We have always loved this comedy show however there were 5 of us attending Saturday night. We were approached by an employee and told that my daughter was laughing too loud and it was distracting. We waited for her to come back from the bathroom and decided to leave. My husband approached the manager on the way out but he would not discuss what we had happened. The hotel itself? Unimpressive. The venue? Nothing fancy. No fancy cocktails. Just tables and ready to roll on the floor comedy. Our server was attentive, the drinks weren't outrageous for Vegas standards and the comedians were hands down the funniest I've ever seen. Michael Yo was the main one, but the three before him were all hilarious. My ribs hurt the next day. For the price and the level of comedy in this literal cellar you can't beat it. This place deserves to be on the strip. We did get a Groupon deal to go see a show on Saturday. We had 5 fantastic comics and the Friend's Mattress King (IYKYK), as our MC. There's no drink/food minimum at this club, but there's no food. Definitely worth checking out! There are NO SHUTTLES between Rio and the strip. So you're either walking (which is doable on Flamingo Ave. there are sidewalks and a little over a mile), public transportation or taxi/Uber/Lyft. read more

The website for the show said like "enjoy comedy and dinner," but when we got there there were no menu options for food or even snacks. By the end of the show we had drank too much and were starving. If there was a disclaimer I missed it but I checked out the site pretty thoroughly. The one comedian let some idiot audience member derail him which was annoying. I wanted to hear his set, not him make fun of her. And full disclosure the security are mask police -someone in the front row had a drink but was not actively drinking it and she was told to put her mask up -she had a drink!! read more

So some of my cousins came into town and got tickets to the Comedy Cellar. First, I'd like to say that parking in the parking structure is the best bet. Parked, took the elevator and walked very directly to the club. It is very dark and intimate in a cool way but if you have claustrophobia issues...beware.=) The MC was awesome and drinks were freely flowing before and during, so I do not remember the names of the comedians but I did get to HIghFive the Lady that was crazy funny. There were 4 acts and 3 were absolutely freaking hilarious. There's no bad seat in the house, either. We had a blast; i'll definietly be going again. And just a suggestion, excuse if they already exist, but maybe provide a QR code for the comedians or a leaflet that tells you who they are AFTER you've sobered and want to follow them. read more

Great time at the second showing of comedy. All 4 comedians had the entire audience entertained. Loved ever minute of the show that even went over the normal 1.5 hour show. Food plates were good, the wings are the best bang for your buck if you are looking to get full. Drinks were a tad expensive but tasted pretty darn good. Three plates, 4 drinks cost us $115, not too bad. Will be back for more comedians in the future. read more

I'm from New York, we have a Comedy Cellar, as well; however, it's rather difficult to secure tickets. I decided to venture here for some laughs and I wasn't shortchanged. Prior to wntry, you get a quick pep talk about no photography or talking during the show. Also, they have a strict mask policy (which I applaud). They want you to sip your drink and immediately put your mask back on. I know this ruffles some peoples feathers, but I'm glad they are doing their part. As for the show itself, it was the Emcee and four comedians. I only knew the last person, Dean Edwards. All the comedians were good; I felt the show got better as it went along. The two women comedians were good (Amy Jones and Jasmine Comedian, I believe here name was). They both gots lots of laughs and people enjoyed. When Dean came on, there was a drunk woman in the crowd that began to cause a commotion. She kept having these excited utterances, which he went with the flow, but it became annoying. She stopped for awhile and then it picked up toward the end of his seat. After the show, security informed me, they actually wanted to forcibly remove her but the producers in his ear asked them to hold off. Dean was a good sport, but she did cause a disruption. Nonetheless, I throughly enjoyed myself here. One minor setback would be they don't have servers and you actually need to go on a long line to get drinks, but other than that, it's a wonderful show. read more

The cheapest "legitimate" comedy show in Las Vegas. I've been to the New York Comedy Cellar and this is pretty similar. Four comics try and win your chuckles by working the crowd and performing ribaldry.. It's a different vibe at the Las Vegas location, and don't expect any headlining comics to just show up and work on their national act like some do in New York. So is the Las Vegas Comedy Cellar worth it? Guess it depends on what type of jokes you're looking to hear. It's blue comedy at the Cellar, as three of the four comics on our night did sets primarily based on jacking off. Sounds like the talent buyer has a few personal issues if you ask me. Because the comedy cellar is off strip it's also a bit of a hassle. I didn't have any issues parking at the Rio, but once inside you had to find the ticket office and then the actual comedy cellar. Plus you have to account for a designated driver. Interesting facts - The Comedy Cellar clubs all seem to poach comics from the same TV shows. Most have ties to now super-villain Louis C.K., especially show MC, Mark Cohen. Definitely not the place to go if you're a militant lesbian. So for the price, I'd say it's worth it.. I think most people enjoyed the show and at a minimum they got their monies worth. I'd recommend this over Brad Garrett's comedy club if you're looking for something edgy. The one negative at both comedy cellars is their seating map. Their goofy seating picture is not really how the club is set up. Basically all General Admission sections GA0, GA2 GA1 are considered the same area, despite what the picture states. We booked through a discount broker and wanted to sit in GA1 but alas when we arrived we were put against the back wall even though we were first in line. Basically the ticket broker was confused on how to book GA1 and just booked us at G0 ( back wall). Anyway..Those seats sucked.. - My recommendation is to buy VIP or Preferred seating through their website. The General Admission seats can suck because if you're not facing the stage you'll be booking a chiropractic appointment when you get back home. Your head will be turned around the entire show. - Drinks up to $14. No drink minimum at the Las Vegas location. - Those discount ticket brokers on the strip sell the tickets for the same price as the Comedy Cellar's web page. You're buying on the strip if you're being spontaneous and for convenience, not for a great discount. read more

