We went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and this company (aka) Augie's Catering provided the food. I was really underwhelmed by the flavor....there was none. I'm not sure what the entree was but to our table we called it watery chicken stew. The broccoli with cheese was brown and the roasted potatoes were actually ok. I'm sorry , I really don't like to have to leave reviews like this but everyone at the table agreed. Owners, please taste test your items before sending them out. While they really could have gone with a more creative name, don't judge a book by its cover. This was my first time trying Columbian food and I'll be back! I ordered the bandeja paisa which is a variety of goodness: steak, sausage, fried pork belly, rice, beans, a fried egg, plantains, and a corn patty. They have a small portion for $11.95 and a large portion for $13.95 and you get a lot of bang for your buck! The portions are so generous that this is going to easily last me three meals. I loved the variety and how delicious everything this dish had to offer was. The only thing that was a little bland was the corn patty. All in all, delicious food at an affordable price. Not impressed with the front of the store but man was I BLOWN away by the food. We were recommended this location by the reception hall we're using for our wedding and I almost turned it down due to the front and location of the building. I'm GLAD I didn't! We tried almost every item on the menu and ended up flipping a coin between the house chicken and Chicken chipotle. The owner was there and he made sure everything was beautifully served and cooked properly. I HIGHLY recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a caterer or family dinner. The crispy chicken was phenomenal, as well as the chicken curry, the fish was on the top five for our decision, we decided on the steak chimichurri and chicken chipotle as our mains, the saffron rice and mixed veggies as our sides and the Caesar salad. He is Colombian and after checking out some places we decided to try this one out and we've become total regulars. The service is always quick and friendly and the food is always on point and very affordable. My roommate always gets the bandeja paisa and empanadas. Simple place in a unremarkable strip mall on Westheimer by Hwy 6. It's been here forever and because of the looks, I always would skip it and try something else. But then one day I figured it has been here so long, why not. It was a solid meal and since then I go there for lunch about twice a month because of the good food, fast pleasant service and it's never really crowded at lunch. I love the soups and the fish entries. My current favorite is the Cazuela de Mariscos. Other favs include the ceviche mixto and that fantastic green salsa. What in the heck took me so long to try this place?? I think I was frightened away from the dismal outer shell it is in. We decided to stop in here one night, as we drive by it all the time. I'm not too familiar with Columbian food, but the descriptions and photos made it sound great! We opted for two of the fish dishes. Filete Mediteraneo - Sautéed olives capers mix peppers white wine and tomato sauce and Filete Cajin.. To start they bring chips with this really yummy creamy green dipping sauce. Dinners also came with salad or lentil soup. We tried each and both were really good. Very fresh green (not iceberg or romaine) salad too! I enjoyed the soup very much as well. The fish dishes were served with rice and plantains. The portions large with flavor to match! I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. I can't wait to get back there and try other dishes! He is from Colombia and he said the only thing that was Colombian was the bandeja paisa. The food was ok, I could have stayed home and made it myself and it would have been tastier. The veggies on my plate are from that Asian medley frozen veggie bad from Birdseye. He ordered the picada (we've had better picada from la Olla on hwy 6). I had the red snapper in mojo de ajo. It was over cooked in my opinion. Service was friendly. Place was dingy and they were playing Mexican rock lol. The menu had tacos, fajitas, Mediterranean and even creole. I've been here several times over many years and have always been satisfied with the food and service. I never went with anyone from Columbia who could explain or recommend anything to try. I've always winged it using the pics on yelp and or the descriptions on the menu. Seems to work! This last visit was a bit of a surprise as far as the interior. They put curtains up and made the place much darker inside which is weird. I kind of miss the light coming in. Regardless, I recommend to give this place a try at least once. read more

I decided to give a try since I get stuck in the traffic light front of this place all the time plus I wanted to try something different. From outside and from the road does not seems inviting but wanted to try anyways. Once you enter is really nice with greek colums and beautiful chandeliers. We were quickly greet and you can choose were you want to seat. They do have working high chair for the little one. Is important to me find a place that the straps in the chair are actually working. My server was very attentive and friendly. They do have variety of music. The pictures around are really nice, good decoration. You get right away some chips with a really good and tasty green sauce, i think is avocado. My daughter did love the sauce, she was dipping everything in this sauce. As far the drinks and food they have excellent presentation and really good portions. Is really worth your money. There are lot of variety in the menu. Im from Puerto Rico and this place have a lot of dishes we eat. It just feels home in a way. I did not have room to try dessert but will do next time. Ok, so I'm not Columbian but this was the best non-Mexican food I've ever had. The restaurant is in a sort of slummy shopping center, but when you enter it is very nice and clean inside. The waitress came to our table very quick and answered all our questions about the menu. For the appetizer we had goat cheese on plantains, I think. It was really good! For entree we had paella, seafood quesadilla and fish. All was delicious and came out in a very timely manner. I loved how the food tasted so fresh and authentic. The paella was to-die-for! This place can be great, or it can be mediocre. Unfortunately, I haven't found a great way to determine what days are the best to go or what. The best things on their menu are their fresh fruit juices and their ceviche. Everything else is not that great. I've tried their steaks, some other seafood dishes, as well as some pasta, and I just wasn't a fan. The pasta in particular was actually kind of gross, as it seemed a lot like leftovers with the really dry tomato "sauce" and too much flavor of olives. The location is comfortable and it's never completely full so you can go and relax. I've seen families, couples, and individuals eat here with no problems. Service is a bit iffy sometimes, and great others. Even with the same wait staff, you really don't know what you're going to get from one visit to the next. I think this place doubles as a hangout for the family and friends of the owners, so they must go off into a corner to talk to each other sometimes instead of serving customers. I can't come up with any other logical conclusion. I will gladly return here for the ceviche, but that would be about it. read more

Whew! Its not often Im insired to write anything about a restaurant but Colombian warrants something special. Service? Helpful, attentive, friendly without being the least bit overbearing. Food? It seemed as if we had been transported to the verdant green jungles of South America! The flavors were delicately melded into creamy rich sauces and the shrimp/pork loin with mushrooms and sauteed onions was just plain GREAT food! My wife had the Arroz Valenciania, kind of a Colombian take on paella, and folks she doest even EAT rice...at all. It is that good! We will go back!
