we came back from our trip to Tahoe itching last Sunday - thinking it's nothing, unfortunately ski week ended not so well for us - we got lice. Thanks to Jacque for curing us from lice. What a relief!! Great job! However, I would give the company one star for their hidden charges. Yikes! You have to be very wealthy to afford such a service. I don't see why a comb has to be $15 and a small bottle of conditioner $22 Next time I will handle it myself. I think I could have been informed better by the technician on the phone, since they gave me a standard charge per hour and no information about a different charge for evenings or weekends. Last weekend in the terrible rain and storm, they dispatched a technician to our home within a few hours of us discovering lice in our kids hair during their Saturday morning baths. I tried to get an appointment everywhere in the city thinking I need to drive the kids somewhere to get treated but was told i have to wait until Tuesday morning, by noon I was a nervous wreck, the kids were crying, who wants to wait for 3 days with bugs crawling in their hair? kids have to miss school? we have to be at work! I found Comb&cure - they were available, responsive, their phone operator answered all my questions, sent us Nicole - and the technician Nicole was so knowledgeable she walked us through everything we had to launder, what to do after the appointment and she worked efficiently and thoroughly, we have 3 kids and she was able to finish all 3 within 4 hours and checked my husband and I as well (we were all clear luckily). The downside is that it is not cheap by any means, but oh so well worth it! read more

Within hours of discovering lice in both my daughters' hair on a Friday afternoon and calling Comb & Cure in panic, they sent a technician to our house! Ashley did a great job getting ALL the lice and nits out of my daughters hair! Took a over an hour for each of the girls, they both have long hair, while they did homework and I did all the laundry (beddings, clothes, backpacks) and sprayed all sofas, rugs (they sell a repellant spray to kill lice, no chemicals and smells nice!) I received a free head check too and luckily did not have lice, we were cleared within hours, what a relief and what an amazing benefit of being able to have someone come to our home and drive anywhere in Friday afternoon rush hour! read more

We got the call from school the morning of Halloween! Both of my sons had lice! I called Comb&Cure from work while our babysitter picked up the boys. They were able to send someone to our house within hours and by the time I got home to take the kids trick-or-treating they were both treated, lice removal completed and instructed our sitter about laundry and cleaning/preventive spraying. We have been loosing our battle against lice for weeks, spent quiet a bit on home remedies first, then received a heat treatment which was so pricy and left nits in our hair (they claimed were not alive and guess what they were), and finally we are finally lice free! We were visited by a technician, Mayumi, who cleared the 4 of us completely in just a few hours - we were lice free! the products are also so gentle and safe, we are relieved and gained our peace of mind back. BEWARE! OVERCHARGE attempts were made (twice). They tried to add charges any way they could-- I was told there is an extra fee the first time and the second time they claimed I asked for and bought a product, which I did not. Just an awful experience dealing with this company. Like the other Yelper Shannon stated already, their poor ethics and shady business practices should lead you elsewhere-- it is just not worth it to have to worry and watch/fight your charges repeatedly with this company. This business is highly unethical. I booked a Sunday evening appointment and was called at 8pm which was the time they were suppose to arrive. They stated that they had another appointment that would take an additional 5 hours and needed to reschedule. The operator on the phone offered us the earliest appointment the following morning (Monday). We were told that they were very sorry for the inconvenience but stated the good news was that the Monday charge would be $99 an hour which is the weekday rate instead of the off hour rate of $159 and hour. The company still charged my CC a holding fee of $335. The lice removal person came Monday at 8am and spent 1.35 hours. They had us sign just a slip of paper after the appointment noting the hours only -nothing to do with the total charges. I called the company about the charge and they stated that Monday 8-9am (early morning) was still the $159 an hour rare and 9am on was $99 an hour. Oddly the charge came up to the exact amount of the pre-with amount even though they had no idea how much time we would need or the fact at the last minute we bought a lice removal comb. This was contradictory to what the operator had quoted. I'm disputing with my CC because when I called in to discuss the operator was unruly and cut me off without allowing me to speak. This company is not honest with their billing or their business practices. read more

Not surprisingly, after checking my sons' hair, I realized that they both had lice as well. It was 5 pm and I didn't know what to do about our trip in light of this development. Then I recalled that a friend of mine recently mentioned her great experience with Comb & Cure and I decided to give them a try. Within 5 minutes, I had an appointment for the next morning. The lady who came was professional and very efficient. We only needed one treatment and were good to go. Nothing beats having a treatment to get rid of lice in the privacy of your own home. I was able to continue with my day as my daughter was having treatment. When our daughter came home with lice I was stunned. I had them as a kid but the school I went to wasn't a high end suburb private school. Show you how much I know, LOL. I used this service on a Sunday afternoon so i was charged the highest rates. The technician came out to our home promptly and seemed knowledgeable. She treated my daughters and me. I followed all the instructions she left and brushed for more than 12 days after our treatment and one month later both girls had lice again. I even purchasedthe repelents and detanglers and it didn't work. I was pretty disapointed as it was over $700, and they only guarantee if you pay for a follow up appt. read more

On our flight yesterday to SF from Boston to attend a wedding i had the realization that it's not dandruff in my little ones hair because I couldn't brush it out! We felt so relieved to know we can get help while we are away from home and before having to attend a formal event! By the time we arrived to our hotel and ordered dinner, Comb & cure gal arrived - equipped with combs and tools, she dove right in and she was so professional! so thorough! Our daughter felt like she was in a luxurious hair salon or a spa - getting combed and brushed while watching a movie and eating dinner! We were able to rest last night with a peace of mind, we were told what to do, how to take care of ourselves to stay lice-free, received amazing products to use (which actually smell nice). now on our way to the ceremony in great spirits, which didn't seem possible last night when we landed here!
