Quick and easy service. It's a single station and employee so if the line is long, you may need to wait about 10-20 min per car. Suggest going on a mid-weekday afternoon well after lunch or well before rush-hour, or try to be there in the morning to line up before they open. I go here every year, and every person I've interacted with has been pleasant to deal with and helpful. I have not passed first inspection a couple of times due to minor issues needing attention and they told me what I needed to do so solve the issue, gave me time to solve it and come back for a free secondary inspection. Be sure that you have documentation on the type of engine your car has before going here. This place has done a good job of inspecting my cars in the past. However I had the hood replaced since the last inspection and the hood note providing the engine type was not there. I didn't have my car manual with me to tell him what type of 4 cylinder engine it has so he refused to inspect it. Googling showed the possible types but he said he does not trust that. I even showed him the inspection paper from their last inspection, but it showed a 6 cylinder car. He said they made a mistake back then. read more

I've been doing my Texas State Inspections here over the past 5 years. I love this place! The staff has always been very friendly, quick and efficient. After pulling your vehicle into the bay, the technician will have you get out of the vehicle while he conducts his inspection. Once the inspection is complete, the technician will print and hand you an inspection report. You pay him and you're on your way. The whole process usually takes between 10-15 minutes. It's very fast in/out. They also have seating for you in the waiting area, or if you prefer you can sit in the Bay area while he is doing the inspection. I came to this place twice because my car failed the first time due to having recently being serviced and not enough miles driven to activate the sensors. The first time I came was around 4:00pm and there were 5 cars in line. After one car went in, the inspector (I don't know his name, but he wears black aviators) came out and hung a sign that said he would be back in 40 minutes. He then proceeded to just walk around the building listlessly until the time came for him to return. The second time I came, there were 2 cars ahead of me around 4:00pm. No cars went in and the same guy with the black aviator sunglasses came out and hung a sign saying he would be back at 5:50pm! This guy obviously doesn't want to work and if I was the owner of this business, I would've fired him years ago for losing me so much business. If you HAVE to come here, come Wednesday-Saturday when the other guy who works there is there. He is wonderful and went out of his way to get my re-inspection done in a timely manner. read more

It was so easy to drive up to this car inspection station!! It was tucked behind a gas station but there was clear signage that I could quickly figure out. When I arrived, there was a car getting inspected and I only waited about 10 minutes which was a lot shorter than other places I had called ahead and asked about wait times. When it was my turn, the gentleman waved me in and asked me to exit the vehicle. He did his thing while I waited in the corner with a fan. About 10 minutes later, I had my passing registration papers and was on my merry way. He even gave me a $5 discount!! He keeps a tip jar for cash tips by the register so make sure to bring a little something for his quick and efficient services. No push to change your oil, your windshield wipers, or some other repair to your vehicle. Like seriously, who enjoys the vehicle registration process? No one! However, this place makes it a lot more tolerable. This is my 2nd visit in less than 90 days. The first time I went during my lunch hour. Today's visit was after work during rush hour. Each time there was no wait and my vehicle was inspected immediately. I was literally in and out in less 20 minutes! The cost was $20! Well, make that $20 and some change...there's a $.50 credit card processing fee. Still a good deal! I actually heard about this place from a guy at the Honda dealer after Honda said they couldn't get my inspection done that day even though it was around 10 am. Sure enough, I show up at Rapid and there's one guy in front of me. I'm in and out super quick. Now, I'm not sure if the inspection they do is the same that's done at other places, but I've heard the whole Texas inspection process is kind of a scam anyway, so why not go someplace where the hassle is as minimal as possible.
