Everyone was courteous and polite and I even got recommendations on what work I would need to have done but nothing needed to be done that day. Patience Grasshopper. I have been up and down with my attitude towards waiting in lines over the years. Not so much lately. Ive embraced the line. Plus, I love people watching, and where better than a line containing a cross-section of our society. I've been(with the exception of one year) registering my automobile in person for most of my life. Note: you can make an appointment to avoid a wait (I didn't know that). I needed a new Auto Registration sticker & replacement license plates. I dreaded having to go here. But it was easy to find just off I-75, and with the kiosk check-in, and short wait, this was a breeze! The lady that helped me could not have been nicer. The woman that "helped" me at the vehicle registration office was beyond rude. Didn't make eye contact, mumbled, made sure I knew I was wasting her time. I was there for a total of 10 minutes and it was a terrible experience. Left because they couldn't do what I needed (my own fault, that's okay) and I hope I don't have to come back. They've got a new system in place where an attendant asks you what you're there for and gives you a number generated by a kiosk. Unfortunately, there's no signage or anything that communicates this new process so if you walk right past her into the waiting area, she won't stop you. This new process seems to have slowed down some tasks a bit. Usually if you're there for title stuff or other uncommon tasks, you're in and out in under 10mins. Now, every window assists everyone so you just have to hope your number's called in a reasonable time. Outside of the new process, the staff (minus the lady at the kiosk) is friendly and efficient. I appreciate that they show up and get folks out as quickly as possible. One thing I'd request is they automate the doors. I've had to go there on crutches and almost ate it trying to open the doors because they're heavy and try to slam shut on you. There's no handicap button or someone to assist you. I mean, I went there for a temporary handicap placard, not the desire to leave more handicapped than I arrived. If you're not able-bodied, be careful. read more

This was a piece of cake today! I wish everything regarding taxes and registrations ran this smoothly. It's the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday. No lines. I am stoked! How can this be. A government run business and these employees actually have smiles on their faces! Get this, they're not grumpy! My car registration and inspection was out by a few months because of a car wreck. My car was exposed to the elements of Texas while insurance got ironed out with Crappy Service King. I'm so fortunate I made it this far. Was not sure if I would ever have the chance to pay for tags and also have it inspected after the crap Service King in Plano pulled on me. After the minor repairs to my car were made, I have a new updated Texas One step sticker! It expires 7/2018 which is fine with me. Just grateful to have my car back. Beware of the woman who sits on the renew registration side. As soon as you walk in, the long row of windows right in front of you, (not the ones on the left side just to be clear), and all the way on the left. Black woman, hair pulled back. Rude! I went in yesterday to renew my registration and she barked at me to sit down because she couldn't hear me through my mask, so I spoke up for her. At the end of the transaction, she just handed my my paperwork so I asked if we were done, she nodded and hummed, "mmhmm". So I told her, "oh, well you have a good day as well!". She rolled her eyes and that was it. People! I don't care how much you hate your job, when you're working customer service you need to leave your nasty attitude at home or find a new gig. read more

This place is super clean, neat and organized. When I went, not a long line. Everyone is knowledgeable about what to file and how to go about doing it. Everything here is brand new!! I drove from the downtown Dallas county tax office to McKinney just to file a DBA! Worth the 40 minute drive. Was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Downtown was a nightmare. There is plenty of parking at this county tax office in McKinney and its free! Everyone greets you from the second you walk in to the moment you leave! Went here to register my vehicles after recently relocating from CA to TX. This place is a lot slower than the CA DMV. The line for out of state transfers was short thank goodness. I was in and out of here in about half an hour. They give you your actual license plates on the spot unlike CA where they mail them to you. If you use a credit or debit card they do charge a 3% fee. The workers here are nice but tend to move at a snail's pace. Nothing they do is urgent as they tend to take their sweet 'ol time. This courthouse is beautiful and clean with ample parking. I had to renew my vehicle in person and I was expecting to have to take a ticket and wait. There were several other people there but they were fully staffed with lots of windows open so no wait lines. The girls at that assisted me were very helpful and friendly. Just had my hearing and disagree. The CCAD used comps from a neighborhood a half mile away from my neighborhood because all the homes in my neighborhood are larger than my home. Homes in my neighborhood go for $122 to $144 a square foot. My house was appraised at $155/sq. ft, based on comps on homes the same size from another neighborhood a half mile down the road. So, I now have the smallest house in the neighborhood and have to pay more than anyone else in my neighborhood because of the way the appraiser did them comps. I am livid. Thank you CCAD for pricing the middle class right out of Frisco Texas. Oh, and let me add there was no diversity in the hear panel...all old white guys and a very ild white woman. read more
