    That salsa?!? So good!
    Pauline J.

We loved this place! We were strolling the street after a long hike and looked up at their rooftop patio and said 'heck yes!' We started with the chips (fresh!) and salsa, which was dark and smokey, and wonderful. Hubby had a beer and I had the Smokey Margarita (highly recommend!) and we split the Queso Fundido. I've had thus many times in Texas, but never with corn & Pablano peppers in it. So fresh and DELICIOUS!! My only complaint... they only give you 4 tortillas with it, then charge you if you ask for more. Service was good and the view was AMAZING! What a nice addition to a perfect day.

Oh so good! Amazing margaritas, warm crunchy chips and an environment that's casual but nice. The service was great. Kept my water glass full and chips coming! I had the carne asada tacos and they had the perfect spicy taste. Would eat here again.

Visited this place while in Sedona in the Uptown part of Sedona. Really enjoyed this restaurant and the views from the upstairs patio. Staff were friendly, we only had an appetizer & drinks , but loved their chips & salsa and big margaritas. I looked at others plates sitting next to us and everything looked fresh & delicious!

Nice spot with a fun view. We wanted Mexican food and were not disappointed with the food here! We started with the elote appetizer, and a big fresh plate of warm chips are provided. The food portions are good for the main meal, but each meal comes with a beans and rice side plate that made for a lot of food! This is definitely a good place to share one dish. Staff and ambience inside are great. ¡Buen provecho!

Good restaurant in Sedona. We had a party at five and got seated pretty quickly when we ate here recently. It felt like a pretty large restaurant and was not overly busy. The way staff was quick and attentive, and the food came out warm and prepared well. I ordered the El Pastor burrito. The chips and salsa were very very good as well. I like how thick and chunky the salsa was.

La Venice for lunch while in Sedona. Great food, great drinks, and stunning red rock views from the outdoor patio. Although we came for lunch we ended up staying longer than planned due to the overall vibe here. The margaritas are offered in every flavor and style -I chose the traditional Cadillac- my fav. It definitely didn't disappoint! Fresh, balanced, not too sweet, and just strong enough to remind you you're on vacation. We ordered the fajitas. Chicken, Steak & Shrimp combo, and it came out sizzling with all the fixings. You can tell everything is made fresh, and the flavors really pop. Service was friendly and laid-back, matching the overall vibe of the place. If you're looking for a casual spot with solid food, great drinks, and outdoor dining in Sedona, La Venice delivers. *Great Salsa & Guacamole!

We were promptly seated on the rooftop patio that had spectacular views. Along the railing will be on the direct sunlight during the late afternoon but you can sit fully in the shade in against the wall. Sweeping views of the rocks and even if you are sitting with your back to the views, they have installed mirrors for your viewing pleasure. We ordered the cheese enchilada and the quesabirria. It was pretty excellent and fresh and so were the chips and salsa. Yummy drinks as well with reasonable prices.

Enjoyed our meal at La Vecina! We were visiting from out of town and looking for good Mexican and came across. From the sounds of it, this restaurant is newly renamed with a new owner. The rooftop has a beautiful view of the landscape. Somewhat small menu, but the classics are there. I decided to have the enchiladas "you pick" combo. I chose chicken and beef which was a good choice. My husband ordered a taco bowl which was plentiful in portion size. Both dishes were. The service was a little slow, but I think they're just getting their bearings in place and might have been down a few servers. Ours was friendly and when attentive, was nice.

Conveniently located on the main road in Sedona near shops. The upstairs outdoor area is great for some nice views and enjoying the beautiful weather. They do have heater units in case it gets cold. To be honest the only downside is the food was expensive for Mexican. Average dinner plate was $25-28 but very delicious. We got the vampiro tacos with sirloin and the al pastor tacos. The chips and salsa were good and complimentary. Our server was attentive and helpful with the menu. I also got the shuga and spice margarita. Highly recommend but a little on the expensive side.

WOW. This place was a fantastic surprise. We walked right in. I chose this place based on my fellow Yelpers--so thank you! It's new to Sedona and is making its name. The chips were soooo good with the queso. (Of course I was starving as well after a long day of hiking!) Picky 9 was not impressed with her cheese quesadilla but appreciated the fries. Kid 1 went with quesabirria tacos and found them to be yummy. I had the beef chimichanga. The red and green sauces were a perfect combination of spice and yumminess. Hubs had the shrimp fajitas. He thought they were a bit oily. Overall, the view, the food, the service--all great! Give La Vecina a try!!!

