Well I'm super sad to say one of my favorite pizza places was so disappointing tonight. The pizza was over done, the prices are kind of high, the crust was super dry, crunchy and burnt. The sauce and cheese even seemed different. The garlic knots were also disappointing we didn't even finish them. There was one chef making pizza and one person at the register and they are now going to be closed on Sundays. I think something has definitely changed. Went in for lunch with my 5 year old daughter's birthday. The gentleman at the register looked at us, no greeting....I started to ask him a question, and he picks up the phone. We wait. Go to order, my daughter is being friendly, tells him she is 5.....he ignored her. That's fine, some don't really like kids. Ordered....as dine in. Sat to wait, and order came out as carry out with NO plates. Garlic knots were given upside down with butter alllll over.....such a mess. So we sat and ate......on napkins. We love Colonna Pizza and find it to be one of top pizza joints in Parker, CO. Cozy restaurant to place your order and dine in. Small outdoor seating area. Owner is often in shop and making certain all patrons are happy. Delicious garlic knots (often get some for free for checking-in). I've honestly never had any pasta here but the pizza is great! NY style crust and a nice array of toppings. Sauce has good and fresh flavor. We typically ask for the crust to not be too crispy because we like a softer chew on the edges. What do you do after you take 16 yr old twins and your favorite 10 yr old to a movie on a Friday afternoon?? Why you go for Pizza of course!!!!! I find myself for one reason or another spending more and more time in parker so it was time to find a pizza place. Enter trusty Yelp App. Colonna's seemed like the place to go and so off we went. It's situated in a strip mallish type place and plenty of parking. It's a neat little place I think. Plenty of room to move around and sit down and it's more a family place then a hipster trendy place. I like that you didn't have to order a whole pizza; they sell by the slice fairly reasonable at that. This is helpful when you have hungry teenagers or not everyone wants pizza. Riley was up for a meatball sub so we decided to share one. That was a great idea because it was plenty for 2 people to share. Both of us were almost instantly in love with their meatballs. It's hard to find a good meatball for some reason. They were tender and not tough. The seasoning was not over powering and it went great with their sauce. I like that you actually got meatballs and not a loaf of bread full of more sauce then meatball. They aren't stingy on the cheese either. You can't have a good meatball sammich with out good bread. Their fit the bill on that aspect as well. Not dry, a little toasted from the cheese melting in the oven, enough to actually hold the meatballs with out to much tearing. The boys enjoyed their pizza. I didn't get to try some yet because 1/2 that meatball and a few fries was plenty for me. What I liked was the atmosphere and how they treated the people that walked in. There was a nice gentleman who reminded me of the guy you see in the movies sitting by the stoop in a chair talking to a bunch of other older gents in their chairs as well. He was handing out simile face stickers to the kids. It so reminds me of the places back east that I loved where everyone was not only greeted but actually spoken to like they were important. He was even more then happy to actually listen to and consider the boys idea for a cookie desert pizza. He actually seemed to really be considering it. The girls at the register were very helpful and made see we knew how things were done. The boys agreed we should visit again on another movie day. If you're looking to get just a quick slice and a soda, this place is going to be Ok. Not great, just Ok. The place is clean, but very very kitchy. From the life sized Blues Brothers statues and the over-the-top knick knacks on the walls the interior has a very cheesy, kind of childish feel. The pros: Staff was friendly and quick to prepare everyone's orders. The pizza (I had a slice with pepperoni and Italian sausage) was hot and made to order, and the price ($3) was on point. The cons: The sauce they use is super super sweet. They must not cut it with any tomato paste, it seems to be straight roma tomatoes which are very sweet. Being from New York I think I know what a good Pizza is. I can say this is the best pizza I've had since moving here. They actually have REAL oven and not those wire conveyer belts like most pizzaria's in this town. I came back and got a chicken parm hero which is another staple in NY. It comes with fries which is new to me, but hey, why not? I'll take it! That also was really good. They have really good sauce which can make or break a pizzeria in my opinion. I have no major complaints about Colonna's, but several minor ones. I had been meaning to check it out for some time, and since I wanted to try someplace "new" in Parker, here is where we went. The place seemed clean, and well-staffed. The flow at the cashier is a bit hectic, as customers waiting to order tend to back up into the aisles. This means they are standing right next to the seated diners and that they are blocking access to the drink station, bathrooms, etc. The interior and vibe reminded me of an upscale Fazoli's. We had the Garlic Knots (decent, but nothing special) and ordered a large combo pizza (1/2 Florence w/ Italian Sausage, Onions, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Roasted Red Peppers, Fresh Basil, and the other 1/2 Tuscany w/ Genoa Salami, Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni, Onions, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Green/Red Peppers & Fresh Basil). I had them sub Kalamata Olives for the black olives. However, they messed up a bit, and only did it on 1/2 of the pie. The pies were hot. The toppings were fresh and generous. The flavors were acceptable. It was a good pizza. Yet somehow it did not strike me as being an authentic NY pizza, or even a strong facsimile thereof. The crust was not quite structurally substantial enough to support the toppings. I also think they may have under-cooked it a tad, as it had a soggy center (a pet peeve of mine). I did not try the sandwiches, but the one being eaten by the guy at the next table looked very good. I would consider coming back here for lunch as the specials seemed very reasonably priced. Also, it has been my experience that you are far less likely to get a soggy individual slice versus a whole pie. read more

No apologies or seemed to care. Was told it would take 13 minutes to re-fire the pizzas and it was 45 minutes later and again didn't seem to care about making me wait or giving incorrect information. We stopped in on Saturday after work. We had the veggie calzones. We ordered them well done. I cannot stand floppy dough. First: Calzones were cooked perfectly! Awesome! Sauce was great, but they don't give enough sauce, we each had to ask for extra sauce. Second: I was slightly irritated that it was difficult to find a table, as they had reserved signs on like 6 of the few tables they have. The elderly man finally gave us one of the reserved tables. I don't think it is reasonable to reserve tables when you have people ordering at the counter and then need a place to sit!! People who are already there deserve a place to sit and enjoy their meal! Can't just stand and hold your plate in the corner. Third: It took a Looooonnng time (50 minutes!!!!!!!) for our food to come out. I am not kidding! It was becoming really knee jerking annoying waiting for the food. Forth: I give the four stars based on the absolutely incredible calzone. My mouth is watering for it while I am writing this. Additionally, the staff are really friendly. Our waitress brought us out two little cannoli's because we had to wait for our food so long. Those cannoli's were amazing too!! We ordered 2 pizzas, a caprese salad, 8 teriyaki wings with ranch, and two desserts. The pizzas were fine. What bothered me was they forgot the 8$ salad but surely charged us for it. Also the wings were barbecue because "Teriyaki is just a special sauce they sometimes have". I've never heard of such a thing figuring everywhere I've ever been that sells wings, has teriyaki. They also forgot the ranch and the fries were pretty lame. The only reason they're getting 3 stars is because the desserts were amazing, especially the tiramisu- and the pizza was ok and not super greasy like most pizza. This is a great place to bring kids for a birthday party. The staff was awesome in assisting us and the kids all loved the pizzas.
