Stopped by the Columbus Brewing Company Taproom with a rather large group after a banquet. The inside is pretty big, with really cool artwork and decor on the walls. They have a patio in the middle of the building, so that's where we sat. The service was good and they were able to take payment on a handheld device up front which made for closing tabs a breeze. I tried the 'Summer Teeth,' a German style lager and it was really good. It also came in a cool, mini-liter German style glass which was neat They have a full menu and the food sounded appealing. A few people in our group got the french fries. We didn't stay very long, so I didn't get the full experience but from what I can tell, the CBC Taproom has a lot of potential and I'm excited to give it another try for a meal and drinks. read more

Come for the beer and nothing else. Geesh, I wanted to love this spot since it is close by enough to bike to and we love CBC beer. The taproom was super underwhelming. Maybe it was just the day but it had a bulk-grocery-store cafeteria atmosphere to it. I expected better with it being new(er) and in a warehouse-y brewery section of the city. The service was absolutely terrible, we waited a very long time and I finally just went up to the bar to order. They weren't particularly slammed, I'm not sure what the issue was. We noticed people sitting next to us getting up and leaving. Finally, what a disappointment about the food! We had always heard the pizza was good - well that was removed from the menu. So we ordered some kids' chicken fingers for my kiddo and I got the chicken sammich. Wow. Not good. Picture included. Bathrooms were messy and out of stock. The only thing saving this from a 1/5 review is 1) the beer was delish, especially the pumpkin beer and 2) they had games available which were entertaining (especially while we waited so long for service). One of our favorite spots for a good beer and some good food. Bodhi is my favorite IPA, so much so I named our dog Bodhi. So I always have a Bodhi when here. Plenty of space at the bar or in the bar area along with a small patio outside. Small menu for food, but the burger is great along with the wings. Last time I had the sweet potato tacos. Very good, only thing i suggested is to add more sweet potato as was lacking in this. Came with chips and queso. Last time we were here I tried the citrus bodhi and the hazy bodhi. Hazy IPA are my favorite. Both are really good. Was not crazy by the tropical Bodhi. Service is always great at the bar where we normally sit. Check it out! read more

Another stop on the Ale Trail. It was nice to stop at a place that sells some of my favorite brews. Their beers seem to be at every supermarket and restaurant in Central Ohio. I always enjoy a visit to CBC. I've gotten more into sours lately and they always have a few on tap that are delicious. I think they just do small batches because they don't usually have the same ones each time. This time I tried the Crocodile Tongue and Marshall. Both were very good. They've more recently added food, too! -Their Diner Style Cheeseburger is fantastic. One of our favorites in the city and we've had a lot of burgers (big fans of burger and beer week). It's a classic burger but damn is it good. Get the samurai sauce for your fires. -The boneless wings are also really good, too. I love a good garlic-parm and they have Buffalo-Garlic Parmesan - so so yummy. -The Queso, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. It's laking flavor and doesn't even really seem like melted cheese, just some kind of dip that could use some love. I haven't had it with the chorizo in it but I would definitely recommend adding that as I would imagine it would make it more interesting. -The pizzas look really good and are probably next on our list to try! I've heard they are a pretty good size, too. There's a solid amount of seating inside and there's a small patio out back as well. They have some games out to play and a large merch selection up front. Service has always been great and they are happy to make suggestions or bring you samples if you're not sure which beer to try. We came here for the first time yesterday, because I saw that my fav food truck would be here (Aloha 'Aina). We arrived and were directed to the lot across the road because there were vendors set up next to their building. They had tents set up with people selling clothing, jewelry, etc, and a few food vendors. We went in and found 2 seats at the bar. I had their lager and it was good. Boyf had the German-style pilsner. He liked. I did not find the food truck at all - they may have run out and left ? Who knows. CBC's menu is not impressive so we didn't order food. What an excellent brewery situated off the beaten path. This was our first visit to CBC, even though I've had their beer hundreds of times. Plenty of parking and well tailored entrance greeted us as we arrived. As we grabbed our seat at the bar, I noticed food coming out to a few people and I knew the pizza was in my future. The chorizo pizza knocked it lit of the park and the dough was seriously my favorite part. Tons of air with a light and crispy mouth feel. It was seriously the perfect pizza and I'd put it in my top 10 for the city. Their beer was fantastic as always and I loved how I could get a few ounces at a time. It really opened us up to trying almost 10 beers on their menu and it was perfect. The staff was super knowledgeable about their menu and beer, answering all of my questions as we went along. CBC has always been one of my favorite brewing companies in Columbus. I'm a huge fan of their beers, but I'd never actually seen the brewery or even knew where exactly it was located. Now they have an awesome taproom with great food that reopened this past Summer, and it's worth checking out! As with any brewery's taproom, you're going to find a bunch of delicious beer here that you most likely won't find in stores. They had a sour that was very tasty, and I probably could have kept drinking that all night. The real star here for me is the food. I wasn't expecting a whole lot being a small menu and off-the-beaten path taproom, but the food was SO good. The pizza is just as good, if not better, than any Wizard of Za pie (they look pretty similar as well), and the burger is just about perfect with Butcher and Grocer ground beef. I had some of the Za'atar wings as well which was so different from any wings I've had, but they were crunchy and juicy. The service was a little slow, but I can deal with that. Overall, this place is great with a pretty patio and large indoor seating, and I'd very highly recommend checking it out. read more

