This is one of my parents' favorite spots to go for dinner/drinks when I'm home visiting. I'm not surprised since most of their clientele seem to be neighborhood parents, a lot of whom are likely regulars. I think the restaurant itself is very cool, it's a huge space with a lot seating options depending on the atmosphere you're looking for. They have a dining room, a bar room with seating options and a large outdoor patio area that often has live music on the weekends. It always seems to be pretty crowded no matter what time we've gone there, and we always seem to run into someone we know from the surrounding neighborhood which is nice. The last couple times we've gone, the service was pretty bad. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time, forget things that we requested and generally avoid conversation overall. We had the same waitress for our last two visits and she seemed to always look overwhelmed even when it really wasn't that crowded. She almost made us feel like an inconvenience, although she wasn't rude or anything. The food is decent, I've tried pizza, pasta and sandwiches, all of which weren't anything impressive. Although, I absolutely love their complimentary bread! Overall, it's a solid neighborhood spot with a lively atmosphere but underwhelming food. They've been around for a very long time and definitely have a very particular regular crowd of local parents and retirees that will keep them busy for a long time to come! read more

Stopped in for lunch while visiting from Texas. Started with a basket of wonderful sourdough bread fresh from the oven. Ordered the soup (tortilla cheese) and half of a corned beef sandwich. The soup was excellent and the sandwich was stacked high with plenty of tasty corned beef. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and the cheese ravioli. She was very pleased with both. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a cold and gray Chicago afternoon. The service was excellent with a friendly staff. Honestly, I go to Colletti's often and the food is absolutely fabulous! Their pizza is the best so if you love thin, crispy crust, look no further! We drive in from the NW suburbs. The shrimp de jonghe is to die for and they have a most extensive wine list. Everything is just so yummy and I'm actually finding myself there at least once a week; addicting! Tho there's plenty of parking, it's often hard to find a spot in the lot because it gets quite crowded Friday thru Sunday night so I often park across the street in the residential area, no problem! The Blackhawks' game is always on and with all the TV's, you're sure to never miss your favorite team! We went to Colletti's for Mother's Day. The service was awful - it took over an hour to get our appetizers, and then the waitress disappeared for awhile so we couldn't even put entree orders in for another half hour. I ordered the veal with mushrooms, and my first bite of veal had a jagged piece of hard plastic in it. This restaurant used to be very good - now it is terrible. Our family stuck through dinner but several others walked out due to rude employees, poor service, and contaminated food. Don't order the veal! read more

I have ordered for delivery and always been satisfied with the food. I especially love the chopped salad, But had a very bad experience recently when I dined in with my husband. I ordered something on the special menu, it was a while ago, so I don't quite remember what they called it, but it was beef served with mushrooms and a type of gravy, served with a veggie (cold and soggy by the way) l asked for my meat to be done MR it came sooooooooooo well done---which I can deal with, and l was hungry, so I ate it, and never complained! But the worse thing was----was that it was tough as shoe leather! We went there on New Year's Eve 2013. Never been there before. Obviously it was jammed in the bar and side area. The 4 food stations were all over the place. Nothing made sense. You had to work your way through crowded tables to get food. The food was ok-all the food should have been in one area. My suggestion---maybe use the big room in the back. Onion soup has nothing to do with onion soup .. salads were good but spicy deep fried shrimps were just horrible .. we ordered 2 portions ,tasted,didn't eat it, complained , got credit for only one . I've been eating at Colletti's Restaurant for about 25 years and there is no better Italian Restaurant in the city. The atmosphere is there for everyone. If you like the outdoors, they have just put in a patio, if you like a more livelier time, the bar area has been remodeled and sometimes there is entertainment, and the restaurant area is cozy. The service is very good. The food is outstanding and I nor anyone in my family has ever had a bad meal. We go there for special occasions and just to have a good meal. The parking is ample. The neighborhood is very good and safe. I bring friends and family to Colletti's for special occasions. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant. read more

Came in here on Tuesday night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We ate in the new dining room with a huge fireplace which was beautiful. I ordered the turkey club and my boyfriend had the Chicken Salad. Service was super quick and the owners stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying the meal. Also enjoyed the Kendall Jackson wine, they have a special where you get $10 off the bottle on Tuesday! I would highly recommend the KJ Sauvignon Blanc! Also noticed they have a huge patio! I hadn't been here in a while and went yesterday because of the nice weather and wanted a place I could eat outside. I was really impressed with the changes they have made and the addition of the outdoor patio (nicest in the area). The menu had also updated quite bit from my last visit several years ago. The fish tacos were amazing along with the Eggplant Parmesan. The service was great and our waitress was very pleasant and offered up great suggestions. All and all the experience was great and glad I thought to check out the patio, they did a good job of reinventing themselves. We will be back. read more

