Julio was the first to answer my request for a quote, and the first to schedule an appointment to see the house. He showed up on time, and I was impressed that as the owner of the business, Julio arrived instead of sending an employee. He told me when he would email me a quote after our meeting, and he sent the quote when he said he would. This is why I chose Julio's Painting beyond his quote, which was reasonable and within my budget. Julio followed through on what he said he would do, which is very important to me in business and in life. My house was initially a garish bright blue, as if the Smurfs had relocated to Northwest Reno. This project was more than a paint job, it was an aesthetic intervention. Within a week from the day that I requested a quote, Julio and José began the process of giving my place a much needed upgrade...to my relief and to that of my neighbors, who stopped by to compliment the evolving exterior facelift of the property. The job would have taken no more than three or four days, but Reno experienced half a week of pouring rain. I wouldn't have asked them to show up on a holiday, but they came by on Labor Day to make up for the lost time caused by the downpour. Even with the weather inconvenience, they were able to complete the job within a week, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Julio and José were punctual, immaculate and took care not to step on my flowers near where they were painting in the front yard. They were mindful of picking up any debris during and after the painting process. It's obvious that Julio has been painting for decades, he is a master of his craft and takes pride in his work from the beginning to the end. On a personal level, I felt safe with Julio and José in my home, and I was comfortable leaving them alone to work and have access to the inside of the house when I had to leave for a few hours. It is really comforting to have this level of trust when contracting a company for home improvement projects. They definitely left my place nicer than they found it, and made my house look brand new from the outside. I would highly recommend Julio's Painting for any painting project, and I am looking forward to contracting this company again to paint the interior of my studio this fall.

I was just asking for trim boards around the roof of a one story home to be painted. Very little scraping to be done but they are dirty as we get lots of dirt in this location. I specifically asked him is his estimate included washing the boards before painting them. He hesitated and then told me "we can do that". It sounded like he was not going to clean before painting. That is one way the paint will peel in no time. I have no way to know if he was going to do it but his answer led me to believe he had to add more in the estimate. We did not use this company as the estimate was higher than I paid in the past for trim on a home that was this size and one story. Last year I had all the trim boards painted plus a wood fence area off front porch (about 4 ft) on a two story home for less than this company was going to charge. It was a professional company I found on Yelp. So I did not feel like the price was right for the amount of work on this home. I was in property management for 30 years so I have an idea of what need to be done and have kept up with prices. **Yes, I am giving you a review based on your estimate which is fair. I was being nice giving a 3 star but after your comment I am glad I did not use your company. If a 3 star review is not something you can handle, don't reply, it does not look good.

We had a large ceiling crack and cracks around the window frames from settling... all were patched and look great. The work was done in three days. We used sherwin williams Greek villa. Considerations: because this house will be renovated overspray on flooring, cabinets, and fixtures were a non issue. Dennis agreed and In bid I stated 'no doors, ceiling or baseboards needs painting'. After 2.5 hours ( they did a great job on walls- were clean and left no mess) but the door frame was not painted. When I asked Dennis about it he said in the bid I put 'no baseboards'. We went back and forth and he agreed to return to paint door frame for another $150! I declined. My suggestion would be to get a contract clear and concise in writing from these guys! I learned afterwards, they are employees of Tahoe Paint, but the owner allowed employees to take side jobs on the holiday utilizing the company equipment. This explains too why they only accepted cash.

For this project, he came by about three times and did several things: moved the sink and toilet plumbing about a foot to the left (this was my request because I plan to install a handicap-accessible shower in the future), installed a new cabinet and toilet, mounted a mirror with hidden electrical, replaced outdated lighting with recessed lighting, and handled drywall work and prep for paint. He showed up right on time, finished in about 20 minutes, and cleaned everything up afterward. He's efficient, professional, and just genuinely nice to work with. Eventually they sent someone out and they proceeded to do the exact same thing they did before which was paint the caulking before it had a chance to dry let alone cure. I watched them caulk it and then come immediately after and paint it not 5 minutes later. Everyone knows that caulking should fully cure for 24 hours before you try to paint it otherwise it will do exactly what it did (Google it). Sure enough, a week later the same places where they caulked and painted are pulling apart, cracking and splitting...imagine that. Now I will have to hire another company to come along behind them and fix their mistakes since they will not do it correctly themselves.

He provided me a quote based on pictures I sent and provided 2 possible quotes - one to fix the drawer using the existing wood and another if they had to rebuild the drawer altogether. I brought the broken drawer in and within a few days the drawer was fixed. They ended up rebuilding the cabinet drawer, which I'm glad they did. They used quality wood which makes the drawer more durable and the rails on the side fit perfectly back into place when put back in the cabinet opening. They have excellent service, and the quality of the work they did for the price was excellent (they came in the lowest quote from 3 businesses I reached out to on Yelp). I can't say enough good things about this company. Larry, the owner, came out last year and gave me an estimate to paint my house. He responded quickly when I used the House Adviser app. (I understand he now uses Next-door). I had three painters come out and bid on the job. Larry was the middle amount. Something about his demeanor and the fact that he was on time for the appointment just clicked. He had all the answers I was looking for and I know that the cheapest price is not always the best deal. We were able to negotiate with our HOA to put the painting off a year, so I told Larry and asked if he would put me on his schedule for 2020. We touched base a couple times over a 12-month period. Well, today the painting is finished! WOW, it looks amazing. His crew was prompt, clean, well mannered and efficient. It only took two days because we had the trim done a couple years ago. He painted the body of the house, three doors, a double garage door and single garage door. He took all the downspouts off and painted them separately (so they now disappear into the color of the house) then touched up all the screws with paint after reassemblying. His prep work was perfection and the cleanup even better. My patio looked better after he left than it did when he arrived. Mike used Sherwin Williams Duration paint which is excellent stuff and retails for $75 a gallon. Marco, his son, James and their co-worker Rudy are all top notch at what they do. Their attention to detail was outstanding--every edge was crisp, every surface was flawlessly prepared, (they had a lot of rework to do from our last painter), and the final result exceeded our expectations. They were punctual, professional, and took great care in protecting our new pavers. They were flexible when we made some last minute changes which we really appreciated. It's clear they take pride in their craft, and it truly shows in the quality of their work.
