Atmosphere: The Colorado Cherry Company is a must-stop, especially if you're driving back from Estes Park. When we arrived, it wasn't crowded yet, but shortly after, the place filled up with families and visitors. People grabbing food and enjoying mini pies or drinks. Even when it got busy, the crowd didn't feel overwhelming. People move in and out quickly, so it stays manageable if you're already seated. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual stop to eat, grab a dessert, or pick up something to take home. Food: We tried the bison pot pie, which was freshly made and served steaming hot. The crust was perfect! Flaky, buttery, and paired beautifully with the savory filling. The bison flavor was rich and well-seasoned. We also had a cherry pie pocket, which was crispy on the outside and moist inside, with a perfectly balanced sweet-and-tart cherry filling that wasn't overpowering. The food here sells out fast, so I highly recommend saving room to eat here, because their best dishes don't last long. Drinks: We tried the peach-apple cider, which was flavorful and sweet. You can taste both the peach and apple cider base. Personally, I preferred the cherry juice if you want something less sweet, but the cider was still good. They also offer coffee, ice cream, and a variety of drinks to pair with your treats. Price: Bison pot pie: $12 Peach cider: around $12 Total for our meal: roughly $25-$28 The pricing felt fair for fresh, delicious food that's made on-site and for a specialty Colorado experience. Overall Experience: I absolutely loved my visit. I've been to the Colorado Cherry Company a few times, but this was the first time I actually sat down to enjoy a meal there. It's a fun, cozy spot that's worth taking the time to eat at rather than just grabbing something to go. We recently visited a spot in Colorado that my wife had been raving about. It was one of those "must-go" places, so naturally, I had high expectations. The place was nearly empty, yet we ended up waiting over 15 minutes for a single slice of cherry pie. When I finally asked about the order, there seemed to be some confusion behind the counter. It turns out the pie had already been put in the microwave to warm up and was forgotten about, only to be reheated again. Now, about the pie itself: it was made with croissant dough, which gave it a delightful flakiness. I could tell it had potential to be amazing fresh out of the oven, but sadly, the microwaving didn't do it justice. What a wonderful little place. The pies and the pork green chili pockets are fantastic. Everything is fresh and home cooked. They also offer different types of ciders and tart cherry juice. Supper yummy and god for you too. The restrooms are clean and the service is great. If you are ever coming or going to Estes lark, please do not forgot to stop. This place is my favorite part about driving into Estes! My fiancé and I always stop here, either on the way into town or on our way home. We have tried almost everything at this point, and it's all really great! My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter pie that is served chilled. I also really like their pantry-style store selection of salsas, syrups and ciders. We always order something for here and buy a few things from the store side to go. read more

We have been coming to Big Elk Meadows for years. We stopped for the first time a week ago. I knew I wouldn't have time to cook so we stopped and picked up some Kraut Burgers....yum great choice. We also picked up some dessert blueberry turnovers...OMG now we are hooked!! read more

It was Black Bing cherry juice which she may have thought of when I had a gout attack with her years ago. It's hard to say for sure but it was a good experience. I didn't want the juice to be too sweet and sugary but it wasn't and it had a good tartness to it. I don't know how long this place has been around but I don't remember coming across it during my adventures to Estes Park. I could have missed it... that is certainly possible as there is a lot to take in foe the tourists in this town. *Update* This shop is at the Stanley Hotel which explains why I haven't seen it...I have only been to that hotel once! Even then I don't remember it.