Our family has held many parties at Colletti's over the years and we cannot say enough great things about the establishment. For starters, hands down the best baked clams in the country! Bold statement I know, but please trust me when I say they are amazing. Every dish is prepared with a fresh touch. Nothing about the cuisine is generic or pre-made. The atmosphere is fun and entertaining. The staff is friendly and one of the owners is almost always around overseeing the operation to make sure everything is ran smoothly. I recently went to Colletti's dining for dinner. I would have to say that the food was superb. I went with my family to enjoy a weekend meal, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The service was stout, and the food was delicious. After dinner my family and I stopped at the bar for a after dinner cocktail. The bartender was a veteran of the Colletti's restaurant and served us with the up most respect. Overall the service, food, bar staff, and atmosphere was more than pleasant. read more

We placed an order through Grubhub, not only the food took 2 hours to arrive but they messed up our orders. We paid over $12 for salads that were more lettuce than anything. They screwed up my bosses food order as well, it was a total ripped off! When one of our managers called to complain, the restaurant manager was very ignorant about handling this situation. We own a company with over 200 employees, if they would've taken care of us, we would've consider them for our lunch orders or corporate parties. Doing good business means taking care of your clients, regardless of their orders. They don't have any client or management skills, SO NO more than ONE STAR for them!!!! read more

Service was fantastic, very fast, and the food was served hot and fresh. The chili is spicy, but very good. The pizza, the main course, is the best dish on the menu. Called thursday to make reservations for ronnie rice, talked to the owner and made reservation for 6, he stated,"You know I have Ronnie to come here, he's not cheap, so I hope you do more than drinks", replied don't worry we have a good group, he also sated "i got a few good tables left", called back an hour later and added two more people, mentioned to the reception person this is for ronnie rice, she said don't worry your reservation is already in the book. Well we get there were not even seated in the ronnie rice room, in fact they could not seat us any further away, we didn't even hear him! Spoke to front desk, no problem , the manger will talk to you, NOTHING , never came by, so either the owner lied or they made a mistake, the fact that the manager never came back, just shows how what kind of non caring people run the place, I will never go back, so disgusted with the owner and manager on how they treat customers, i will take my business elsewhere, where they appreciate paying customers Oh, the food, OK/average fairly priced, customer service died tonight, BTW, Mr Owner $240 tab for 6, happy? DON'T GO THERE! I have gone to Colletti's several times, due to local convenience, and some decent Italian food. However, recently the service and the owners are ridiculous. Highlights.. #1. I catered a lasagna and asked for meat and spinach, but was told I could only get meat OR Spinach. So, I ordered meat, and I got CHEESE--nothing in it! When I called to complain, Bob Colletti's response was, "But was the lasagna good??" He had no apologies, nothing about how he screwed up the order, but just kept insisting that I got a good lasagna. #2. We catered chicken and beef once, and the chicken was dry and cold, even though my husband waited 20 minutes for it. #3. And our last venture there was the Ribfest. My husband ordered ribs and they were dry. We were told that no one else had complained that day, so they must not have been! WHAT??!! We will never go there again... Seriously, don't go there! There are other local Italian restaurants that are better. read more

