The first weekend went great with them meeting me at the trail head and being flexible with pickup time. The day before my Saturday rental I got a cancellation notification from Compass letting me know I no longer had a reservation leaving me high and dry as no other shops had a rental available on such short notice.

There was no science involved, it was usually based on what we could find and what felt comfortable, but one thing was for sure there was always a little bit of pride involved. Although engineering and design has taken the old walking sticks to new heights but the purpose remains the same - and stability is one of the benefits, reducing stress on the joints is another and the list goes on and on. I still like hiking and exploring as much as I ever did although these days it's a very different experience. Everyone goes through the invincible phases in life and once upon a time falling down didn't hurt as much - well as we age we think a little further ahead and recovering likely takes a little longer too so it just makes since to incorporate a few insurance measures to mitigate the risk. I looked at a lot of different brands and took into account the technology, weight, materials, adjustability, convenience of storing them and most of all how I planned to use them and finally cost or at least the value for the frequency of use - I don't hike everyday and I don't competitively hike so the price point dramatically went down during my search for the perfect aid and I was able to eliminate the professional models from the start of my search. Cascade Mountain Tech offers quality equipment at reasonable prices depending on the options, I got these for under $30 a set including the durable case and (3) foot end options. When looking at trekking poles I found the sky's the limit, you can pay upward of $300 a set and your friends might give you some oohhs & aahhs if that's what you're looking for but remember it's a walking stick so I'd recommend to keep it simple and spend the extra money on a good pair of socks and hiking boots. These Trekking Poles will provide you with everything you need and should last a very long time, the cam lock adjustments and clearly marked sliding scales is meant to get you on the trail with little effort. These poles will definitely enhance your hiking experience and at the end of the day you'll be amazed of how much better you feel even after putting in a few extra miles...

Finally about a month later I went home . I went from a wheelchair to a walker and now I'm using your trekking poles to get around. I first bought a cheap pair of trekking poles that were pure junk then I bought yours at Costco. I'm still using the walker but trying to use your poles more. Thank you for making such a great product. The only thing is that they didn't come with a storage case.

I bought a pair of shoes, got home, and they felt tight even though I had tried them on in the store. Took them back and with the help of the salesman, found shoes that fit much better and were better for my needs. Realized I didn't have the receipt for the shoes I wanted to return, and I was told no problem. They looked up the payment history at the register. Also, I was told about getting a 15% discount for signing up for their app. Got asked if I was retiring (do I look old enough to retire?) while cashing out.

1 STAR -- Nike Completely Failed My Son I am beyond…read moredisappointed and angry with Nike. I placed an order on August 27th for shoes specifically for my autistic son to wear when he went back to school. I was given a delivery date of September 3rd, so I trusted Nike to do what they promised. Nike was VERY QUICK to take my money, but apparently not nearly as quick to communicate when they couldn't fulfill my order. Nobody contacted me to tell me there was a problem. Nobody warned me that the delivery was going to be delayed. I was left waiting and expecting my son's shoes to arrive. Now, after my son has already gone back to school, I'm being told that the shoes are NO LONGER IN STOCK. Are you serious, Nike? You accepted my order. You took my money. You gave me a delivery date. And then you failed to deliver the shoes and failed to properly communicate with me until it was too late. The person who suffers from Nike's mistake is my son. He has had to go back to school wearing his old shoes because Nike couldn't fulfill an order that I placed in good faith. This isn't just about a pair of shoes anymore. It's about accountability. If Nike knew there was an inventory problem, I should have been notified immediately so I could have found another pair before my son went back to school. I understand that mistakes happen. What I DON'T understand is how a company as large as Nike can take someone's money immediately but fail to take responsibility when the company makes the mistake. Nike screwed up this order, and my son is the one paying the price for it. I expected much better from Nike. This experience has completely changed the way I look at the company, and I will seriously think twice before ordering from Nike again. 1 star because zero stars apparently isn't an option. Nike needs to do better.

Plan accordingly. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ Outdoor adventures keeps the guided groups small (maximum 12 people). I appreciate the small groups since this was my first time kayaking. Three types of kayaks are available: single, double or triple occupancy. Discover is an accepted form of payment. A Discover Pass is required to park at Spencer Spit. If you do not have a pass, a $10 day pass can be purchased with cash or check. There were several rangers checking passes on our visit so be sure to have a pass visibly displayed to avoid being ticketed. WHAT TO BRING - Signed Release of Liability - Bathing suit or non-cotton under layers preferred - A synthetic shirt (capilene, polypro, Under Armor, etc) - Shorts or pants made of a synthetic material (may get wet/damp) - Lightweight fleece jacket or windbreaker/rain jacket to provide warmth - Water shoes or sandals that strap on (or shoes that can get wet) - Sun hat and/or sunglasses - Sunscreen and chapstick - Water bottle - Optional; Camera, Plastic bag for wet items and change of clothing - If you have a gift certificate or prepaid voucher (such as Groupon) please bring a printed copy with you! Be sure to use the restroom before departing. Once on the water, there is no turning back. Kayaking is great for teamwork and communication. Both are required to avoid frustration. I recommend wearing weight-lifting/bicycle gloves in order to prevent blisters. Each person in our group started getting blisters towards the end of the tour. During our 3 mile kayaking trip, we spotted starfish, seals and majestic bald eagles. Thank you Outdoor Adventures for providing a magnificent day of play while surrounded by gorgeous Mother Nature. We read the reviews online and called them to book our adventure. We were treated with kindness and respect from the time that we got there. We signed the requisite waivers and were told that the rapids head tamed down to class three which was very manageable and safe for the family. They outfit you with wet suits and boots and it's suggested that you bring your own hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. Our guy took the time to get to know all the folks that were in our group and arranged us in the raft, according to our age and abilities. My son and his friend sat towards the back of the raft, which turned out to be the safest and driest location. After a short walk-through of expectations and paddling instruction, we got underway. Smooth sailing for the 1st mile or so, and then we hit our first group of rapids. The guy did an outstanding job of keeping us afloat and telling us which side to paddle aggressively, and which side to back off on. Throughout the day, this continued and we hit several more aggressive rapids that were challenging, but a lot of fun. Photographers are located throughout the course and will get some great pictures of your group as you head down the river. They are available for purchase at the end. Overall, a great experience and a great day with osprey rafting company. Highly recommended!
