Really enjoyed the food here; probably the best meal I've had in Sedona during our week long visit! I would even give them five stars if it were not for the weird ordering system that makes you order food and non alcoholic drinks apart from alcohol. We were considering getting cocktails but decided to just get soda because we didn't want to deal with another line and transaction. I imagine other people feel similarly so they may be losing sales due to this odd arrangement. We both had burgers- I had the jalapeño popper burger which was excellent and my fiancé had the cheddar burger. Burgers are so huge and served with a ton of lettuce and tomato and piled high on a brioche bun. The bun and the apricot BBQ sauce were the best. Real jalapeños and cream cheese. A manager came over to chat with me after we finished and we were just finishing up our sodas and she was super nice and cared to hear our feedback. Bathrooms were also very nice and clean. The soda is self serve but we got our burgers very quickly- it is not table service- you retrieve them at the kitchen counter when your number is called on their speaker system. We came here for both breakfast and dinner. You order first here and then sit, separate line for alcohol. It was busy when we arrived for dinner, the table we sat at hadn't been swiped down and had bbq sauce on that my husband got on him! The good, the bad, the ugly... Here we go! First of all, this is an order at the counter and then you get your order and take it to your seat. This is a seat yourself. Larger parties will probably not fit inside (bigger than 4 is a larger party). I'm not sure why yelp shows it is good for larger parties... While inside, our number is called. Now I can't rush my 3 yr old (though I tried the more stressed I became)... And they proceeded to call our number every 1-2 seconds, getting louder every time and then added my name to it. When my son was finally done in the restroom, I rushed out very very frazzled and explained we were in the bathroom. Come to find out, even though they were calling our number incessantly... Our full order want even ready. The Mac and cheese was placed out as we had already taken the other food out and I had happened to go back in for some sauce. So at this point, I'm stressed, trying to get the other things we need to eat... And finally get back to the table. That's when we discovered the burnt hamburger (my son had maybe a bite or two), the flat chicken tenders (if you can call them chicken with as little meat as there was), and the fact that they didn't make the one accommodation I had asked for but gave us the whole fried chicken sandwich. Our first time here and it was the best meal we had this week. Dinner and 2 cokes was under $50. My girlfriend got the pulled pork and was able to finish about half. They forgot to add all of the sauces we ordered and if I didn't remind them about our dessert then that would have been forgotten as well. OMG happy dance... brisket was phenomenal!!! Got the small plate with half lean and half rich cut (so nice that they ask you). This is what I was craving (especially after having brisket at another place a few days earlier that left me wanting). Colt Grill delivered! Brisket was nice and smoky and juicy. The serving size for the small plate was perfect for me to indulge. I tried a couple of their sauces (the smoky campfire one and the sweet fire one?) and they were both fantastic. The buns on the sandwich and burger looked glisteny and fluffy (no stale old buns here!) and the meats in between looked so juicy and thick. We were visiting for the weekend and saw good reviews so we gave this place a try. The location seating for inside and outside is limited, and parking on the street in front can be risky. So I would recommend parking away or ordering out in case it gets busy. We got there right before the dinner rush, so the staff felt 'not ready' when we walked in. The Mac and cheese came with bacon on top and has a good spice level. The toast was underwhelming. The chicken and pulled pork on the sampler platter were dry, and the turkey was dry in places as well. The brat was good, the brisket was great, and the ribs were great as well. We also got the Cowboy Cookie, and the tag said it was 2 days old. It was pretty crumbly and dry as well. I will also say when I was initially grabbing the food, the trays were hot and the cook/expo did not warn me. For food, we ordered a BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Mac & Cheese, and a "Filly" Cheesesteak. The smoked brisket "Filly" Cheesesteak was the best cheesesteak sandwich that I have ever eaten (exponentially better than any proper Philly Cheesesteak that I have ever tried!!!), and I would happily drive 2 hours from phoenix to grab one! The smoked brisket was seasoned perfectly and soooo moist and tender ... all I can say is YUM! The BBQ chicken sandwich was also great -- very moist and tender too. Colt Grill was close to our hotel in Sedona and came highly recommended by the hotel front desk clerk, so when our niece gave us the option to dine here for dinner, we took it as a sign. The smokers are outside in the front of the restaurant which is pretty cool. The ordering processes is unique.