Double date with our friends. Got to the venue at 9:15 and they were just starting to let people in (9:30 show). The person directing regular and vip admission lines and checking bags and purses was really fun. He taught us a couple words in Japanese too. As we entered the VIP line, there was a gentleman with a metal detector wand checking everyone. He was a nice guy. Passed the restrooms and to the bar area that had a pretty decent line. The lady seating people let us know that it was going to be a pretty full house so if we took our seats now, we could get a good view and the waitress could get our drinks (that's for the good advise). Took our seats and ordered a round of bottle waters and a coupon drinks. Waitress was pretty fast considering how many tables there were. We got to see 4 comedians and 3 were very very funny but one wasn't really my cup of tea but he got the room laughing a bit so all good there. The show lasted 2 hours and our tickets in the middle section only cost about $40/person with taxes and fees. Took one star away because I would have liked to have ordered a second drink and also how uncomfortably hard the seats were. My butt was hurting by the end of the show. Lol. Can I just say that my cheeks still hurt from all the laughing I was doing last night! Thanks to my fellow friend and Yelp Elite sista, Nina B. (add her if you haven't already!) for the tickets to last night's 7pm show. This was my first time to a comedy show so my expectation was a blank slate; all I knew was that I was ready for a good laugh or two ;) Getting into the theater is easy; couple security guards check your tickets and bags...then you walk down a Hall of Fame photos of previous comedians from the NY location - then you're in! They have a full bar inside where you can walk up and order but better yet, they have cocktail servers that walk around in the theater that can take your order. The theater itself is not what I expected, it's very intimate - I like it! The interior of the comedy club is tables versus rows of seats. Anywhere you sit you"ll get a good view and the sound is just right since the theater isn't that large. *Note, if you sit on any of the front row tables, you may or may not get picked on...it cannot be confirmed nor denied. LOL...Sit at your own risk. *wink. The show began promptly at 7pm. An MC came out to pump the crowd up, then we were on our way... there were a total of 4 acts. I loved them all! The jokes were just right in the fact that they touched on race, marriage, drugs, alcohol, the president and more! For my first time, I loved everything about my experience. I got tickets for 4 and invited Great company with Charlene, John and Drew. There are 2 showtimes: 7:00 pm and 9:00pm. I chose 7:00 pm. The show room is where Eddie Griffin show was before but this time everything was a different layout. Intimate and Small. It was my first time seeing the Comedy Cellar. The show is very popular in New York and so they brought to the show in Las Vegas. I believe the show will have different comedians weekly so I highly recommend you see the show repeatedly, I know I will! ( Just look at the Comedy cellar Las Vegas on who will be playing) Beginning to End I could not stop laughing, I even snorted! As you are sat to a table, you are able to order drinks with a waitress before the show. You have a Host, Mark Cowen, who will have a little opening act and then he introduces each comedians. There will be 4 comedians throughout the Non-stop 90 minutes show. If you needed to use a restroom you were able to but no intermission. I believe they want to keep the momentum going throughout the show with the audience. Be Aware that if you volunteer yourself to sit in the front its a No Brainer that you will picked on during the show. I find that its really hard to make me laugh at a comedy show but this one is hands down the best so far in Las Vegas and underrated. If you want to laugh really hard, Come out to the Comedy Cellar. Well who doesn't love a cool comedy show eh? This was my first time here and i felt it was a solid experience. Upon arrival we were quickly ushered to our seats and everything there is ordered through a server who frequently check on you to see if anything is needed. The menu was very overpriced, however they have a "dinner show" ticket option to where food is included with your show if you so choose...the menu looked mediocre. The show and comedy acts were great! Very entertaining and exactly what i expected. There was supposedly a strict no phone policy, but seemed to not be enforced...at least not with the annoying people next to us constantly on their phone and talking amongst each other. The seating is the standard non fancy seats that get uncomfortable after 80 minutes of laughs but i havent seen anything different anywhere else. Tickets are decently priced so....go enjoy it!!! read more