LONG time customer here. Recently went to Colletti's for dinner and had an upsetting experience with the owner himself. In fact, quite shocked and almost left to go somewhere else for dinner. (which we should have done now reflecting) As always, when we walk in, we always ask for our favorite server. Never have we had any problems with this request. When we asked for our server, we were told we had to sit outside or in the bar area. We did not want to sit outside or in the bar area for personal preferences. We just wanted to sit inside and relax to what we felt was comforting to us. We were flat out told we had to sit outside or sit in the bar area. We got up out of seats and moved to the outside and quite frustrated and confused at this demand in order to have our server. I personally told our server to tell the owner we were thinking about leaving and also writing a letter to the establishment to express our displeasure of this. Basically the Owner, R. Colletti said he didn't care if we left or not. After hearing this, we were furious. Our ONLY reason for staying was because of our server. I cannot believe that a business owner would treat GOOD customers this way. I'd understand this decision of siting outside or at the bar area if the place was packed. There were very few patrons in at this time which tells me there is no excuse for R. Colletti to NOT accommodate a request that was not unreasonable. NEVER have we ever felt so belittled and like we didn't matter. In the very near future we as a family were going to have a family party / function at Colletti's. Not now....not ever. This is sad because the staff are friendly and very helpful. In fact, the hostess couldn't have apologized any more for our inconvenience. Our one and only reason for ever going back would be because of our server. As long as this server continues to be employed here, we will go every so often. Not even close to what we used to which was about 2 times a week at least. Colletti's lost good customers because of the arrogance and flat out rudeness. There are plenty of other Italian Restaurants around and to where we are treated with respect that we will be frequenting more often. NEVER have we ever been treated so poorly before. Any other place we have been to, we have been treated like family. Colletti's gets an F. from us. Not that any of this matters to R. Colletti. I heard of Colletti's cuz I'm a kids from the neighborhood.... and people say great things about the pizza... so we go there on a Saturday night around 6:30 the waitress was not a very friendly person I'm there with my wife and my two sons my wife ordered the turkey salad my son ordered a cheeseburger my youngest son orders the award-winning ribs and I ordered the prime rib after sitting there for a half hour she comes back and tells me that they're out a prime rib I asked him how can you be out of prime if its only 6 o'clock so mr. Coletti comes over tells me I'll find you a piece of rib..... well the food comes out my son's cheeseburger looks like it all Frozen.. frozen patty the fries were right out of a bag he only ate half of his cheeseburger... and as far as these award-winning ribs just not enough sweet baby Ray in the world to make them award-winning.... Denver my wife salad the turkey with lunch meat,,,, everything in this guy's restaurant is bought Frozen from Restaurant Depot... and for the prime rib it was horrible..... only ate half of it took the other half home to feed the dog the dog wouldn't even eat it and that's not saying much because I seen this dog eat his own poop ...I'm not one to bash a restaurant.... but mr. Coletti needs to rethink his whole menu because it's horrible... if the only thing he knows how to do well as pizza then stick with Pizza...p.s... also have to mention this my son orders a third glass of soda and the way just tell them that he's got to be charged for an extra glass of soda you get one glass and one refill for 2:50.... I ate here a month ago..Had the ribs ,,garbage..Tasted like they were boiled instead of broiled..But Against better judgment..I went back. Thinking I will give it a shot for its Italian side or other options...This was the worst meal I had all year. The service was slow as hell. The salad dressing tasted like some bad Italian processed version from a gallon jar they bought at Aldies, or they got the left overs from my high shool cafeteria. (That dressing in high school was so bad. I still remember it. And now Collettis has it..) Is it so hard for an Italian restaurant to make some good dressing?? I had the Lobster and steak that was on special. Sure it was moderately priced. And I expected a small portion for that price. But the lobster was as hard as a rock. I would of rather ate the shell. And the steak that I ordered well done was raw. Hard not to be able to cook such a small thin steak but it was not cooked. My side of pasta was penne. It was not cooked either. Hard actually. I can not remember ever getting raw pasta in a restaurant. And the person with me had uncooked broccoli and carrots also. Their mashed potatoes looked and tasted like the fake ones from Kentucky fried chicken Hard as a rock. Seriously a very bad experience. If they gave me the food for free. I would not go back there..So bad,,that I only write like one review a year on here. And only do it when the place is just so bad I have to share. How they stay in business is beyond me.. read more

We had our 50th Wedding Anniversary party last Saturday at Colletti's. This is a family owned restaurant and they treat you like family. Everyone we dealt with was extremely accommodating. There were a number of last minute changes and additions and they took care of them all with a smile and graciousness. Our main server and "go to" girl was Suzanne and was assisted by Maria. They were wonderful, efficient, caring, helpful and flexible with our changes. I can't say enough about their service. They are a true credit to Colletti's staff. The food was delicious. We received so many accolades from our guests for everything from the appetizers to the main meal, sides, salads and dessert. The beef was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The chicken parmesan was tender, tasty and moist. We had 9 children attend so we ordered extra pizzas in case they didn't want to eat the main meal. They ate both and they loved the pizza. Some of the adults tried the pizza and were crazy about it. The alcohol drinks were also excellent. They also included a special surprise when we cut our anniversary cake which delighted the children. They did their very best to make this the memorable occasion it was. I have never been so disgusted and appauled at how my date and I were treated at this place. From the moment we walked it we were rudely handled by the hostess. From there we had a waitress who would continuously disappear for 10 minutes at a time (she had 3 tables only). Our food was over cooked and lacked any taste. When I asked for the steak to be redone I recieved and attitude, and when the rest of my food was subpar the manager and owner came over and treated us as if we were crazy. The so called "award winning" ribs were extremely bland. The owner stated that the ribs were fine (without ever once tasting them) and went on and on about "people write articles about our ribs, blah blah". Just because they write about them or they are award winning doesn't mean the guy in the kitchen didnt cook them wrong. I have never been so upset in my life in terms of a dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who seeks quality food and great service. I have had better service at fast food chains. read more
