without much care. Service: One staff member was handling the register, taking orders, and preparing the food, all while doing their best to keep up with customers. During that time, another employee was stocking shelves and organizing bags of coffee. From a customer's perspective, it seemed like helping with the line and food preparation would have been the higher priority. Atmosphere: This location definitely caters to a different clientele. Since it's part of the Public Market, you don't really get the traditional coffee shop experience that Anodyne is known for. We found a couple of chairs at a small table outside, which was a pleasant place to enjoy our drinks. This location just didn't live up to the experience I've had at Anodyne's other cafés. Recently, I tried the pour over (it takes more time to make) and the flavor and quality is much better if you have the time. Today, I wanted to try the Booster Bites,on-the-go energy in bite sized portions made with nuts, seeds and dried fruit. They are supporting this brand by selling this from their cart. I've found that it can sometimes be served a little cooler than I prefer. This time I asked for it extra hot, and it came out at about 130°F, which is just at the low end of what I consider acceptable for a hot latte.