Holy MOLYYYY. This... this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. When I had ordered my pizza I really didn't know what to think. May I have the cacio de Pepe pizza, I said. I had no idea what the pizza would be like, will there be pasta on it? Lots of cheese? Just cheese and pepper? I really didn't know what to expect but wow was it a great surprise. When you bite into this pizza it tastes like you are taking a journey to Italy. The olive oil seeping into your mouth and the gooey cheese pulling between your teeth and pizza as you take a bite. It was a wonderful experience for sure. I'm not sure what type of olive oil they're using for it but you just know it's a good one. The flavor is just out of this world. Well I've done enough pimping over this pizza, I want to tell you about the fun I had here! The wall is painted with a beautiful mural of dragons and aliens and it was thoroughly amazing! They also have plenty of board games you are able to play with some including uno, jenga and a similar game to cards against humanity. Will be back for the pizza! read more

I love CBC! Have been here many times and it has always been wonderful. Their beers are great. Right now, I love the blueberry chroma, peach chroma, and margarita playa. I loved their beer called Brioso as well (literally my fav of all time) but it's gone now. I hope they bring it back. I am a little upset that this CBC location doesn't do pizza anymore!! Well, the ballyhooed opening of the CBC taproom has come and gone, and I'm finally sitting in a semi-retro-industrial bar stool at their stretched-u-shaped sanded-concrete bar. That's a lot of s's. (This is definitely not poetry, so nix any thoughts of alliteration).But that's not nearly as many s's as there are CBC beers on tap. 24. 12 each on 2 standpipes. That's good. Right? Yep. And there's lots to choose from in the beer-to-go category. Even better. I won't be able to evaluate all of the beers for a couple of months. I live pretty nearby, but not nearby enough to walk home. Which is a requirement if someone wants to tackle 24 craft brews in less than...oh, I don't know...6 or 7 sittings. But,I digress... There's still work to be done on the facility. Wall graphics. Rail counters along the perimeter. Patio stuff. Etc. But, it's certainly functional as a tap room. TVs? Well, I'm informed that the beer listings are replaced by OSU games. But that's it for "programming". At least for now. There's a paraphernalia section that offers t-shirts, wrist bands, hats, glasses, etc. I snagged a t-shirt. Why not? There's some cool ones. The bar was pretty full heading into 10pm. But there's quite a few tables available, too, for twosomes and foursomes. Overall, I'm optimistic about where this new location for CBC is heading. Taprooms are not "brewpubs", necessarily. And the CBC taproom is sharply focused on the beer & conversation motif of a taproom. Sometimes, simplicity is the silent genius of invention. This is one of my favorite breweries so I was excited when I found it right down the road from where I live. It's a bit out of the way from downtown. Kind of a random location but worth the venture out. The inside taproom is great. The bar has ample amounts of seating and there is table seating as well. I love the beer selections. Always something new to try and the classics as well. Bodhi is my favorite ipa but was just in and really enjoyed the Veteran. I like to keep with flights because I can never decide on just one! They also have a great gift selection. I personally love collecting glasses or t-shirts from breweries and they have it all. Columbus Brewing Company really is different than the now shuttered CBC restaurant. I will get off of my soapbox after saying this, I just really wish they understood the confusion of almost all Columbus residents and didn't treat us like idiots when they are questioned on the history of the two. Ok, if you happen to be a fan of IPA's then chances are you are going to be a big fan of this brewery. When you enter the taproom you get an industrial vibe. You are surrounded by murals that to me a reminiscent of BrewDog (I wonder if they got the idea from them). The bar and seating are is massive. They are not lacking on space. We slid into two bar seats and perused the menu. They offer flights of beer that consists of 4 beer pours, but you can add on as many additional tastes are you see fit. I went with the following 5: Ales for ALS (Pale Ale with $1 from each pint sold going to ALS), Guava Tap, Uncle Rusty (Red Ale), Passion Playground, and Technicolor Hat. I loved the presentation of the beers. They are basically served in over sized snifter glasses and I adored drinking out of them. The visit was easy and for the most part the beers were smooth. Visiting for a concert and decided on this brewery to visit. My husband enjoyed his beer but said too many IPA's on the menu. Was hoping for a red or vanilla brown but enjoyed his lager. We ordered the fries and mozzarella sticks for apps. Disappointed in the amount given for $9 fries as they were nothing special by no means. The mozzarella sticks were good but only 5 per order and with a family of 5 (3 being kids) didn't go far. Overall it was just ok, had better and left nothing to brag about. read more

SO pumped CBC is back open. Overall, their beer lineup is my favorite beer lineup in all of Columbus. So glad they are back open after the pandemic and we can visit again. They have added a food truck based kitchen that you can order food from and there is a nice little patio out back to sit on that is partially covered and makes for a nice time. We stopped in for burger week and when I tell you their diner burger is the best burger I have had in Columbus, it's straight FACTS. We wanted to get back to CBC now that they had opened back up and Burger week was the perfect opportunity. The burger sounded kind of plain so I wasn't super pumped about it but was interested in trying for sure because burgers, amirite? Two patties, normalish toppings, etc, right?? Well hot DAMN this burger was so good, best of burger week and the best in Columbus all around. It was so juicy, so delicious, so melt in your mouth. It was the perfect blend of everything and absolutely hit the spot! This is a craft brewery located in Columbus Ohio. Neat place! Hidden in an industrial looking area. They had a lot of different brews to try and I loved their Cherry Galette which is a wood aged sour! They are known for their IPA and Bodhi. They do have a small food item. They have a Margherita pizza but really it was just a regular pizza with mozzarella cheese in it. It was really yummy but there was no balsamic or basil. But everyone has a different take on it! My brother got wings and a burger- he really enjoyed both. I got the French fries along with the pizza and the fries are nice hot and thick. Definitely nice with a cold beer. They have different items with their logo on it for sale, such as stickers, T-shirt's, and cups, even a super cute hockey pull over with their logo on it. Free lot parking. read more
