I contacted Cash's original drummer and asked if he and his lead guitarist in his band, The WS Holland Band, would play with me. They agreed and I quickly contacted Shining Light Events to help me sell tickets. Since I was both performer and promoter, I had a lot on my shoulders, the high costs of bringing in these to artists aside, what if we didn't sell enough tickets, what if I don't get the word out, what if I spend too much money on advertising and it all is a bust? This was either going to be a great show or the best "party" I have ever put on for myself and my family. Michael at Shining Light Events assured me we would sell out the show. I wasn't so sure, but I trusted him because I have used his site to buy tickets to local events and have witnessed first hand these events selling out. Michael and I talked quite a bit, he was always available to speak to me and offer his assurance that things are going smoothly. Two months out and we weren't sold out. In fact, the room would have had an echo with the number of tickets we sold. He told me not to worry, he was planning a promotion for my event. Well, we went from having an echo in the room to having to SHUTDOWN the ticket sales because we were now standing room only! We sold out about a month (ONE MONTH) before the show, not to mention we had a waiting list of 60+ people on the list (which equates to about 100 additional bodies). If you have an event where you are selling tickets, do yourself a favor and let Shining Light Events handle the ticket sales and promotion. It will be one more thing that you will NOT have to worry about, trust me. He Wore Black was a huge success!!! So much so that I couldn't even let Michael buy tickets to it because we were really SOLD-OUT! And thanks to that success we are getting more and more bookings for the show. So, do you have a BHAG?
