    Seafood Cazuela

Simple place in a unremarkable strip mall on Westheimer by Hwy 6. It's been here forever and because of the looks, I always would skip it and try something else. But then one day I figured it has been here so long, why not. It was a solid meal and since then I go there for lunch about twice a month because of the good food, fast pleasant service and it's never really crowded at lunch. I love the soups and the fish entries. My current favorite is the Cazuela de Mariscos. Other favs include the ceviche mixto and that fantastic green salsa. Again nothing fancy, but a good meal.

What in the heck took me so long to try this place?? I think I was frightened away from the dismal outer shell it is in. We decided to stop in here one night, as we drive by it all the time. Each time I say, "We should try that" but cruise on by. It's not exactly tempting from the road, but don't judge this 'book by its cover'! Once inside it was a bit better - still a little past it's prime. Don't' know that I would take anyone here to impress them with its interior design, but the food will make up for it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive which was great. It certainly made us feel good that we chose to come in. The menu had lots of choices. I'm not too familiar with Columbian food, but the descriptions and photos made it sound great! We opted for two of the fish dishes. Filete Mediteraneo - Sautéed olives capers mix peppers white wine and tomato sauce and Filete Cajin.. To start they bring chips with this really yummy creamy green dipping sauce. Dinners also came with salad or lentil soup. We tried each and both were really good. Very fresh green (not iceberg or romaine) salad too! I enjoyed the soup very much as well. The fish dishes were served with rice and plantains. The portions large with flavor to match! I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. I can't wait to get back there and try other dishes! Very reasonably priced too!

El chicharrón refrito. Se ve que es del día anterior y lo volvieron a fritar hoy, no se puede ni comer de lo duro y tostado que está. El arroz horrible. También parece de ayer. Mejor dicho. Está comida la hicieron ayer. No volvería a comer ahi.

This place was a complete disappointment. My boyfriend found it on TripAdvisor and the menu is not the same at all. He is from Colombia and he said the only thing that was Colombian was the bandeja paisa. The food was ok, I could have stayed home and made it myself and it would have been tastier. The veggies on my plate are from that Asian medley frozen veggie bad from Birdseye. He ordered the picada (we've had better picada from la Olla on hwy 6). I had the red snapper in mojo de ajo. It was over cooked in my opinion. Service was friendly. Place was dingy and they were playing Mexican rock lol. The menu had tacos, fajitas, Mediterranean and even creole. We came here because the TripAdvisor review and menu made it seem legit Colombian. But it was the worst Colombian restaurant we've been to in Houston.

I've been here several times over many years and have always been satisfied with the food and service. I never went with anyone from Columbia who could explain or recommend anything to try. I've always winged it using the pics on yelp and or the descriptions on the menu. Seems to work! This last visit was a bit of a surprise as far as the interior. They put curtains up and made the place much darker inside which is weird. I kind of miss the light coming in. Regardless, I recommend to give this place a try at least once.

First time trying colombian food, the chips and salsa or whatever the green sauce they give you is delicious. Their smoothies have a fresh taste to it as well. Great place good food.

This is appetizer. They are tostones with cheese amd I added the beef, which was really tasty.

I decided to give a try since I get stuck in the traffic light front of this place all the time plus I wanted to try something different. From outside and from the road does not seems inviting but wanted to try anyways. Once you enter is really nice with greek colums and beautiful chandeliers. We were quickly greet and you can choose were you want to seat. They do have working high chair for the little one. Is important to me find a place that the straps in the chair are actually working. My server was very attentive and friendly. They do have variety of music. The pictures around are really nice, good decoration. You get right away some chips with a really good and tasty green sauce, i think is avocado. My daughter did love the sauce, she was dipping everything in this sauce. As far the drinks and food they have excellent presentation and really good portions. Is really worth your money. There are lot of variety in the menu. Im from Puerto Rico and this place have a lot of dishes we eat. It just feels home in a way. I did not have room to try dessert but will do next time. I will definitely coming back with family memebers and friend to this little jewel.

