Solid neighborhood coffee shop. I do not get over to this side of town very often, but this could be my regular joint. Unlike a lot of other ships and cafes in town, this one is pretty quiet. There is also a drive through. My latte was pretty well-done. The drip coffee is ok too. Nothing will really blow your socks off, but this joint is cozy and friendly. Happy travels! read more

I stayed in an Airbnb on the hill behind this little spot for 2 weeks in Oct, so I popped in here a few times during my stay. All the staff were very friendly, from the people behind the counter to the guys in the kitchen. Two thumbs up with the staff & service! Food/Drinks: Danishes were my fave! - I had both the apple and the berry w/ cream cheese (can't recall if it was strawberry or cherry). Delish! Especially warmed up a bit. Buy several. Trust me. Biscuits & Gravy and croissant breakfast sandwich - Both were basic, but tasty. The full order of Biscuits & gravy was huge. It was enough for me to eat 2 mornings. Warmed up well. Blueberry muffin & brownie: A little dry, but great flavor & plenty big. Rice Krispy Treat - Again, big. But hard as a rock. It tasted fine though & I ate it all (midnight munchies got me). Fru-fru flavored specialty latte - I can't recall which one it was, but it was so yummy. The gentleman behind the counter recommended it & it was a winner. Iced Coffee - Bitter. Might have just been an off or slightly old batch. I'm an iced coffee/cold brew addict, so I'm kinda picky. Giving 5 stars bc the good outweighed the meh. Other than the spectacular views and beautiful scenery, Durango has amazing coffee. I like this place because you can run in grab a cappuccino, a peanut butter cookie, and a breakfast burrito and you are set for the day. The breakfast burrito could have been a little bit more spicy for me but next time I'll order it with some hot sauce. This was the worst lunch I've had in a long time. First I ordered a chicken salad sandwich, which they didn't have, so I got a turkey bacon avocado sandwich, and a Philly steak sandwich. It was over 30$! They served my order with no cheese, which I specifically requested, there was no avacado on the turkey bacon avocado sandwich, no bread . And the Philly was tough, frisky, not even warm, and the man that eats ANY THING! Would not eat more than two bites, claiming it to be gross, tough, and just not tasty in any way. I had to repeat my order to them multiple times, I came from out of town, picked up food, took it with me, got down the road, then realized we got ripped off. If I'd been closer I would have taken it back and demanded a refund! Do not waste ur time or money, so not worth it read more

What a gem of a little place! Most people won't find Upper East Side as it is not in town. It is, however, on the way to the airport located next to a small gas station. We originally stopped here to grab coffee. But Upper East Side has much more to offer than that: 1. DELICIOUS breakfast tacos and burritos with excellent salsa 2. This is my go to place for a quick and tasty lunch. I usually opt for one of the sandwiches they have available in either small or large. Usually a small on ciabatta of any of the sandwiches is enough to fill you up, and usually what I grab. My frequently eaten picks are the Southwest Club and Super Supreme. They both have this green chili ranch dressing that's out of this world and adds a ton of flavor. Prices are reasonable, and you can walk out with a sandwich, drink, and chips for under $10. I have to agree that service has been a hit or miss in the past, but the last few visits were friendly and quick. The staff are typical Durangoian's and very chill, which can be a problem to some, but I have no problem with it. The place is a bit small on the inside and you might have to sit with a stranger, but it's a good way to meet new people. All the pastries and other baked goods have been very good. Yes, some of the stuff is on the sweet side, but I have a huge sweet tooth. I've only had their coffee once and it was a good cup of brew. Come by around lunch to get some cheap leftover breakfast burritos. At half off they are a much better deal and really good burritos. TL; DR: it's an awesome little side of the road sandwich/coffee/bakery place that I go to at least twice a week and so should you. Great for either breakfast for lunch. read more

When I want a slice of the best apple pie in the world for breakfast, I go to the Upper East Side! This tiny place has an assortment of other delicious baked goods and typical sugary-but-yummy coffee drinks, as well as darn good brewed coffee. And their breakfast sandwiches are awesome! E and I rarely remember this place exists thanks to the fact that it lives way out by the hospital, but I always enjoy their breakfast sandwiches on fresh-baked biscuits when we manage to get out there. I have home to this place a number of times after the 1 pm hour and the food is good. The staff isn't great but ok today, we planned to meet for a sandwich and got there at 1:45 pm and I was told they had already started cleaning and were closed for food except a muffin . The stated hours are until 2 pm. It's not ok to advertise hours and then decide to close eaRly for no reason! I won't be planning on stopping by for my sandwich any more. read more

Good coffee and breakfast burritos... but be warned the burritos are waaay small, expensive, and has processed cheese in them. That still does not deter me from having one every so often. It's a savory treat, albeit not a complete meal. The pastries are questionably made on premises. They have all the consistency of premade, frozen Pilsbury dough, are sickeningly sweet (REALLY sweet). Customer service is hit or miss. There have been some very attentive and sweet ladies working there and a nice Rastafarian in the kitchen, but there are a handful of others that can make the experience less than comfortable with their snarkiness. read more

Sad to say, I did not enjoy my experience AT ALL. In the past I truly have enjoyed all of the Upper East Side Coffee treats and services. However, this morning I did not find the yummy soft sweet and savor treats I remembered. The display case looked like it was 2pm in the afternoon. I checked my watch and it was 7:40am! I did however choose three items from the meek selection and well, disappointment is all I can say. The scone had the texture of a burnt muffin top, the coffee cake was flat and doughy, and the cream cheese filled pastry was smaller then it has been in the past. The service was fine, just fine. Cute little cafe that has a couple good breakfast options. I enjoy their coffee. I like their food but they put salsa in practically everything on the menu, and it tastes like canned Pace salsa to me- which I really don't care for. They have some nice baked goods to choose from as well, but it's typically not my first choice when eating breakfast. It's a nice little place for a quick bite, though it is not my favorite. Can't say I'd rather eat at a Dennys though, so that's a plus. read more

Tried to order Burritos for a company breakfast. Was told they charge additional 15% for large orders. What kind of FU business model is that. I'm tempted to have everyone go in and pay for each order individually so they have to pay the credit card fee each time. I called Machos and they offered me a discount for a large order. Good luck. I have been a customer for ten plus years. Their food and coffee are great. Their service recently has gone way down hill. I have stood at the counter several times waiting for service. Today I'd had enough. I went back to the kitchen where two women were looking their phones. I told them apparently their phones were more important than their customers and left. read more

I love their lunch sandwiches and pastries/deserts! I don't eat their egg products as they are microwaved egg substitute frankenfood. Customer service? What a joke. If you want a sandwich, I suggest talking directly to the cooks, NOT the cashiers. The female owner who runs this deli should not be in ANY customer service industry.
