We have been to Cơm Gà Houston in Houston before and have always enjoyed it, so we were genuinely excited to find out they now have a location in Arlington. This was our first visit to the Arlington location, and it was great to have the same kind of food we enjoy much closer to home in North Texas. We had the Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese Pancake), Chicken Rice with Cabbage Salad, and Chicken Rice with Banana Flower Salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The Bánh Xèo was crispy and packed with flavor, and both chicken rice dishes were simple, authentic, and very well done. Our waitress was a little concerned that I might not like the banana flower salad, which gave us a good laugh. I've been eating Vietnamese food for more than 30 years. I married into a Vietnamese family for a reason. Needless to say, the banana flower was not a problem at all, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We truly enjoy this place, and having an Arlington location means we no longer have to wait for a trip to Houston to get it. I've tried Com Ga Houston on Bellaire a few years ago in the Houston location and I still remember the taste to this day, but I didn't have time to go again. A couple of years ago, they opened another franchise in Arlington TX and I was so excited to try but to my surprise, they could not be more disappointed. Fast-forward to today, I heard the original owner is taking over the Arlington franchise, so I decided to give them another try. I'm so glad I did. Their food is excellent! just like how I remember the first time from the Bellaire location. This time I tried their Vietnamese Crepe ( BÁnh XÈo) and OMG! it is soooo good. Ok food but terrible service. We came on Sunday around 12 Ish and the restaurant was half full so we expected more than minutes wait but it turned out to be the longest we ever had to wait for food for any restaurants, especially Vietnamese restaurants. We had a small table and we ordered 4 entrées. Water came out fast and the wait began. The rice with fried chicken (com ga xoi mo) for my son came out after 35 minutes and the next 2 noodle dishes (pho ga and bun mang vit) didn't come out until at least 45 minutes from the time we ordered. I even checked midway with the server as I thought they might have forgotten to put the order in the system. Then by the time we finished the entrees and went up to pay which was a good 1 hr and 15 mins total, the 4th entree (half chicken) still never came. I told the cashier to just cancel it because we were done eating and she said they are cutting the chicken and so I said fine, just pack it to go. The whole experience was just ridiculous. I gave the food between 3 and 4 stars (fried chicken with rice was the better one) and service with the extreme slowness was a 1 and therefore, overall, I gave it a 2. I contemplated but in the end, I left tips because a young server there who served us water and brought some of our food out seemed sweet and overwhelm so I didn't want to punish her but definitely will not come back to the restaurant. read more

We came in for lunch on a Friday and it was not too busy. Maybe it was the hot summer weather that kept others away, but that doesn't deter us from eating noodle soups. Although, they are also known for their goi (salads) as well which could be quite refreshing on a hot day. We were welcomed in as soon as we walked in and seated. Waters were brought out as we looked over the menu. They specialize in chicken and you can eat it with congee, pho noodle soup, rice noodle soup, glass noodle soup, egg noodle soup, or rice. You can also pair it with their chicken salads made with cabbage or banana leaves. Their dressing and dipping sauce are both slightly too sweet for my preference. I do enjoy the ginger in the dipping sauce though. They do offer a few additonal dishes such as the Vietnamese version of Hainanese chicken (com ga hai nam), curry (ca ri), beef stew (bo kho), and banh xeo (crepe). Most recently, they forgot a soup in one of our to-go orders and didn't include sauce in either.