Better than I expected for a small comedy club at The Rio. The venue is located next to the Indian restaurant not far from the front desk area. All of the employees we encountered were welcoming and friendly. After our tickets were scanned someone was ready to escort us to our table. All of the seating is tables. There is one long row up front, two person rounders in the next row, and then tables for larger groups behind that. The room isn't big so there isn't a bad seat. I was surprised to find that the venue serves food as well as drinks. There are waitresses that come around to take food and drink orders. The drink menu had some fun cocktails as well as the usual options. The food menu offered appetizer items as well as food like flatbreads. The style of the show was a host that started the show and came out between each comedian. The night we visited there were four comedians. They each entertained us for about 15-20 minutes. The time for each comedian was perfect and the overall length of the show was good. Three of the comedians were very funny and one was okay so overall a hilarious evening. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. read more

I'll start with the positives of the show: The comedians were hilarious, great job! Wait staff were really kind and service was great. Your doorman has great personality. He even told us a really funny joke while we were waiting in line for the 9pm show. The usher who sat us was also very kind. He even gave us better seats for free because they were open. Now the reason I gave you 3 stars: My girlfriend went to use the restroom and I followed her. As I exited the room, I noticed a security guard (on his phone) "leaning" over and staring at her butt! He didn't even realize I was right behind him. While in the restroom, I told her about it and we laughed it off. The second time we went to use the restroom, the same security was on his phone again. What made the situation creepy was that he was on what looked like Instagram, looking at girls in thongs! Yes, we walked right behind him and saw his phone screen. When we returned to the show. I stopped and took a photo of him. He was so content on his phone he didn't even notice me! And yes he was still on the site looking at ass... WHAT A PERV! I myself work for a major hotel. I know for a fact that employees should not be on their phone during work hours and especially not in front of customers. After the show, I asked one of the security in the room who the manager was and we spoke about the situation. I pointed out the security and I got a very disappointing response. The security stated, "It didn't matter if we complained. Nothing will happen to Victor, he's the bosses good friend." WOW! Really!? It's ashamed that management condones this behavior. Shame on you Mr Manager. I hope you and your good friend get the help you need. Comedy Cellar, you had a great show and your other staff were really good. Unfortunately, we will not be supporting you. Especially with staff and management that support this style of work. read more

Second time returning here this last week and I was very pleased with my experience yet again. I purchased tickets on Groupon on got quiet a nice discount. I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was something like 30% off. The comedy venue is located at the rio so a bit out of the way for most people, but it's certainly a good show and for a good price. The host was the same both times and he was fantastic for a host. Both shows features some great acts. First time around we caught Michael Yo and he was exceptional. It's nice there is no item minimum here so feel free to get all your drinks and food in before. The bar is placed right outside of the doors to the show so you are able to get orders in without disturbing the show as well as people taking orders all they don't come by too much. Overall recommend this place and definitely check out Groupon for some deals! read more

It would have been a 5-star review if not for the mask nazi who ruined the show for me with his "mall cop syndrome." I wear masks all the time, even when not required if it makes others feel more comfortable. I believe in science. I'm vaccinated. I'm basically a bleeding heart liberal, but the dude at comedy cellar went way overboard. Apparently I need to "drink faster" so my mask can be pulled up faster. Initially I assumed the bad reviews were from crazy people, but no. I had VIP tickets and was in the front row, so maybe I was made an example of... it made me so self-conscious every time I took a sip. I LOVE Comedy shows. The best ones seem to have the same ingredients; Intimate but comfortable seating, generous drinks and GREAT Comics. The Comedy Cellar has all of those. Getting to the Cellar is pretty easy, especially due to the how EMPTY the Rio Casino floor is. We were seated quickly so we had time to hit the bar before the show. It definitely would have been nice to have table service but the bar line went fast and the drinks did not disappoint! I was surprised that they only have 1 women's stall in the 1 women's bathroom they have. I can image that gets really inconvenient at times. My face hurt from laughing. Overall, great experience. Went with a group of 6 (three couples) , and felt almost immediately harassed by the management / staff there. We are a respectful group of healthcare & service industry workers looking for stress relief via comedy and the woman in charge stood over us at the table as if we were misbehaving toddlers , it was so awkward. The sad part is, we enjoyed the comedians, they had us all laughing ( which was the problem apparently) she kept shhhhh'ing us every time we laughed . Then when we pulled our mask down to take a sip of our drink, she instructed us how to do it ( we are nurses ) . We walked out mid show sadly making the comedian feel it was her fault when it was 100% the appalling behavior of the manager. 9/18/21 is the date we were there. Never ever ever again. read more

Loved our experience here! Great cheap tickets and you get to see some amazing comedians. We went for a 7pm show and saw 4 comedians. The whole thing lasted about 2 hours. Best comedy club hands down I've been to thus far in Vegas. I've been here about 6 times and not once have I been disappointed. Every time a friend comes to town, this place is a MUST visit!! Variety of comedians each and every time the host Mark Cohen has great energy and keeps the crowd engaged and has good jokes of his own. Waitresses come around and take your drink and food orders but, you should grab a drink or 2 on your way in so you don't have to wait :-) The Rio isn't the best hotel, but, the Comedy Cellar is legit!