Stopped by for lunch. Ordered the Bandeja Paisa. Service is good and good came out fast. My first time ordering this dish so I have nothing to compare it to. Steak was good, but the pork belly was a bit dry. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

Great homecooked style Colombian place! Great prices, great service, great food. Even though I live 30 miles away from here, I'll make the drive, and I'm always satisfied. Try the creole shrimp or the house style shrimp and the milk smoothie with guanabana!

This is the very first restaurant that my husband took me to when we first started dating a few years ago & we decided to come back to reminisce. It is even better than I remembered. My husband is from the east coast & really knows his authentic ethnic food & he swears by this place, which is why he brought me here the first time. Great food, freshly prepared, awesome quantity and the price/value is phenomenal. The only thing that could have been better were the empanadas, they were kind of chewy & the batter is not to my preference but everything else was perfect. Service was great, very friendly and helpful. Of course we will be back.

6 empanadas and chicharron all for $9

It fills the space in the best way possible and immediately pulls you in for the full experience. One thing that really stood out to me was the customer service. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which, unfortunately, hasn't always been my experience at other Colombian restaurants. Many places I've visited primarily speak Spanish, which can sometimes make ordering a challenge. Here, I felt completely at ease and well taken care of. We started with the beef empanadas, and I highly recommend them. The crust was perfectly crispy, while the filling was soft, flavorful, and comforting. Paired with their salsa, which had just the right kick of spice, it was an excellent combination that made for a strong start to the meal. I ordered my go-to favorite, the Bandejita. The presentation was beautiful and appetizing, but sadly, the bold flavors I'm used to just weren't quite there for me. The flat steak tasted under-seasoned, and I actually found myself adding salt, which I've never had to do before at other restaurants. The pork sausage also seemed a bit dry inside, but my husband said that's how it should be, so perhaps that was just my preference. The beans had a different flavor than what I'm accustomed to as well, not bad by any means, just noticeably different. On a positive note, the pork belly was perfectly crispy, exactly how it should be, and the plantains were sweet and cooked to perfection. Overall, the menu looks incredibly tempting, and there are still plenty of dishes I'd love to come back and try. While I may skip the Bandejita next time, I definitely plan on returning to explore more of what they have to offer.

Avoid This Place - Dishonest, Disorganized, and Power-Tripping Door Staff…read moreIf you want to be lied to, ripped off, and treated like garbage before you even step foot inside, this is the place for you. I completely agree with the recent negative reviews. The door girls working on July 5th & same girls worked a previous day I came to watch the world cup game are an absolute nightmare and are actively killing this business. I had a confirmed reservation for 6 people inside in the super club room. I received multiple texts and emails confirming it, and I even called ahead to double-check due to some of their reviews of not honoring reservations. When I arrived, the door girls told me to step out of the regular line and to come forward because of my reservation. Then, they completely refused to honor it, claiming they no longer had any available tables inside. Their "solution" to a 6-person reservation was trying to force us onto a tiny, round-top table that barely fits 2 people, located outside in the blistering heat. When I refused, the girl with the clipboard walked up who I figured could help and would have better customer service but who clearly thinks she runs the show but has zero customer service skills rudely told me that if I didn't take the tiny table, I had to go to the very back of the line. Mind you, they were the ones who told me to step out of line in the first place. It gets worse. These people are completely unethical and dishonest. They charge you a cover fee at the door and sneakily add their own tip onto it without telling you. If you aren't aggressively checking, they will happily rob you blindly. The only reason this place gets any stars is because the food is actually good, and the waitresses and bartenders are nice. In fact, our waitress was the only reason we got a decent table outside. But management needs to wake up. If you are not going to honor reservations, turn off the online booking system. Fire or retrain the power-tripping, dishonest girls at the front door. Until they fix their unethical staff, save your money and go somewhere else. Another concern is it does not seem like management cares because I see zero responses to concerns on here.
