While I see that the drivers are very good, the Grover Beach dispatcher sure was not. We were stuck in sand on the town side of the Pismo State Beach parking lot. She insisted that we had to be ON the beach if we were in sand, and could not understand where the Oceano Pier Street was. After spending an amazing weekend at the KOA, our 4Runner wouldn't start. AAA sent a truck with 2 kids to come out and jump our battery. They were unable to jump our battery and told us we would need a tow because it sounded like the starter. AAA then sent College towing and Delmer showed up. He asked what's going on? We updated him, he said " did two kids in a truck show up?" We said "Yup" he then shook his head and proceeded to jump start our car. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Olivia, dispatch, is extremely rude on the phone. We waited twice as long for the tow truck. When called to ask ETA she got ruder and stated they were dispatched to accidents then she hung up on me after interrupting me to speak over me. I called back and she lied stating we had already asked for a call to let us know when they would arrive. She got cocky when I asked if the line was recorded. She said, "I CAN record it!" So I asked for her bosses name. She said, "Go ahead and call him. His name is Brian and my names Olivia." OLIVIA NEEDS A NEW JOB! We're pretty sure that the employees working just didn't care because the tow truck driver was just as rude. He couldn't say hello back to us, opened the door and just walked away back to the tow truck. Well Olivia, AAA has been notified of your horrible attitude and service you provide. Flat tire on Coyote Canyon and Righetti Road called AAA for tow to Arroyo Grande. Driver came to our location snd spent 40 minutes talking to dispatch (we could have been loaded and 1/2 way to AG during this back and forth with the driver and their incompetent dispatch) said he could not take us because AG is out of the city of SLO?! Um what? After 45 minutes of sitting with the tow truck that couldn't tow us, College Towing said call back AAA and start over. College Towing couldn't be bothered to locate another tow driver for us. Terrible service. Driver left us there. read more

I'm overdue for thanking Scotty of College Towing (Arroyo Grande) for his Gold Star Performance last fall. He quite literally saved me from a dark and abandoned parking lot when my car would not start. After waiting for a battery guy who never showed - College Towing saved the day - by sending Scotty for a tow. He also determined that my problem was not just a batter - but probably my alternator. A large owl hit our car while southbound on 101 near Arroyo Grande before 7:00 am Sunday morning. The left fender was badly damaged and rubbing the tire, so we needed a tow home. We called AAA and they dispatched Scotty with College Towing. He arrived in under an hour (and that is good for an early Sunday call-out!). He made sure we were okay and then watched for oncoming traffic so we could safely exit the vehicle (parked on the 101 shoulder). He quickly (and safely!) got our car on the flatbed. Scotty was friendly, personable, and efficient. We were back home quickly, and he was careful in offloading our car so no more damage was done. I called my AAA agent for a tow, they sent College Towing. When the tow truck driver came he saw what I had already stated, my car was parked up an incline in my carport space with two flat tires. He proceeded to hook my car up and without putting it in drive or neutral or doing anything to even attempt to jump the car since the battery was dead, he just pulled basically dragged my car out and now my car has been throwing off all kinds of sensors from broken traction control and ABS to my check engine light being on. My car is a 2006 Chevy Impala LTZ. Fully loaded. So it has wheel sensors which I believe he broke by dragging my car instead of doing what he should to be able to put it in neutral. If you get AAA or any insurance and they want to use College, SAY NO! They are AWFUL! Oh and in dragging my car he scrapped the whole under side and "can opened"a under part of my fender! Of course they deny any of this and I have gone to them and stated this and the man looked at me like yah ok whatever lady, what do you know about cars! A sad but VERY frequent attitude I come across in the auto mechanics industry. So now I need a whole new fender AND no one can fix my car which everyday is pissed at me when I have to drive it since I'm a single mom on a very fixed income after coming out of a DV relationship. College Towing owes me compensation and they have a contract with AAA so I KNOW they make PLENTY! Court case, I say so. Just stay away from College Towing. Mainly the driver in this case was the problem but now the man at their shop was condescending and hasn't even called back with any concern. Yesterday I had a different service come out and it was a bad experience. I have had College Towing help me in the past and they have always been good so I requested them. They responded to my college student daughter who got a flat tire on 101 south near Pismo beach at 5 am. Wouldn't take her to a local tire shop. Instead, insisted on towing her home in to Santa Barbara. $375 later. The driver stopped twice on the way. Once for coffee and once to change trucks. The driver was extremely vulgar during the whole experience and didn't provide a receipt. I called to complain and ask for a receipt. I was told by the supervisor (John ) that they actually undercharged us. The bill should have been more like $800. Total ignored my question of why was it towed the whole way to Santa Barbara in the first place. I believe there name fits them will. College Towing was recommend to me by the service station I had my car towed to, Trans-King in AG. The phone staff was friendly and informative, able to quote me a very fair price for the tow (which matched the final price). The truck arrived promptly. and the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even checked under the hood after adding gas, to rule out empty tank syndrome. After I followed the truck back to the service station, I realized I did not have my credit card in my wallet. The driver arranged for the tow costs to be added to my service costs at Trans-King, saving me the hassle of going to track down cash. Wow! Who does that? Needing a tow is always a frightening prospect. The folks at College made this experience far less painful with their prompt, helpful service. Wow! Michael just towed my broken down Intrepid to my apartment building. He went above & beyond. The tow truck arrived faster than expected. It's a hot day so the driver, Michael, told me I could wait in his air-conditioned truck. He got me & my car back to my apartment building very quickly. I am a very dissatisfied customer. From the moment the driver showed up, he did not say one word to me. He had a poor attitude from the onset. He made sure that my need of a tow was my problem as he stated that my truck was modified and he would not tow it. However, I waited 45 after contacting AAA road service for the second time, requesting a tow. The tow truck driver stated that I should call someone else and left. I did contact Johnboy's Towing (Mike Filice) and he arrived within 20 minutes and towed my truck without any issues to requested location. Wonderful service from Johnboy's Towing. these people are horrible, originally pretended to be nice on the phone, was pretty nice and answered questions to a full extent and then after asking a few questions, it seems like he was tired of me asking questions and decided to be very rude in a sarcastic manner, and just kept getting worse and worse, and started getting brutally rude and outspoken about normal questions any person would ask if there car was towed and had no idea what happened. They treated me and my car very badly i eventually found out when it was in there possession. They also have very bad intentions i heard a secret conversation with two employees that didn't know i could hear them in the lot.
