Making an appointment was super quick and easy. The owner was v attentive and organized w responding to what I wanted after explaining in email. She's also really sweet!! She paired me w a colorist, Rosie, who was receptive to my vision and excited to do my hair. For context, I went from a bright teal blue to darker hues of blues and browns. My hair is long and big so this was a project! I'm really grateful for Grace's assistance and transparent communication w color options and last but not least Rosie's dedication to bringing the vision I had for my hair to a reality. In my experience, finding the right hair person that truly understands what you're going for w your hair is so rare. I've had so many experiences where people have been intimidated by what I wanted for my hair but Rosie wasn't at all and she totally killed it. It looks so pretty now and I love it! So perfect for winter and the new year! Overall, I think this place is a gem because they're not limited to doing basic looks. I went here the other day and got a haircut. It was a wonderful experience with the hairdresser named Taylor. She was friendly and very steady. I was impressed with how good she was for only a $60 haircut! Her shampooing/conditioner treatment was delightful and she definitely has skills for the stars. But my favorite part about Taylor, was that she actually listened to me when I asked for a certain cut and also didn't hesitate to suggest what was right for my face. She is known for her amazing coloring but her cutting skills are also quite superb. Get her while you can! read more

I can't always afford to get my hair done like I'd like to but when I do I don't trust anybody else but Mari. She is the best at doing my fun color or getting me to that desired blonde. My cut is always exactly what I want and my tape in extensions always blend just right. She's also, always, a blast to talk to while sitting in the chair. Which is important to me. read more

One of the most disappointing hair experiences I've ever had. I told my hair dresser (who was really great all around, except for when she showed me my hair and I hated it) that I wanted to spruce up my GOLD hair, as my roots had grown out. FIVE HOURS LATER. I ended up with the exact same hair, except my hair was now ashy. I still had dark roots. So my natural, pretty, gold was taken away even though I communicated that I loved my gold. Grand total was $320 for a hair color that was the same as my old, except a little worse. Extremely disappointed. I will not be going back. The two stars are only because of the conversation I had with my stylist for the FIVE hours I was in the chair. read more

This review is for Mari and the employees at Color Lounge who give me a phenomenal experience each time I visit this salon. Before I began getting services with Mari, I had very low self-esteem about my hair and overall appearance. Other wack salons and hair dressers ruined my hair with bad bead-extensions that left me near bald. (Okay, I'm exagerating but it wasn't cute) I met Mari through a friend and she told me about the magic of tape extensions. I was interested because of the least amount of damage they do to your actual hair and the maintenance is quick! The tape extensions stay flush with your scalp for 4 weeks and then they start to show if you have thin hair, like me. I've been stretching my current extensions for 7 weeks and they aren't noticeable if I curl my hair. (Its when they grow out, you can notice) When you check in, they offer you a beverage and have a good selection of treats. Sometimes these salon appointments take a long time and its great they have snacks! Mari's color work is amazing too. She safely lifted my stubborn black asian hair with minimal orange and recommended a purple shampoo that kept me ashy! I will keep going back to Mari because I trust her with my hair. She listens to what you want and is meticulous with her work. She even stays late if she isn't satisfied with her work. (I was satisfied but I'm glad she kept working on it) She doesn't do you a dis-service by overbooking. She is the sweetest and I highly recommend her! read more

After going for over a year now, I wanted to write a review! This is for Mari and Color Lounge both! Pros: - Mari understands my hair and cuts/dyes it perfectly! My hair can be stubborn too... There was a time when it fought against holding color, but Mari figured out how to tackle the problem with me, and she was super patient and attentive through the process. - As a freelancer, my schedule can be extremely last minute. Because I can't work with visible roots, I often need to book an appointment to touch them up before heading out on a job. Mari manages to work me in despite my short notice, and she's always responded professionally and in a timely manner. - When I'm in the chair, I usually like to chat (and it's fun to catch up whenever I'm in!), but during appointments where I might be feeling less talkative, she's good at reading that and is totally awesome about it. - Overall, Mari is a professional. I trust my hair with her! Regarding Color Lounge as a whole: - I really love the atmosphere. The other stylists seem really nice, and the salon is clean, bright, and offers snacks and beverages during your visit. Grace and her team from Color Lounge did the hair and make up for my June wedding, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Her team was professional, but FUN and made that long, stressful day so much more enjoyable. Our wedding was an 'Old Hollywood" theme and we sent them some pictures of very challenging hairstyles for the bridesmaids. I said that I understand that these are pictures of starlets and you will be dealing with 'real' people, so just go in the vein that I have suggested for each girl. They made everyone look almost EXACTLY like the pictures we sent them. And as for me... I have never felt so beautiful and glamorous. Grace advised me where to purchase my extensions, and then expertly applied them, making me look like a modern day Veronica Lake, which was exactly what I was going for. Grace is amazing, I have been going to her for Brazilian blow outs for years now, she is also the only stylist I have ever let color my hair and cut my hair short! The first time she styled my hair I had no idea what I wanted she was super patient and she sat with me and went through magazines with me to find the right look. My hair always looks great and I'm always satisfied. I've sent many friends to her because I know that they will be happy with the results. It is pricey but totally worth it, she takes her time and always does a great job. I have not tried any of the other stylist at the salon but I know they are amazing because Grace gets her hair done by them lol so that says something. I've tried a couple other places for Brazilian blow oust recently and was really disappointed, Grace leaves my hair soft and super straight. :) The atmosphere in the salon is cool, an open layout with big comfy couches to sit on, wine, beer, water or coffee available for customers. Stacy Goodwin moved to the Color Lounge a few years back and I finally decided that I needed to go and visit her for a cut and color. The salon is really cute! They have a HUGE coffee table (filled with magazines to keep you entertained) and a rather large seating area when you walk in. They also have a table filled with goodies, coffee or wine in case you like to indulge a little. Stacy, as always, is very sweet, attentive and listens to exactly what you want. What I like about her is the fact that she will tell you her opinion but she's not pushy about it. Keep in mind, she's been doing this for YEARS so she knows what will look good and what won't, so listen to her! She's colored my hair purple/violet a few years ago that I received an unbelievable amount of compliments for it. My recent visit, I colored my hair back to my natural color (dark brown) to cover up an ombre job I got bored of, and I got a haircut since most of my hair looked dead. I love this salon, the peoplez and their products! The salon is a safe place and I felt very comfortable and accepted throughout the appointment. Very reasonable prices for quality work and environment. I have played around with colors recently so I went yesterday, May 19th to get a color correction on my hair because it needed a LOT of help. I had dyed it blue and it faded into a green and it was impossible to get out by myself after trying literally everything! Sia and Diane did an amazing job with my hair, they got the green and the blues out of my hair! My at home dying and bleaching damaged my hair a little, so they decided not to use bleach and my stubborn green blue dye actually came out without further damaging my hair!! Sia asked me a whole bunch of questions that I answered honestly that helped them give me the best hair I could have! I didn't know what I wanted to do with my hair after but I knew I wanted something low maintenance and we settled on pink so it can have a rose gold tint when it fades. I'm a guy and it's hard to find a place in comfortable getting my hair done. This place was great! I walked in and they actually smiled at me! Other salons just laugh. Instead of just sitting me down and cutting my hair the way they wanted, they handed me a drink and made me relax and look over hairstyles for men that I would be interested in.
