One of my favorite places for breakfast anywhere. The whole wheat cinnamon rolls are amazing. Cozy atmosphere though it can be a bit jumbled and packed together when it's busy. Super friendly, small town service. The place is just down the road from Fort Lewis which makes it extremely popular on weekend mornings. Get there early to avoid the wait. read more

Thanks to Yelp we had breakfast here in this trip to wonderful Durango. We were not disappointed. There was a 20 min wait, but it was Sunday morning - we expected that. The food more than compensated for the wait. I had eggs Benedict, with perfectly runny eggs as I requested. We also had the chorizo scramble, and French toast. The biscuit was INCREDIBLE. Love the CDC It is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot! They use local meats and veggies in some of their dishes and the service is always the best! This was perfect. Fast service, super fast delivery of food. The coffee was yummy as were the omelettes and biscuits. I also had some of my son's cinnamon roll, totally worth it. This place was recommended by just about every local we asked where to go for breakfast. And when you go in you can tell it is a local favorite... it was a 20 minute wait. I got the biscuits and gravy and a pancake that ended up being the size of the moon. Everything was pretty good, no complaints. College Drive Cafe offers a pretty decent breakfast menu offering everyting from omlets, egg scrambles, eggs benidect and pancakes. I came here looking for a hearty breakfast before heading on a road trip back home and when I arrived here on a Sunday morning the place was packed and you can tell this is the kind of place all the locals come to. Anyways the portions were pretty big and the food was overall pretty decent. I wasn't a fan of their red or green chile but the omlet and fried potatoes were really good here. They were packed when we walked in but after writing our name on the pad of paper on the wall it didn't take to long to get seated. I had the biscuits and gravy and they were amazing! I like to judge a place by their biscuits and gravy and this place rocked. Service was fast and they made sure our glasses were full. Tried this place on an overnight stay in Durango. Meh. I got the Anasazi Benedict. The green chilies appeared to be from a can and I had to keep picking green chili skin out of my mouth. The hollandaise sauce just didn't have the zing and mouthfeel of a GOOD hollandaise. I gave up about 1/3 through my breakfast and just drank my coffee. My husband got an omelet with a lot of fresh veggies and said it really did taste freah. The zucchini was tendrr-crisp. He enjoyed it. Maybe I should have picked something else. read more

Wow! My family and I stayed the night in Durango en-route to Arizona, and found this place for breakfast. This was the best breakfast I've ever had. First, I have to say that this place is small and they are busy, so if you cant even find a spot to park... then be prepared to wait, possibly a while. We did wait for quite some time, but I thought that the food was well worth the wait. I had some sort of ham and egg scramble covered in cheese with home fries and wheat toast on the side. The ham and cheese scramble was delicious and so were the potatoes!! Everything had a great flavor and was really enjoyable. Portion sizes were pretty darn big too. My one and only complaint about the food was that my wheat toast could barely be considered toast. It couldn't have been in the toaster for more than 30 seconds. They did have bottles of locally made fresh honey (I forget the name) on the table, and let me tell you it was amazing on that toast/bread. Service was just ok and I was a little put off when we first came in and the lady behind the counter said "put your name on the list" then turned around. Considering that were were from out of town and had never been there before we had no clue what she was talking about. Finally she turned back around and saw us standing there looking confused and then pointed to a clipboard hanging on the wall behind us where we were to put our name and party size. Once we were seated, it took a long time to see a waitress and even longer to get our food, the waitress was friendly however. Service wasnt great, but the food was delicious and who knows, maybe they were just having an off day. If I lived in Durango I'd certainly go back again. read more