Quesabirria taco plate (love birria meat such great hearty flavor!)

Great outdoor dining patio, prompt service & nummy quesabirria taco plate. Hit the spot after 1/2 a day of traveling & craving Mexican Waiter was kind, quick & thorough. Wasn't super busy as it was after-dinner rush. Big portion so leftover: yay! Homemade salsa & tortilla chips as well as the entree.

    Patio dog friendly?

I do not think so because you have to go through the main restaurant to get to the patio but maybe.

My friends tried the halibut, the brisket enchiladas, and the carne asada and all the sauces were very good. The chips and salsa was also very tasty. Strong drinks. I liked the sauce so much that I bought the chef's cookbooks that were on sale at the front desk. I love experimenting with recipes and excited to try to make my own sauces. Parking lot was full so we parked next door. We also made a reservation. Please come and create your own adventure.

I want to write this review in hopes of saving someone else from making the same mistake I did…read more I was incredibly excited to dine at Elote Café and managed to score a dinner reservation less than a week before my trip to Sedona, which is practically impossible if you've ever tried to get in. The anticipation was high, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype. For context, I'm from California and am accustomed to fresh, authentic Mexican food. To be fair, Elote Café does not claim to be authentic Mexican cuisine. If that's what you're looking for, this is not it. The menu leans much more toward a Tex-Mex/fusion style. Drinks The margaritas were fine. We requested Tajín rims, which they accommodated, but the presentation felt underwhelming for a restaurant of this reputation and price point. High-end cocktail programs typically include thoughtful touches--dried citrus, smoked cinnamon, herbs, or something that elevates the experience. These arrived as basic margaritas with salt and a lime wedge. Appetizers The complimentary chips and salsa were just okay. The salsa had an unexpected sweetness that didn't work for me. The famous Elote, however, absolutely deserves the praise. It was the best thing I ate all night--savory, balanced, and packed with flavor. Easily a 10/10. The guacamole was also excellent. No complaints there. Entrees The chicken enchiladas had flavorful chicken, but the green sauce was overwhelmingly tart and lacked the seasoning needed to balance that acidity. The shrimp and pork belly dish was disappointing. The pork belly was good, but there were only two very small pieces. The shrimp were underseasoned and lacked flavor. The carne asada was the biggest letdown of the night. It arrived covered in a red sauce that seemed to be attempting an enchilada-style sauce, topped with pickled onions and a slice of bleu cheese. While I appreciated the pickled onions, the bleu cheese felt like a strange addition to a carne asada dish. More importantly, despite being described as a prime cut skirt steak and cooked rare as requested, the meat was surprisingly tough. Rice&Beans The entrees came with rice and beans. The beans were acceptable, though nothing memorable. The rice, however, tasted like boxed or instant rice. At a restaurant where a dinner for four can easily approach $300, I expect better than something that tastes like it came from a pantry packet. It's a small detail, but details matter when a restaurant has built its reputation around being a must-visit dining destination. Dessert By this point we had no intention of ordering dessert, but we were celebrating a birthday and received a complimentary ice cream dessert. It was actually very good. The vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce all tasted house-made and had a rich dulce de leche flavor. Final Thoughts Our bill was nearly $300 for four people, and the overall experience simply wasn't worth the cost. Aside from the elote and guacamole, most dishes felt underseasoned, unbalanced, or failed to justify the restaurant's reputation. What puzzled me most was seeing several empty tables throughout service. Given how difficult reservations are to obtain, I expected the restaurant to be completely full. This is one of those restaurants where the hype far exceeds the reality. If you're worried about missing out, don't be. In my opinion, you're not.

Ok so I was so excited to go here. There is something really comforting about a tamale done right!…read moreThe glowing reviews and pictures seemed promising. The restaurant itself has a lot of character, it full of textures and colors, had a cute little fountain outside. It just feels homey and welcoming. The menu...is hella pricey for a tamale. I mean even with inflation these days I could get a tamale at most spots where I live for like half the price. I just told myself it's Sedona just except it lol so I went wild and got their extra special tamale with lots of topping to make it a more complete meal. I chose the chicken mole for my filling. I also got their dairy free horchata. First thing the horchata was delicious! Creamy, great texture, not to sweet, seasoned just right. Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. I wanted to love this spot so bad, and maybe it was a bad day, or the wrong thing to get...but their name is literally tamaliza. Their tamale should have rocked my world.
