We went for lunch and there was no wait, which could have been a red flag. The restaurant is nice. I ordered the carne asada tacos and they only came with rice and beans. They didn't come with sour cream or guacamole for being $23 seems a bit pricey. The tacos were so spicy I had to stop eating them as my mouth was on fire. When the waiter suggested them he should have mentioned they were spicy. Also, the meat in the taco was luke warm and the tortilla wasn't fresh. My daughter had the cheese enchiladas that she shared with me. They were bland. The salsa looked odd and I couldn't figure out why. I ordered a side of guacamole and it was $8, and drinks $4 a piece. They nickel and dime you on everything. $65 plus tip for 2 people for mediocre food. I'd go somewhere else. Chipotle is better. read more

This is a really nice Mexican restaurant in uptown Sedona. I was working, so I usually don't stop up there unless I get lucky and find a parking spot which I did. I had been here in the past when it had a different name, but this experience was much better. I was seated by the windows which have a fantastic view of the mountains. I ordered a Chile Relleno plate with rice and beans. It was delicious and looked very upscale and elevated. The prices in this area are more than average, but this meal was worth it. The service was exceptional and fast. I'm not generally in this area often, but I would definitely return. read more

We loved this place! We were strolling the street after a long hike and looked up at their rooftop patio and said 'heck yes!' We started with the chips (fresh!) and salsa, which was dark and smokey, and wonderful. Hubby had a beer and I had the Smokey Margarita (highly recommend!) and we split the Queso Fundido. I've had thus many times in Texas, but never with corn & Pablano peppers in it. So fresh and DELICIOUS!! My only complaint... they only give you 4 tortillas with it, then charge you if you ask for more. Service was good and the view was AMAZING! What a nice addition to a perfect day. read more

Nice spot with a fun view. We wanted Mexican food and were not disappointed with the food here! We started with the elote appetizer, and a big fresh plate of warm chips are provided. The food portions are good for the main meal, but each meal comes with a beans and rice side plate that made for a lot of food! This is definitely a good place to share one dish. We were promptly seated on the rooftop patio that had spectacular views. Along the railing will be on the direct sunlight during the late afternoon but you can sit fully in the shade in against the wall. Sweeping views of the rocks and even if you are sitting with your back to the views, they have installed mirrors for your viewing pleasure. We ordered the cheese enchilada and the quesabirria. Enjoyed our meal at La Vecina! We were visiting from out of town and looking for good Mexican and came across. From the sounds of it, this restaurant is newly renamed with a new owner. The rooftop has a beautiful view of the landscape. Somewhat small menu, but the classics are there. I decided to have the enchiladas "you pick" combo. I chose chicken and beef which was a good choice. My husband ordered a taco bowl which was plentiful in portion size. Both dishes were. The service was a little slow, but I think they're just getting their bearings in place and might have been down a few servers. Ours was friendly and when attentive, was nice. read more

Conveniently located on the main road in Sedona near shops. The upstairs outdoor area is great for some nice views and enjoying the beautiful weather. They do have heater units in case it gets cold. To be honest the only downside is the food was expensive for Mexican. Average dinner plate was $25-28 but very delicious. We got the vampiro tacos with sirloin and the al pastor tacos. The chips and salsa were good and complimentary. Our server was attentive and helpful with the menu. I also got the shuga and spice margarita. WOW. This place was a fantastic surprise. We walked right in. I chose this place based on my fellow Yelpers--so thank you! It's new to Sedona and is making its name. The chips were soooo good with the queso. (Of course I was starving as well after a long day of hiking!) Picky 9 was not impressed with her cheese quesadilla but appreciated the fries. Kid 1 went with quesabirria tacos and found them to be yummy. I had the beef chimichanga. The red and green sauces were a perfect combination of spice and yumminess. Hubs had the shrimp fajitas. This restaurant is right on the uptown strip-so conveniently located. Great views. we had a Birria Burrito and l Pastor tacos-both came with rice and beans. They were both very good. There are a lot of stairs to get into the place and again to get upstairs to the outdoor patio but it was nice. The wait staff were attentive and the food was presented nicely. We had the Tinga enchiladas with a green chile sauce that was amazing and a trio of al pastor tacos with chunks of pineapple and super tender thinly sliced pork in fresh tortillas. Starting with Julio, our server, everything was topnotch. Julio was very attentive. He noticed our table was wobbly, and he fixed that immediately. After we finished the first batch of tortilla chips and sauce, he obliged and gave us another round. He was conversant and accommodating, and had such good humor. We were so glad we had him as our server. Wish I had taken pictures of what we ate, but we got carried away and started eating because every dish looked so good and so very much mouth-watering. We started with the calamari and were so happy we chose it as an appetizer. So tender! The chicken quesadilla was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Even after all the chicken was gone, the veggies were enough to make another meal. The quesabirria was delicious. It's the Mexican version of French Dip except this is better. The sauce was amazing. No courtesy to customers! Waiters slam plates on table. Toss plates around when cleaning up empty tables with no consideration to adjoining tables trying to carry on a conversation. Asked to sit in Balcony they stated there was not any room, clearly there was plenty because we checked but they were in their last 2 hours of operation and did not want to inconvenience themselves! Hostess barely said hello . We requested upstairs since there is a pretty view and she puts us right across from the waiter storage room. We asked to be moved. Best thing is the tortilla chips. Downhill from there. Salsa with chips was very bland. We had tasteless short rib tacos. Zero seasoning. We had the combo fajitas. They are teriyaki in a sweet sauce. Very strange and all protein tasted more stewed than grilled and charred. The refried beans also had almost no flavor. Asked for a margarita that wasnt too sweet. Waiter recommended one- i asked if he could specify not too sweet to the bartender as well. It was still super sweet. Waiter asked me how it was- let him know and he offered no solution and walked away. Very disappointing experience. I would go only for the view, if you like super sweet margaritas, and maybe some nachos? read more
