A friend of ours treated us to Colorado Cherry Company. As the name sounds it's all about cherries! We got a gift package who our friend treated us to and we got to try out the cherry juice. It was Black Bing cherry juice which she may have thought of when I had a gout attack with her years ago. It's hard to say for sure but it was a good experience. I didn't want the juice to be too sweet and sugary but it wasn't and it had a good tartness to it. I don't know how long this place has been around but I don't remember coming across it during my adventures to Estes Park. I could have missed it... that is certainly possible as there is a lot to take in foe the tourists in this town. *Update* This shop is at the Stanley Hotel which explains why I haven't seen it...I have only been to that hotel once! If I could give them 10 starts I would. I was leaving Estes Park and I didn't stop on the way in, and like fate, I passed it as I was leaving. I was traveling solo - so did I "need" an entire pie, no. But, I did grab 2 of the cherry pie pockets. My god. The best crust I have ever eaten. I also picked up two bottles of tart cherry juice which were reasonably priced. They had a TON of baked goods, and sauces, pickles, everything you'd want to pick up. I have driven past this mom and pop shop at least over 50 times before I finally decided to go in. I am so happy I did because they have so many other things other than cherry products! They have jams, syrups, homemade ciders that are sugar free, and fresh pies!! They sell frozen pies, pies by the slice, fresh baked pies. I've always seen this place on the way to Estes Park. We decided to stop because I wanted to see if they carried honeycomb. They do! Plus tons of jams, jellies, ciders & much more! I went to the location at the Stanley hotel recently. I walked in , didnt talk to the employees, didn't ask for any help . I simply picked a few items then went to the cashier to pay . I gave her my credit card . She pressed something on the monitor that was facing her. She flipped the monitor around for me to sign . The cashier had picked the 2nd tip option for about $3.50 for me. This place is awesome! We are so glad we dropped by after our visit to RMNP. However, we wish we would've had time to drop by again earlier in the day, since they were out of bison chili by the time we got there. The pie pockets are so delicious! Cherry was my favorite, and I wish I could get them delivered here. I also got cherry ice cream, and that was superb as well. So many neat treats to choose from - one stop is just not enough. The best part of the Stanley Hotel!!! This cute little bakery/coffee & dessert shop is located in the basement of the Stanley Hotel by the tour desk. They have coffees, lattes, hot chocolate and about 7 different types of fruit cider available hot or cold and in bottles to take on the road! I got hot peach cider three times today because it was so delicious on such a blustery, winter day. The gentleman at the counter was so sweet to let me order one 3 minutes before closing!! They have cherry pie, apple pie, and a variety of baked goods and ice cream. Their service is friendly and fun! My only thought is that they should stay open an hour or 2 later than they are (they close at 7). The hotel has no other dessert amenities or hot chocolate at night. There are multiple night tours and after trucking around in the cold, a hot chocolate would have totally hit the spot. We also thought a slice of warm pie around 9pm would be a delight! We're missing out! Please stay open longer!! And there should be a sign in the lobby so more people know about it. We stumbled on it by accident and they're such a treasure down there, more folks need to know they're there!!! read more

All of the pies that we had were excellent -- chicken pot pies, cherry pie, blueberry pie, French silk chocolate pie. My wife is very particular about cherry pie, and she raved about the cherry pie. We are not real big on blueberry pie, but I tried a slice and it was wonderful (as my wife attested), so I had blueberry pie on subsequent visits. read more
