I considered the colonial Williamsburg pancake House to be a must stop every time we visit the area but after our visit this morning I don't think we will return. The staff is friendly but after our food came out we never saw the waitress again to get re-fills for the kids drinks. The manager brought us the check and when I inquired about a refill he informed me it would be an additional charge. After waiting for 30min for the check we didn't feel as if it was worth it and left. The food was ok but lacked seasoning and my son couldn't finish his pancakes because he was waiting for a refill on his drink. For the prices I would expect more, they did have a few larger tables that were taking away from the staffs ability to keep up. Plenty of other places in Williamsburg to try.

We did our comparisons using 2 different sites for reviews & drum roll please...the winner was Colonial! Parking is ample just past the building across the street. We arrived just after 8 am & were seated promptly. The host area is very small so you may want your large group to wait in the air conditioned car as I'm not sure whether they accept reservations. The menu offers so much more than just pancakes. The owner was friendly, helping where needed. Our server was nice & attentive but they have to move expeditiously to keep this fast paced restaurant moving. The coffee is wonderful. Our food came very fast. The blueberry pancakes are the best with lots of blueberries inside & out! Homemade taste not just a standard mix. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I ordered the Virginia ham & it has a lightly sweet taste. Hubby had the eggs "sunny side up" which could have been less lacy but they were good. The grits were darker than we've seen but were coarse ground and flavorful. They placed the coffee pot tableside for ease in refilling with hot coffee. Enjoyed our visit!

"Two, Two, and Two" combo with two eggs, two sausages, and two "Very Berry" pancakes.

My little brother and I came here because we recently heard that Williamsburg was the pancake capital of the world, and this place was the highest rated. It's super quaint inside, and it was packed out for a Tuesday morning when we went. We had to wait about 30 minutes of a table. I got the "Two, Two, and Two" combo with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and the "Very Berry" pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. While the service was friendly and the food wasn't horrible, I think all the hype had me had me feeling like this breakfast was going to be better than it was. Titles like "Pancake Capital of the World" and all the amazing Yelp and Google reviews had my expectations too high. I would definitely come here again and try something else on their menu. Their efficiency and friendliness is enough to draw me back in.

There's nothing like waking up to delicious breakfast food. Our hotel breakfast was pretty weak so we came on a Sunday morning but were still seated relatively quickly. Their food is that classic breakfast food which really hit the spot. I got the 2 eggs with home fries and a biscuit and my fiance got the omelet. We also got one pancake each - he got the chocolate chip and I got the apple pie pancake. I absolutely loved that you can get just one pancake, so many places make you get 3 so we don't bother but this was a perfect way to try them out without needing to commit. The food was delicious and the pancake were just right. Our server was very friendly and this place has a nice homey vibe. This was a great way to finish up our Williamsburg trip.

We love Colonial Pancake House! We are annual pass members to Colonial Williamsburg and eat here every time we visit! The food is delicious and comes out quick. It's reasonably priced and the atmosphere is like being at grandmas house!

With a touch of Americana and a very, very friendly staff. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere - but don't let that stop you. Worth the trip. It has its own charm (without the hokey stuff) with a nice, relaxing vibe. I had the simple Two, Two, and Two : pancakes eggs and bacon which was perfectly prepared. The Chocolate Chip pancakes were richly flavored. We both loved the fluffy and tasty pancakes. Perfect for families visiting the area.

Coffee is great, food was great, I had eggs, sunny side up sunny, not runny & shockingly they came out sunny, not runny, which doesn't happen often. Or in my case ever. I wish the bacon was a little crispier, but that's a personal issue. I also wish the home fries didn't have onions in them. That again is a personal issue. But I do wish they came out hotter. My daughter loved her half of a waffle The waitress Aleyna was GREAT.

We had the egg and bacon breakfast with a side of pancakes, also apple pie pancakes and a carafe of fresh coffee. It was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing, everyone was so kind and even they said 35 min wait, we were seated in 20 which we really appreciated. Our order came out hot and quickly and couldn't be more pleased at how wonderful it was. We will be coming again to this lovely, homey and wonderful pancake house!

We came here for breakfast before Busch gardens and it was perfect. The service was friendly and quick, we were able to get a table immediately (around 8am on a Saturday), and the food was great! We ordered the biscuit and gravy, very berry pancakes, and the apple pie pancakes. The biscuits and gravy gave us the "made at your grandmas house" vibe, and it was everything my wife was craving. Our son had the apple pie pancakes with ice cream and he said they were very good, but he would share them next time because they were very sweet. I had the very berry pancakes and a bit of each of theirs--perfect combo! We will be back!

It looked to have a good vibe, but once we walked in, we realized it was a coffee shop that served food. You have to get in line grab a menu and place your order. Any coffee, water or juice juices are delivered on the right side of the bar and the food is delivered on the left side of the bar. And what I mean delivered that's where you have to go to pick it up. The food is served on Small paper plates so you will lose some of your food as you try to cut or move it.. I ordered the breakfast platter which was scrambled eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, and toaste. My partner had the cheese omelette with sourdough toast. There was nothing special or extraordinary about the food. With the small paper plates that they use food easily fell onto the table top. They don't offer water in a cup, but rather you can buy a bottle of water. If you didn't realize that after you ordered, you have to go back and get in line so that you purchase your water. (We assumed they had water/cups to use). We left felling unsatisfied.

However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

So much to love about this new discovery besides the fact that it's NOT a Starbucks lol and for those that know me, you know I love and love to support and discover tucked away indie coffee places (see my reviews!). This place is also a roastery and sells their own bean blends. I don't know the history behind the shop and name but was told it is chemistry themed and owned by W&M alum - yassssss! Service is SUPER friendly and excellent so that's a bonus! I lovvvvvvve that the latte menu is chock full of super creative seasonal flavors - so many to choose from!! I stopped by twice while in town and staying just down the street. Had a hot Rose Macaron latte and the next day had the Lemon Bar. Both were DELICIOUS. NOT OVERLY SWEET BUT WITH SUBTLE FLAVORS AND BOLD ESPRESSO TASTE. NOTTTTTT WIMPY WEAK. Both days I had the OG Bacon Egg Cheese sando on an ET bagel that was a decent accompaniment to my seasonal lattes which were clearly the stars of the show. I was there during the week - once mid afternoon, the other day late morning and it was not crowded at all both days. The seating area is HUGE. 2 separate adjacent rooms - walk through the front ordering area and you'll find a large, super cozy and inviting "living room" type space with comfy couches, armchairs, dining tables with chairs and even cubes for studying. Dark and moody vibes. SUPER COZY, RELAXING AND KEPT VERY CLEAN AND TIDY. The other seating area has a bunch of tables and chairs, lots of windows, brighter and more conducive for gathering.
